  1. If I don't get there until 6, would it be possible for you guys to still try to save a spot for me? I know that might not seem fair to the people behind us so if this doesn't seem right, I understand. But I would so love to be in front of the stage with other MFCers!
  2. If it was just me, I would be there super early but my husband is coming with me so I think the earliest I could get there would be 6. I think the doors open at 6:30 and I don't know how early I can drag him there. It would be awesome if we could save places for other MFCers and be able to stand in front of the stage all together. I just figured I would see what happens when I get there. If I end up in the balcony, that will be alright as well. If we get there and you still have some spots saved, I would gladly stand in line with you guys. But if it doesn't work out, that's alright. I'm just happy to see MIKA again after three long years!
  3. I know people would love it! I played it for about 50 people where I work (claiming it was the most beautiful song ever written ) and almost all of them loved it even though they could not understand what he was singing. Most of them were so taken with his voice. Even though I play MIKA music for my co-workers on occasion, many made comments that they never realized what a beautiful voice he has. He needs to do more songs with only a piano and his voice.
  4. I agree. I thought the song was beautiful and I didn't notice any pitch alterations. And it's true, I would think they would have had to change the pitch of the entire song or something would have sounded off. I don't upload copywritten music to YouTube so I don't know if they do change the pitch of songs to get around the legal issues. Of course I don't claim to have a degree in music and I cannot sing a note to save my life but I know when I hear a song I love. And if they altered that song then I can honestly say that the original must be as close to perfection as one can get. And I would love to be able to hear it in another format but for right now YouTube is all some of us have.
  5. I just heard the song for the first time about 20 minutes ago and I am still sobbing. I have now seen heaven.
  6. I see you were also at the Seattle 2009 concert. I was there too!

  7. Yes, MIKA has fans in Montana, believe it or not. I think most of them were converted by me!! I do everything I can to get his music out there...that's how much I believe in him. I am excited to see you in Chicago also!

  8. That is so true! Most husbands are not conductive to getting close to MIKA! I am surprised that he actually wanted to go with me. I went with a friend to the Seattle concert because he didn't want to go and I think he heard so many stories of what a great time we had that he wants to check it out for himself. I know he will have a great time (he probably won't admit it!) but I know he will enjoy the concert. How could anyone not enjoy it! MIKA is such a great performer and so much joy and happiness are in the air that you can't help but dance! He might stay for awhile after. I just have to see how it goes. I am just happy he is going with me. It is a big step for him!
  9. Thanks Christine. I didn't know how that all works with waiting after one of his shows. MIKA is the only artist I have ever waited around for the chance to see. I'm not even sure if I will be able to wait after this show since my husband will be with me. Even though I would wait forever for a chance to see MIKA, my husband doesn't share that feeling. But I am truly excited to see MIKA perform live again even if I don't get a chance to see him up close. His music is what matters most to me.
  10. I hope to see too and to meet other MFCers!
  11. I'm not sure where the artists entrance would be at that venue. I go to a lot of concerts (besides MIKA) but I have only waited afterward at the MIKA concert in Seattle 2009. We just waited around after the concert. We didn't know if he would come over to talk to us or not because of the late time. Also that was right after he injured his ankle in LA and he performed the entire show in a walking cast so he was looking really tired. But he came over to say hello and had his picture taken with us. When we left the theater we saw his bus so we just waited there until he came out. He came out the main doors at that venue not a separate artists entrance. He talked with us some more and signed some autographs. His people were telling him to hurry (they had to drive up to Canada and it was after midnight) but he took his time. I don't know if it is like this at every MIKA concert but I felt as though he truly appreciated his fans and he was happy we were there.
  12. Thanks for the pictures. It gives me some idea of what the interior looks like. It looks as though anywhere you are at, you will have a pretty good view. I'm so happy to see MIKA perform again! Three years is a long, long time.
  13. Does anyone know how this venue is for seating? Do you get a decent view from the balcony? Are there seats in the balcony? I was thinking of going to the balcony as well. My husband is coming with me and I know he would not be comfortable right in front of the stage. (unlike me!!!) He tolerates my MIKA obsession but doesn't really share my love of MIKA's voice and music. I do want to stay afterward and hopefully see MIKA. He stayed and talked to us after the Seattle 2009 concert and I was so impressed that someone would choose to spend some time with their fans.
  14. It will be great to meet other MFC'ers! I can't wait!
  15. From what i can tell, you can buy them from the venue website on Friday.
  16. If anyone stops being a fan of a musician because of who the musician loves, then they weren't much of a fan anyway. MIKA will never lose me as a fan. I love his voice, his music and his showmanship. His music makes me happy. His music makes me dance. There isn't enough of that in the world anymore. And that is why I am proud to be a MIKA fan!
  17. To some people, MIKA memorabilia is worth more to the heart than money is. I am glad it was able to bring in that much money for a worthy cause and I am sure the buyer will treasure it always.
  18. Thank you for the friend request!

  19. The same thing happens in the states where I live. I have called local radio stations to request that they play Mika and I am told that they can't decide what goes on the air. In fact, they usually don't even know who Mika is! I even went so far as to send actual CD's of TBWKTM to a couple of stations. I know that they don't use CD's anymore for radio feed but I did it just to get his music out there. I figured if someone at the radio station played his CD for themselves they might push the "people in charge" to play Mika on the air. I don't see how people can know who Mika is if they don't play him on the radio. I have never heard a Mika song on our local stations, not even Grace Kelly. It is just sad. I know if he was played on the radio a lot of people would enjoy it...most of my friends love his music and thank me for telling them about him. Otherwise, they never would have known.
  20. I know the feeling! But I never get tired of telling everyone about Mika. They may say "Who's Mika?" at first but by the time I am through with them, they will know who Mika is! And yes, I agree, Mika is the best and most popular artist of the world!
  21. Welcome Kaitlin! Keep up the good work and keep on spreading Mika's music!
  22. I too thought it was odd that he started out with a North American tour instead of a European one. I wonder if he was thinking that starting out in North America might cause the US warm up to him a little. I wish the US would. We really need his beautiful music here! Where I live, he is never played on the radio and I haven't seen any TBWKTM video on US TV (in my area). He was on Ellen and David Letterman, which helped, but I wish they could have done more. I try to do my part. The day TBWKTM was released I purchased CD's for some of my friends as gifts and as a way to promote his music. Most of them hadn't heard of him before except my praises about him. I told them that if for some reason they didn't like the CD to please pass it on to one of their friends. I figured that if it wasn't going to get played on the radio this would be the next best thing. But most of my friends really liked their CDs and wanted to keep them! And here's a funny story....I gave a CD to one of my friends who didn't really care for MIKA's music. But she took the CD home anyway to play it for her husband. His reaction was so-so. Last weekend, she left her husband with her grandson while she went shopping. Her husband was playing The Beatles when she left. When she came back home, lo and behold, MIKA was playing, full-blast, and both her husband and grandson were dancing around the room! She said to her husband, "I thought you didn't really like this music?" He replied, "I guess it is growing on me. I am starting to really like it." So the moral of my story is that most people are probably a little slower at accepting MIKA's music. It might take them awhile to say "Hey, I like this". It is just a matter of getting the music out to the masses. Where I live in the US, this is next to impossible. I agree that MIKA is in it for the long haul. Just because it isn't at the top of the charts right now doesn't mean that it won't be a success. It will.
