I'd love to be a noob & say urhawt alot BUT .... I have a substantial amount of reading to catch up on here ... Tried to get in touch with the planets but they weren't taking any calls. I'm sure she'll be back once she's sorted things out away from the MFC. I can understand how it feels to be "in the know" and get told things secretly.. And then not being told something and wondering why you're no longer included. But in this case, if that is the problem, then it wasn't just one persons secret, and so it would be breaking someone else's secret too, which means the secret keeper betrays that trust.. Though, I don't think it needed to be kept a secret - but I can understand fully why it was kept on the down low. For the record - I'm not speaking of MFC mods/admins telling me things because I didn't know about this like the rest of you. Neither Cazzie or Fred informed me and I talk to one or the other just about every day. The number of things I've been told in secret.... is probably about 3:naughty: I'm really not "in the know" or in touch with those "in the know". But you know that it is around, and you wonder what's wrong with you that you aren't included as well. (Or at least, I do from time to time.) But because I haven't really been "in", I think it hurts less than it would if I had been "in the know". I still can't say I really get Wendi's reaction, but now that I've thought about all that, I can see why her reaction would be stronger than mine. Been busy trying to catch up with the openness thread that just keeps going and going... and which I'd not managed to get up to date with before I had a busy day that kept me away on and off. Oh, I wanted to comment on something you said in that thread but it was waaaay to far back to still be relevant. You mentioned the French phrase about a lie and truth and boots etc and I got such a surprise to find it was a French phrase cos I was only familiar with it from Terry Pratchett... I thought the Mods who went the SW afterparty were uncharacteristically naive in thinking people wouldn't get to hear about it - a pre-emptive mention would have saved most of the grief. But then I was a civil servant for years and engrained with the culture that you always disclose any sort of gift or preferential treatment. Oh well, we get the keys on Monday, I will take photos :biggrin2: I really have to go now, damnit, I really only came (1.5 hour journey each way) to get my new laptop charger But, you know, I had to test it out ... and use the internet. *cherishes* I'm going to see Skipping Girl Vinegar tonight and I'm super excited. I saw them on Thursday and they are THE GREATEST BAND EVER! You will love them. No one in the world couldn't love them, they are the most lovable band in existance. They all have big grins on their faces the entire time they are performing/permanently, and it forced you to have a gigantic smile on your face too I didn't film anything on Thursday because it was TOO awesome. There was roughly 15 people in the audience and the lead guy kept saying how it was a living room and went around and made us introduce ourselves at one point. I talked to lead-guy (Mark) afterwards and it was the most coherent fantastic perfect conversation I have ever had with a perfect stranger. He thanked us repeatedy for comign and then gave us presents. HOLY CRAP YOU GUYS, I DEMAND YOU FIND OUT WHEN SKIPPING GIRL VINEGAR ARE COMING TO A TOWN NEAR YOU AND INSIST THAT YOU GO SO YOU CAN EXPERIENCE HOW FANTASTIC THEY ARE. She had a stroke and went to the doctor and they didn't even notice, ****! Does anyone know what a "while" means - days/weeks/months? Apparently strokes are that much like headaches it's hard to tell the difference Stroke recovery usually takes weeks at the very least. Often it can take months. Tegan is in for a long journey and will need our support and encouragement even more as time goes on, as sometimes it can seem very slow and people can become disheartened if they don't see really obvious improvements. I think her determined streak will help her though. Stubborn more like! I'm expecting a kinda long recovery, especially with the finer motor skills... Flowers for Teegs from Mika arrived at Zoe's at 2:50pm this afternoon accompanied with a message. They are HUGE!!!!! Zoe's taking pics from multiple angles as we speak.. And then taking them into Teegs once visiting hours start. More details soon.. I have to say, I really love Mika at times like these. So do I I also sent some flowers to Tegan on behalf of MFC. I'm not quite sure how it works in NSW with the prerequisites for teaching, but the two sorts of maths are called Mathematics (the more advanced one) and General Maths, as well as extensions. I'm doing mathematics and extension 1 (I may be dropping extension in ear 12 though). But I think I would want to be a sort of English/history high school teacher. Haha, I probably should be trying to gain some independence, but I'm just lazy. Far as I can remember it's Mathematics and English... Vegies!! Berocca!! Zoe's not a vegie person... Have the Professionals given any of you any clue on how to avoid the seizures/strokes then?? Yeah, it's called drugs... Okies, just a quick update... and prob repeating stuff... They have me on anti coagulants cause my blood has a tendency to clot, so on warfarin for the rest of my life. Have to get blood tests every month to check anti coag levels. Clots still there, not really clearing but not getting worse either. Currently working on getting me off heparin (IV stuff) and making sure the levels are good. Also, I have an MRI on Monday. And apparently meeting with a haematologist on Monday as well.. Oh, And getting poked and prodded all the time by med students, interns and meeting with retired neurologists cause I'm an unusual case. Arm and leg are still pretty weak and struggling to walk, but getting there slowly. Once I go home, will be in rehab for a while. I think that pretty much covers it, so I best go to bed... FY &GN!
