I don't speak French but it's the same in Spanish. So it's probably common for all Romance languages. Actually, now when I'm thinking about it, even in Czech you would say "give me your hand" without "your" (sounds very strange with it, you usually only have your own hands anyway, it's also a common mistake in translations from English/German) so maybe it's rather something typical for Germanic languages. (Sorry, I studied linguistic and translation so I always think too much about these things... :lmfao:)

    Languages are fascinating!  :original:

Hahaha, "if you're on the train, come say Hi. There's about a hundred kids dressed as ghouls and monsters, they don't have to come say Hi" :lmao:

    and also...

Mika last week: "I don't like chocolate"
Mika today: "we've been eating crisps and chocolates and caramel bites for 2 days". :naughty: He's full of contradictions, as always. :teehee:

Is that Adam Goodall in the corner?

  3. Mika's voice sounds a bit different to me when he sings the melody (not referring to the whispering) - I wonder what the song will sound like when he sings it live.

I find it soothing and it does seem dreamlike. It seems to reflect in music the muted colors and softness of the billowy clouds on the album cover. "Il suono è ovattato" I would say in Italian.

The song has a catchy tune and I found myself swaying to the music almost immediately. Don't know what the words say (except for the chorus).

    I like it  :original:

    Also, it won an award:

And Mika apparently was filming for the UK version of the show today in London:

They're working on The Piano Christmas special!

I checked again because of the "software", and the only paragraph where I can find it refers to software like viruses and bots, I think. At least that's how I understand it. Probably also AI, so if you  make your voice sound like Freddie Mercury's, you might get disqualified. :mf_rosetinted: Anyway, I don't think it's an issue to cut videos or audio.

I've filmed LOTS of takes today (as I had the house to myself for the only time in the next 2 weeks) and decided that I'll do an actual video - I just need to cut it together from different takes, impossible for me to get it all right in just one take. And it'd be a bit boring to watch too, I guess, if nothing's happening except just me standing there and singing. I've also filmed a few takes in front of a green screen, so maybe I'll try some advanced video editing and add a background to some parts of the video.

I guess after today I know the lyrics. 😅 Tho I still have to concentrate hard on remembering them fast enough.

Since they will probably use only a few seconds of the song from each fan, do you think it might be ok to submit even just a one- minute video? I imagine that they've requested the whole song so they can edit whatever they need.

There's no way I'd be able to do what you described above :original:

  6. When it was mentioned that Mika seems to mix up dates at times, I was reminded of an exchange in this 2013 interview on Italian TV where he had trouble identifying the month when he started learning Italian. He laughed it off saying he was dyslexic (from 7.35).

I watched the Le Divan video for the first time yesterday and realized that the interviewer was attributing Mika's sleepwalking as a child to the bullying he experienced. Was Mika  bullied in France too or was the man unaware that Lycèe Charles de Gaulle is actually in London?

Dickie's Aussie terminology leaves Mika blushing

A recent chat with Dickie had one of the most prolific pop musicians of the 21st century second-guess what he was hearing out of the Nine entertainment editor's mouth.

Mika has been a regular on radio and streaming platforms for the past 16 years, ever since his number one banger Grace Kelly hit the airwaves.

And to celebrate turning 40 recently, the singer has a new song, Cest la Vie out, and not one, but two new albums on the way.

He joined Dickie on Today Extra to talk about the milestone.

"It's funny because if I said turning 40 didn't mean anything, I'd just be lying to you," Mika told Dickie.

"Two years ago I thought I really want to get into my 40s furiously creative and a little scared - not scared because of getting older but scared because I'm taking risks like I would in my 20s."

But when Dickie assured Mika he would enjoy being in his 40s, that's when things got a little lost in translation.

"Take it from someone with a few more miles on the speedo, your 40s are a time to be enjoyed, I urge you to embrace it," Dickie said.

Mika was all for it, saying he just hoped "life doesn't throw me any curveballs along the way".

But he did ask Dickie if he meant actually wearing speedos, the popular swimwear.

"Speedo means speedometer, we abbreviate everything in Australia," Dickie clarified, with his guest bursting out laughing.

"Oh, I thought you meant swimming more miles in your speedos," Mika laughed.

"There I was visualising you swimming across the Pacific in your speedos."

But Dickie assured Mika he is more of a boardies (or boardshorts) kind of guy.

Cest la Vie is available on streaming platforms now and Mika's two as-yet-untitled albums will be out later this year.

I'm intrigued by the description of the English album: "crazy, art-pop (?), experimental, super-joyous and anarchic record."

Is Mika perhaps heading to Australia next year?

The thing is I also have to think about travel arrangements. If I can't get tickets for both of us by maybe December time then I might have to give London a miss.

Bless my Mum though, she said I could get a standing ticket and she'll go shopping and stay at the hotel on the day instead! 😭  There's no way I could go all the way down to London with her and not have her with me for the concert.

Manchester is much MUCH closer to me, it might be possible I'll go there on my own...

That's really sweet of you to think of your mum! ❤  I really hope something works out for you.

And now it looks like Dublin is sold out!

Edit: only resale tickets from time to time

I checked earlier and there were still a few seats on the upper level. They've gone fast!

    Happy for Mika!

This is the gig I would have chosen since the date and flight cost ( from Naples) were more feasible for me. But I'm still hoping for a date in Italy.

    Hi everyone!!

I'm Diana from Indonesia. I just joined MFC on September 15th. First of all, thank you MFC for allowing me to join. I would like to greet MFC members who have joined for a long time. I know that not many fans from my country join MFC, maybe because of lack of information, but that doesn't mean there aren't many Mika fans in Indonesia. I've only known Mika for the past few months, which is sad..😢, but better late than never!! 🤭🤣

It turned out that Mika had done a concert in Indonesia in 2013, which was even sadder😭, because I missed the concert..😖. I hope Mika is willing to come again to make a concert in Indonesia to meet his "Hardcore Fans", Mika's nickname for fans in Indonesia😆. Now this country has changed a lot, unlike 10 years ago.

I got to know Mika through YouTube, I was interested in hearing the song Happy ending, that was Mika's song that I heard for the first time and I love it, finally I looked for information about Mika on the internet and his other songs, and I found out information about MFC and are interested in joining so that I can stay updated with information about Mika. I am happy to join at MFC to make communication and sharing information with members from all over the world.

I hope everyone is always happy and healthy.

    Nice to see u all..!!🤗

    Hello @Divera Zilvania

I didn't know Mika had been to Indonesia  and that he had fans there! Glad you've joined MFC. 😊 The Sinfonia Pop videos are what turned me into a Mika fan about 3 years ago.  This is one of my favorite  interviews (in case you haven't seen it). I think Mika's funny and already shows he doesn't take himself too seriously:
