My Report

Ok so yesterday, I had the time of my life. Really. It was one of the best experience ever. I got to be a Lollipop Girl in Neuchâtel!

First of all, and I think some of you already know that, Neuchâtel is like my second town, because it's where I'm studying. I'm a uni student there, and Festi'Neuch was just a couple of meters from my faculty. I was really happy that Mika came here, in my home. He couldn't have come closer to me, I think. I felt sentimental about that. I know it's stupid, but it's still the way it made me feel. And I still feel this way. Wow. Mika came in my uni town. Great =D

Ok so I met Nanou, Olga and Maggy at 11:30am, which was WAY too early, as people only started arriving at around 4pm (the doors opened at 5pm). So yeah. But it was still nice and we could chat and be crazy together. The weather was cold and foggy at first but then the clouds cleared away and the sky was blue and the sun shining ^^. It was cool, because we could go to the toilets in my uni (aaaah so proud I am lool) (ok that's THE very important detail, but I had to tell it).

At around 1:30pm-2pm (I think), we saw Jimmy, David, and Maria (Nanou and cie told me she was the woman who took care of stuff and all). Maria came to say hi and she said they'd obviously need some BGs and LGs. I was really happy because as Mika didn't need any BGs/LGs at Pinkpop festival, I thought he wouldn't need any at Festi'Neuch either, so I was a bit disappointed. I could have been a LG in Basel, but I wanted to see the show, so I decided I wouldn't do it and that I'd try to be a LG in Neuch. So when Maria said she needed some, I said “me! Me! I want to be a BG/LG!” and I told her a friend of mine would like to do it too but that she'd arrive later. She said no problem and she showed me a place to meet at 5pm. I was really excited!! We asked some other girls and we found four interested people, I think. At 5pm, we met Maria, who was, as a true Swiss woman, on time. She said she'd look for more people and that we'd meet again at 6pm. She said I'd be a LG. I don't have enough boobs to fill in a BG costume. Damned. Anyway, how could I have been unhappy!!

So we walked around the festival and I had a nice milkshake with a cow straw, really cute (remember I love cows lol). Anyway, 6pm arrived very quickly and we met Maria again. Then she gave us yellow wristbands to access the lodges (ta da da) and we followed her there. I saw John and said “hi” with a huge smile and he said “hi” too, pointing at me with a smile; I think he recognized my face. She made us try the costumes, to see if they fitted us and she was really happy. She said the LG costumes were perfect for us :D. I was happy because I saw Mika's Dr John hat haha. Then we went outside the lodges to train. And she designated me to lead the group, because even though the bride was first, we couldn't see her feet, so I had to lead. I felt important. And really proud. She said it was perfect (not just me, eh, the whole group, we were super great =D). After that, she said we could walk around the festival again and do whatever we wanted but that we'd have to meet again at 9pm to get dressed and all and she said she'd give us more info then.

We went to buy some food and we sat for a while.

Then we went to see a bit of the Moonraisers show, which was not bad. Reggea kinda music. But I didn't really care to be honest. I wanted to get dressed and all. I kept looking at my watch. I wanted 9 o'clock to arrive!!!

And 9 o'clock arrived, eventually. So we went to the lodges again. There I saw Cherisse and said “hi Cherisse!!” and she said “hi” with a huge smile. Wow it made me so happy!!! Soon I'd be on stage with her, too! And then we got dressed. Skirt, dress, socks (I loved the sock haha so cute, I wanted to steal them XP), pink flat shoes. I felt great. Really, that was an awesome sensation. I was a Lollipop Girl! I was concretely part of the Mika World. It was not difficult to look happy on the pictures really. I was so happy. I didn't even think about smiling. I just smiled =D

And when everybody was dressed, Maria put a kind of long black coat on our costumes, to hide them. I said we looked like flashers (whoo hoo I learned a new word). She laughed and she said it made her think of dementors (from Harry Potter). I like that. So we were the dementors. Haha. Soooo funny. “Come on dementors!” She said “no smoking, no playing in the dirt, please” and then she said we could go and see Mika hehe. She explained everything, that we'd have to come out at the end of “Blame it on the Girls”. So we shoved our way through the crowd and tried to get a good spot. I arrive in Neuchâtel at 8am and started queueing at 11:30am, so please, I wanted a good spot.

