I'd go for Rain at PDP. A lot of people loathed it, so presumably were a bit quiet on the night (though I can't remember) And it was later reworked and promoted as the big single in the UK- where it flopped again. It's not as recent as all that- but then he's always ready to improve on reality if it suits the moment.

To be fair, the esc can be a lot of fun- especially the voting, some people only watch the voting. It just hasn't got anything to do with music.

Many UK people on here have given their opinion that no-one in the UK- not the radio, not the stores, not most people- have given TOOL a chance and that a lot of people would have liked it if they had. Even if he won Eurovision for the UK, it's considered so naff that he'd be given less of a chance in future. People who don't like cheesy inanity would be even less likely to listen to the album, and people who do like that stuff wouldn't like TOOL because it isn't But aren't there national heats so that "the people" choose the national entry? Or something. I'd be happy to see him doing The Voice or some such reality thing. People are always impressed when they hear him talk. Besides, those things are considered WAY classier than Eurovision.

I'm with the people who think that if Mika does Eurovision (performing, he might get some mileage out of writing) it'll damn near prove to the UK, including me, that he's no longer interested in being a serious artist. I really, really hope he has more sense than to do it. And I think he does have sense.

Yeah, seemed half hearted to me too. That or too nervous. As to choosing to "work on other projects" rather than gigging, I still suspect he's making a virtue out of necessity.
