  1. I really like the loungy vibe to it! Guess this album is going into a whole different direction soundwise compared to his previous ones. We may hear him more on the radio now: I actually heard the Yo-Yo R3H4B remix as I was playing a random playlist during outdoor sports. My heart rate went up; and not because of the cardio I was doing!
  2. He’s alive and working hard, as always! Wonder if this is for the soundtrack or for his upcoming album? I would think soundtrack, because I can imagine Wouter doing the drumming part for the album. And he thanked the MFC for the donation, I’m so happy he’s happy about our birthday gift ❤️ I hope he read through the birthday comments, because those are all positive and will hopefully compensate for the other hateful ones he has received this week.
  3. Honey, you know me; I have energy for 10, I don’t need y’all hungover If you are, it won’t be a collective effort and I will truly have my Duracell bunny moment thinking I need to compensate
  4. I sifted through the comments the other day to see if they were still so appalling: fortunately there are also many comments that are condemning the way some have initially responded. The problem with social media is that people truly have no filter and it is in our human culture to say something when it’s negative, but hardly when it’s positive. Little off topic, but: the other day a man came up to me in the grocery store. He said “I just want to say I really like your aura and energy, that’s all.” We later chatted a little bit - he wasn’t trying to chat me up, he was a gay man paying it forward, because he told me that someone once told him something similar and it STILL lifts him up to this day thinking about it. So let’s pay it forward and for those in Verona - let’s show him our support. It doesn’t have to be grandeuse, we just have to show up. I think our collective energy will definitely be felt by him, even if the stage is far away. He has said in interviews the audience feels like a unity and he responds to it, so let’s unite and dance!
  5. Late afternoon is a good idea! And you’re right, we will see where to go from there 😊 (When we end up all hungover at Mika’s gig the next day, it is ehhhh, not our fault )
  6. I actually think they are giving the money back, because they cannot know if they can offer the same show for the same price in the future. What if it truly has to do with rising costs (I’ve heard Mika is not the only one cancelling his tour, it happens in Germany apparently a lot as well at the moment), then the only way to cover it is to know how much the costs will be… especially electricity wise, since his shows use a LOT of lamps.
  7. I usually draw to express myself, but I haven’t been able to put anything on paper…
  8. I will be honest, as I read this discussion I slightly got my hopes up… But that’s just wishful me reading what I would like to see Boy oh boy, it’s slowly sinking in now
  9. I take the people (who have been to the Arena di Verona) their word for it. It is a special venue and I believe it’s an absolute honour to perform there. My guess is that Mika insisted on performing in the Arena - even if it means he will have to pay money on top - because of how much it means to him and his fans who know the (may it be historical and/or symbolical) significance of this venue. With the Philharmonie de Paris it was only at the very end of the second night that everyone went to the front. I believe in Sardegna there were VIP rows and behind that were fans, so he wanted his fans to be close and dance. With Perpignan people just went but I heard the stage was truly far away, so it was very inviting to do so. Where I’m getting to is… I think every venue and concert has their own story as to why the people ran to the front, just like in the three examples above. However, if it’s true and Mika is honoured to perform at the Arena di Verona, he will abide by the rules out of respect for the venue. I think
  10. My other theory is that: didn’t he say that tension is more important than love? Okay, he said this in the context of a romantic relationship, but since we’re in a parasocial relationship with him, I can honestly say: I feel a whole lotta tension! To respond to what @carafonand @mellodyhave said, the thing with the kind of emotion that was provoked: I am 100% sure it was never his intention, it’s (as impersonal as it sounds, I do not mean to sound insensitive) collateral damage to the cancelling of the tour. Unfortunately he will not be available to console us, but fortunately we have eachother. So let’s do exactly that! In the other topic we already spoke about meeting at Giardini Vittorio Emanuele II and do a Picknick on the evening where the first concert would take place ❤️
  11. Poor bloke it worked in 2020 though! But by his own free will (I think?! I hope!?)
  12. I am afraid he does… maybe not all of them, just skim through, but they are awful… No wonder he is not saying anything. Anything he says will not be taken lightly, I’m afraid. I just hope it will not affect him too much. Wish the voices that put it into perspective more were louder.
  13. Because he is scared and nervous in equal measure and that would be his facial-survival-mode expression
  14. In all honesty I think he truly is hiding from social media. All the negative comments he has received is out of proportion… yes we are all sad, but I’m very sure he is bothered by it just as much as we are - from a different perspective, but just as bothered. I am still quite numb from the news, just as everyone else.. let’s start planning a get together WITHOUT KIDNAPPING ANYONE PLEASE
  15. I leave you girls alone for a few hours and WHAT! No wonder Mika is missing, he is scared and is hiding from the bunch of you
  16. Maybe we can meet in the garden (Giardini Vittorio Emanuele II) that is between the Arena and the theater for a big picknick. There are enough restaurants near to get food and drinks I think. This way it’s open for everyone and we don’t need to worry about a restaurant that can hold an X amount of people. How about that? I will definitely join!
  17. Bonjour Isa, when we have tickets already for Arena di Verona on the 19th, we don’t need to take any action. Confirmation is only needed if you have tickets to any of the other shows and you would like to “convert” your ticket to the Arena di Verona show.
  18. Yes exactly, let’s meet and still spend the time together. I’m not only going to Mika concerts for Mika (gasp!), I come for this magical element before and after.. and I’m sure we can create it even in absence or a concert. (Trust me, we can, I’m the expert remember )
  19. Ohh thanks Deb for posting this! Still very stunned by the news. This is a similar feeling when the shows in Boston and NYC were canceled, but back then we were physically together and had a huge bouquet of flowers to give to the people in Timesquare… It is so very sad, for many reasons. The joy leading up to the event, connecting with friends and spending time together, seeing the show, seeing Mika… It’s like a bubble of immense joy just kind of went “poof” in front of our eyes. Now it all feels like a faraway dream. Fortunately there is Verona, I hope to see many of you there.
  20. I am still somewhat confused what Ticketone and Ticketmaster need to apply for a refund (so far only Rome will be an automatic refund when you bought on Ticketone.it, but I wonder about the other shows as well…). But I think we are all somewhat dazed and confused after the news yesterday. Fortunately we have a few days to sort it out, although I do hope both of them will give an automatic refund to prevent a lot of hassle and confusion amongst the fans for the canceled dates.