We didn't get a good spot. It was not catastrophic, but it was not good. There was a woman in front of me, with her three sons, and she took them in her arms so they could see something. Really, do you bring your 6-7-year-old sons to a gig like that? Do you? I went to my first concert when I was like 14. Anyway, that's another story. She was really p*ssing me off, telling me I shouldn't push, when she pushed too. And behind me, there was a psycho with a camera and she literally leaned on me to try and take pictures. I turned and said “sorry, can you please stop pushing me?”. But it didn't work, so I rested on her, it was less tiring XD I also instructed some people around me, one of them who thought one spoke French in Lebanon and another who thought Mika was Iranian

The gig was great. He was really happy and jumped and danced. On fire, like always. I really enjoyed “Dr John”. The intro with the suitcase, that was really really funny. And the performance was great, I loved it. This song is amazing! “Stuck in the Middle” was, as always, amazing. I absolutely love this song live. It's always always fabulous, but always different, and his trumpet solo, it's worth all the gold in the world as we say in French ^^. He made some mistakes with the piano and the rhythm, and god, I love it when he makes mistakes. It's just too funny. I can't help laughing my head off haha. Well that was amazing; you know it, it is always amazing =D

In the middle of “Blame it on the Girls”, Elena (a friend who was also a LG) told me the others were already out. Yikes!! Chop chop, we made our way out the tent, as quickly as possible, still jumping and singing on “BIOTG” haha. People looked at us weird. We didn't care, soon we'd be on stage!!! So we met the others, and Maria was there, of course. We went backstage (aaaaaaaaah, I was starting feeling anxious, but in a good way you know, not like “oh my god, what am I doing, I'm gonna die!!” it was rather “oh my god, how luck am I? I'll soon be on stage, in Neuchâtel, with Mika, and I'll have a pure blast!!”). Maria helped us put our wigs on, and the masks for the BGs. Emilie got blond people. Too bad I couldn't see myself haha. I wanted the green veil (remember, I love green, and I couldn't have the green BG outfit, so I really wanted the green veil) and I got the green veil, yay!! They dressed up the bride too, who was realllllly beautiful :). Then Maria gave us the flowers and we made our way to the wings. Mika was singing “Happy Ending”, the bride got emotional (which is quite normal for a bride you might say) hahaha.

And then, the heavy and profound beat started and I wasn't excited any more. I was super concentrated. Left, right, left, right, do not walk on the bride's dress, left, right, look straight ahead, do not look at the audience, left, right. I smiled though, I couldn't help it, but I was really really focused. I didn't even see Mika, or anything else. I didn't know what was going on, I just knew I had to walk and stomp the floor. And then it was finished. We'd done it! Haha. And I got excited again because the partying-dancing-jumping would come soon!!!

Maria told us we could watch Mika backstage. And so that's what we did. Mika's got a nice back =P Lol no kidding, but really, it was interesting to look at the show from this perspective. We were all jumping and clapping and singing. I had a blast, even backstage :D After a while, the band arrived with the bins. Oh I really enjoyed the bin-drums from backstage. That was so cool!!! Don't know why I enjoyed it so much, maybe because I knew it would soon be our turn haha. I started feeling a bit nervous, but that was nothing compared to the excitement that rose and rose and rose!! And I couldn't stop smiling either. Wonderful sensation!!

And then, the other woman who took care of us beckoned us and I left my life behind and ran on stage, jumping already. I danced and danced. I gave everything I had, I was so happy and I could feel so much energy, from Mika, from the other LGs and BGs and from the audience! Once, the lights showed the audience and I saw all those people, jumping, singing and it made me SO happy!! That was it, I was part of the show. And I made the most of it. I love dancing too, so that was perfect!! Mika danced with the bride and he played with her elephant mask, that made me laugh so hard. He danced with a BG too, but I didn't see that, I was enjoying myself so much. Mika sang and danced around us. Aaaah that was awesome, extraordinary. Then it was the end of the song and Mika left, but we stayed, and so did the band. We didn't know if we had to leave so we stayed with the band for a while. I don't remember when we did that but we bowed, three times, and Mika was there, so it must have been before he left obviously. Haha it's a bit confused in my head now.

Mika came back (we had left then) to sing “Relax” as an encore and he invited two (or three?) girls from the front row on stage. Vicky and Kate and maybe someone else, but I can't remember. I was really happy for them. That's one of the reasons why I love Mika so much. He's spontaneous and generous and that's just amazing!! Then he left again and “Kick-Ass” started playing. I looked at Maria and asked if we could go, please? She thought about it, said Mika was not on stage any more and said yes. So we ran (well at least, I ran) on stage again (without our wigs, we were not incognito any more haha) and danced again! The band was crazy, I loved it. Jimmy high-fived us and then the band started a stupid choreography and we followed, that felt wonderful, really. Again I thought I was part of the thing and I felt so proud and lucky!! Then we left again. I left hopping, on a cloud, a bright, soft, energizing cloud :D

We didn't leave until Mika and his band did. We said hi, they said hi, we were all so happy. Then we went back to the lodges to change. I asked the woman if we'd take a picture with Mika and she said she didn't know yet. I was hoping for one, cause you know, well, you know right? Lol We changed, and we went outside, I prepared my present (Läckerli, a speciality from Basel, I thought I'd have enough chocolate haha) and my little puppet to sign, you know, just in case ^^. Then Maria and the other woman came and told us Mika would take a group picture, but that we'd have to do two groups. I placed myself in the middle because I knew Mika would come in the middle (canny Emilie, I know). Mika did come next to me and he asked how I was, looking at me, straight in the eyes. I said I was fine, thanks, but that my throat ached. That made him laugh, moron. Anyway, we took two pictures, you've seen one of them ^^. Then he took a picture with the other group.

