A. Clay
Cheers! December 10 is National Lager Day. Who's in for an after work pint? #TodayNFood @Brewimentary What is Lager? According to Michael Jackson's Beer Styles (at http://www.beerhunter.com): "Any beer made by bottom-fermentation. In Britain, lagers are usually golden in colour, but in continental Europe they can also be dark. In the German-speaking world and The Netherlands, the term may be used to indicate the most basic beer of the house, the biere ordinaire." Edited December 10, 2009 by A. A. Clay
HAD THESE at my favorite SPANISH RESTAURANT today-- There are many different types of turrón. Not to be missed is the Jijona variety, with a soft texture, and the Alicante variety, which is hard. and also the Polvoron! [in Spanish, polvorón literally means powder cake. They are made using finely ground almonds, Ibérico shortening, sugar, and not much else, so they literally crumble in your mouth! The result is a sweet, slightly crunchy treat enjoyed throughout Spain during Christmas.] They always have them for the holiday season: Great with a double espresso! Edited December 11, 2009 by A. sienna
Here is a very simple but very good Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe 1 Cup Of Peanut Butter Crunchy or Smooth 1 Cup Of Graunulated Sugar 2 Tablespoons Of Flour 1 Large Egg Mix all the ingredients together very well in a large bowl. You will want a dark not shiny cookie pan to bake these in. Once you have the ingredients throughly mixed take one spoon full at a time & drop it by the tablespoon full onto a greased dark cookie sheet & after you have dropped the pan full of the batter take a fork and press down on the top of each ball of cookie dough both ways to make the marks like those on the cookies in the photo below. Bake each batch of cookies in a preheated 375 degree oven until the cookies are golden brown. This makes some of the best Peanut Butter Cookies . . . . . . you will ever eat. I've made the cookies! The recipe was perfect but the cookies wasn't so delicious as I expected, I'm crazy about peanuts but I prefer the real thing!
