  1. Ugh, what a ridiculous accusation! The other Philly Big Girls and I were standing backstage RIGHT BESIDE HIM at the first two notes of "Relax" (botched costume change meant they had to run the mic down to him), and trust me, the sound is COMING FROM HIM. It practically exploded right out of him! So whoever is accusing of lip-syncing needs to get their facts straight >
  2. Haha, that was so adorable! <3 He really handles the tripping well, too. There was one time that he tripped over some cords and just went, "Oops!" with a sheepish little laugh and glance at the audience. SO cute!
  3. Haha, true story! You know you're a kid at heart when you still go, "Oh my GOD, look at all the shiny COLORS! *_____*" every video.
  4. I'm doing pretty well as it is Making the rent, at least, haha! Some of the auditions are just rough, though x.x Went up to NYC to audition for Disney, waited seven hours in line, and got all of 15 seconds to sing. Too big x.x* Le sigh! I was hoping that, since it wasn't a face character roll, maybe they'd consider me x.x Oh well! (At least I sang my ass off!)
  5. Ahhh, we got called models! I may pee my pants with glee! <3
  6. Found a nice'n clear vid of Big Girl with Jamie, Maureena, Angela and I! <3
  7. Agreed! And absolutely! There is NO WAY I will ever miss a Philly Mika concert!! (Heck, when I have enough moolah, I am TOTALLY traveling to see him as well <3) Also, I know I offered this time, but a standing offer for all of you: My house is ALWAYS open to Mika fans, so if you'd rather chill with me instead of shelling out for a hotel, you are totally welcome! So just keep it in mind
  8. I just finished up my vocal performance degree So now I can officially say that I'm a professional opera singer, yay! Right now, I'm doing mostly religious gigs, weddings, etc. etc, as well as teaching lessons. I intend to go back to school next year and finish up a teaching degree (just in case!), after taking this year off to work and do some auditions, just to get audition experience under my belt
  9. Haha, yup! It was one of the top nights of my LIFE, straight up
  10. AHHH, and how could I forget?! To get themselves pumped before the show backstage, Mika and the band formed a little circle and did a clapping version of what (I think?) turned out to be the trashcan-rhythm intro to Lollipop! So cute! <3
  11. Oh my God, you guys are DELIGHTFUL <3 Wish I could've gotten there earlier, but it definitely worked out!
  12. Well, I guess I'll sneak in late to the party, here! Just saw Mika in Philly with my girlfriend. I was the far left Big Girl, if anyone in here saw the show, too!
  13. Ahhhh, it was wonderful! Got there around 5:15, and as soon as I got out of my car, Jamie asked if I'd be a BG, to which I said, "Hellll yes!", haha! (I still have NO IDEA why ANYONE would refuse o.o I left my girlfriend in the line, and she was happy for me!) I was soooo scared when Jamie was taking me around to Mrs. P to check if I was big enough. I just recently dropped 25 lbs and was like, "AUUUGH, NOOOO, HOW CAN THIS BEEE?!". Luckily, though, I was still juuuust big enough (had to tuck my shirt into my corset to keep the girls from popping out XD). So for anyone wondering, a 14 still makes the cut! Anyway, backstage was AMAZING. They had us wait in the catering area, and Mika came by and said a brief hello as he was grabbing some food After the open, he also did his quick-change right in front of us BGs, and they ran the mic down the entrance ramp (I guess the change didn't go fast enough?) so that he could sing the first bit of Relax. And POW, were those first two notes powerful. I swear, I felt it vibrate in my ribs! Dancing to BG was straight up DELIGHTFUL. The audience was getting revved up by then, and like it was already mentioned, Mika and the band sang back at us! I was indeed one of the girls who wriggled back into the crowd (thank you, security friend!) near the front to meet up with Kris (my ladyfriend) again The crowd around us was SO pumped. I know I was howling my guts out, haha XD After the show, Kris and I both waited to see Mika, and got lucky and landed right in the front-and-center. Some girls right behind us were being so disrespectful to staff, though Even the manager! I was like, "Don't you want to see Mika for more than five seconds? Then stop hassling people!" Waited about an hour for him to come out, sooo worth it! He signed a poster for me, and one of the balloons I'd caught after Lollipop. When I got home and hung up the poster (along with the ticket stub, balloon, and hair tie I got backstage. I know, I'm a packrat. I've still got some confetti I caught the last time he was here!), I pressed my cheeks in one corner, so my Big Girl UV paint cheek stripes live on! Overall, PHENOMENAL night <3 Being a Big Girl was SO on my bucket list, haha! What a dream come true! (Thank you Jamieee! <3)
  14. Ooh, count me in, I love theatre! My list: Sweeney Todd (in it right now as a lady-Pirelli, haha!) Fiddler on the Roof Candide Adding Machine Repo! The Genetic Opera (okay, so it's a movie, but it's a musical and was onstage first!) Passion Rocky Horror Cabaret (Alan Cumming as the emcee = <3!!)
  15. English, Italian, and French over here
  16. Haha, no prob! I'm used to it, I'm a multi-fandom girl (Repo! The Genetic Opera fandom = Everyone's house is pretty much open, haha!) I can't wait for the show, though! Ahhh, it's going to be so much fun!
  17. Yup, Mysti, I'm seeing him on the 18th! I'm so excited!!
  18. Ahhh, adorable! I've always been a sucker for 2-gender-in-1 outfits, so I actually liked the dancers. And I kinda' liked that they weren't doing big, flare-y moves, too. Plus, the marionette moment was super-cute <3 And the outfit, with the capped sleeves, ahhh!! Delightful!
  19. Hey guys! <3 I live in West Philly, and it's just a quick jaunt on the Subway or via car for me. D'you want me to bring anything? Also, what time do you think would be okay to get in line? I have a shark dive at 3:00 (BEST DAY EVER, RIGHT? *_* Mika and sharks!!), but I should be able to be there by 4-5. Is that waaayyy too late? Anyway, if anybody needs a place to stay, my house is messy and small, but there's a roof over your head! It'd probably be floorspace, but we have some sleeping bags (and you can bring your own if you want) and I'll feed you amply! Just PM me
  20. Hey all! I'm Maggie, an opera singer from the West Philly area, and HOLY CRAP, am I excited for the 18th, haha! <3 My best friend recommended "Life In Cartoon Motion" to me when it came out, and I was hooked from the second it started I saw Mika at the Electric Factory on the Dodgy Holiday tour, and I can definitely count it among the top 10 nights of my whole life - SO energizing! Anyway, I can't wait to meet all you fun folks!