I was not the only one with a present so Mika stayed, but I don't think he was supposed to... Anyway he stayed and I thought that was really nice of him. He got flowers, cards, a watch, a T-shirt and my Läckerlis. I explained what it was, and Mika took the box and looked curiously as it and said he didn't know it and I said, oh that's good, so you'll discover something new and he said yes with a big smile. And I said I hoped he'd enjoy them and he looked at me, right at me, gosh, I felt my legs flinch, and said “merci! Merci beaucoup” (= thanks, thanks a lot!). I had the impression that it came right from his heart, you know, it was a really sincere, honest, genuine, thank you. That means all the autographs in the world. And I already got two of them. No one asked for any autographs either, it wouldn't have been ok, don't know why... And we chatted for a while. A girl asked him about his dog, Gertrude, and Mika said he wasn't sure he still wanted to call her Gertrude. So I said he always wanted to change everything, also with the album's title. That made him laugh too mwa ha ha I like making him laugh :naughty: Then the same girl asked him why he didn't come in Switzerland more often and I couldn't help myself, I said something like “oh come on, he's come in Switzerland before and he'll come again in August”. That was NOT a moment to complain. He said he'd like to come to the Paléo again though, that's cool! Though I'm always abroad when there's the Paléo  haha. He said he didn't like the venue at Basel. He said the audience was great but that the venue itself was cold. It's kinda true, everything is in concrete there lol. And after a while he left and we said thank you again and he looked so happy (not as happy as me I think, but still haha). I told him “see you in St-Gall in August!”. He stopped, thought for a while, looked at me, smiled and said “oh yeah, right! See you there!” (or something like that). I don't know if he really remembered he'd come in St-Gall in August, but I thought it was really nice to say that. The whole M&G was in French by the way ^^.

He was really relaxed, and looked fresh and happy (fresher than me, gosh, LG job is sports!! haha). And it was the first time I could actually chat with him for a bit. And the way he looked at me to say thank you, he was so sincere. Mika is a truly lovely person. He gives us so much, and I thanked him for that too :D

:lg:

Here are my pictures and some I got from other people (I didn't take any pictures of the gig; I didn't have my camera, and I wouldn't have made any good pictures anyway... better wait for Nanou's and Olga's and Kate's I think ^^):

Thank you for your reports and sharing your feelings and happiness. I have the feeling I was there, too :) - and now I'm totally curious about the special SITM ;) and also the relax encore!!

I've got SITM on video. It was definitely one of the best performances of SITM. There was some sort of mistake at the beginning so Mika started laughing in a really adorable way and said that something like " me and my drummer are in completely different planets." I'll be uploading the vid later today.

Relax encore was also very special. I only have a few seconds on vid though. After Lollipop people were still cheering and chanting "mooooore" so he came back and said that since the audience was so good they'd have to do the gig all over again:wub2: absolutely everyone was singing along during the encore:wub2:

Lovely meeting you too Louiza!!! :D I'm impatiently waiting for your video!! :D

Youtube says the vid will be ready in 25 minutes:)

I wish I had a vid of Lollipop with everyone on stage. That was such a special moment of the gig when the girls got to be on stage and dance with the band and all the LG/BGs:wub2:

Also it was really funny that this guy who was working there was brought on stage to dance too. He was holding a broomstick and pretending it was a guitar, remember?:roftl:

This was such an amazing gig!!! Defitnitely the most fun concert I've ever been to. There were so many things happening... some really funny and some really special like the girls getting up on stage during Lollipop:wub2:

Also the interaction with the audience was fantastic. He said at some point that it was great that the summer festival tour was beginning with a concert like that. And he also said that the audience was "incroyable". How sweet is that:wub2:

Another funny moment happened during the band introduction. Since Martin got a really loud applause by the crowd Mika made everyone cheer for him twice. Also there was a singing competition between the two parts of the crowd during Lollipop. Btw I dont think thats ever happened during this song before, only on BIOTG or SITM. When Mika "divided" the audience in to two parts the people that were staning where he was pointing took a step either to the left or the right in order to actually form two groups for the competition. He said to someone "you have to pick a side".

I have only a few videos. I wish I had more but I was enoying the gig so much that I couldnt film everything.

I feel like writing once again that this gig was really special:wub2: Loved every minute of it:)

:teehee: That must be the reason why I didn't notice hahaha I didn't care about Mika :naughty: Haha untrue, I did care about him, I was part of his show you know, but during Lollipop, it was me, on stage, and the world watching. God that sounds pretentious haha. It was unbelievably brilliant!! :boing:

btw, did the girls who got on stage for relax wear any special costumes/make-up? because the last times mika picked single people from the audience to get on stage, it was because of their cool costumes (blackall costumes in munich, ingie+freddie in amsterdam)... if they did, would love to see pix! :biggrin2:

They had a pink star on their cheek and some pink hair, that's all :D (I think haha) and Wiki was all in pink, maybe that's why!

yeah, if they were the only ones with pink hair / facepaint, i'm sure that's reason enough for mika! :biggrin2:
