Mika, dopo RADIO ITALIA LIVE - IL CONCERTO 2019 a Palermo, a luglio canterà con Andrea Bocelli:

“Una figata!”. Ice cream anticipa il nuovo album di canzoni inedite del cantante che al Foro Italico svela su Instagram l’accoglienza dei fan.

Nella video intervista #atupertu, subito dopo le prove con l’orchestra, parla anche del suo tour di concerti:

“Invece di combattere il caldo, dobbiamo accettare che stasera va così! Mi hanno appena fatto un regalo molto utile, un piccolo ventilatore a forma di gelato!”.

ICE CREAM. A proposito di gelati Mika torna a RADIO ITALIA LIVE IL CONCERTO dopo aver lanciato il nuovo singolo che nel testo descrive un'estate con “39 gradi”, perfetto per Palermo, dove l'atmosfera è caldissima:

“Secondo me siamo a 41! Meglio cantare ‘Ice cream’ quando fa caldo, con il sole, piuttosto che sotto la pioggia: è un momento perfetto per questa canzone”, spiega il cantante che ha postato su Instagram il video della calorosa accoglienza riservata dal pubblico del Foro Italico di Palermo.

Mika ha composto Ice cream e parte del nuovo album My Name Is Michael Holbrook in Toscana:

“Ho scritto il disco in America, a casa mia, e dopo 2 anni di lavoro ho continuato per un po’ di settimane nella campagna toscana in questa casa dove c’era mia sorella: ho costruito un piccolo studio temporaneo con i giardinieri, ho messo tutto a posto in costume da bagno e ho composto questo inno dedicato al caldo, alle sue scomodità e al mix di fantasia provocato dal sole e dall’estate, insieme a una frustrazione totale”.

TOUR 2019. È la prima volta che un artista internazionale tiene così tante date e concerti nei palazzetti italiani: “Canto in tutto il mondo. Questo tour inizia a settembre a New York, poi andiamo in Messico, in Inghilterra e in Francia, dove c’è sempre stato un mercato molto importante per me: lì faccio 14-15 concerti. Voglio fare la stessa cosa in Italia, dal nord al sud: non sono uno dei super giganti artisti italiani che possono fare gli stadi, voglio fare i palasport come in Francia a modo mio, portando la mia festa ‘di sogno’, un party anni 80 di quasi 2 ore, come un miraggio”.

NUOVO ALBUM. L'idea per il prossimo disco è nata in un cimitero: “Due anni prima dell’Ice cream moment, sono andato su un road trip americano, da casa mia in Florida ho guidato per 11 ore verso Savannah in Georgia, il posto da dove viene tutta la famiglia di mio papà, una famiglia che non conosco bene, per niente. Sono sempre stato chiamato Mika ma il mio nome legale è Michael Holbrook Penniman Junior, il nome di mio padre. Però mia madre aveva deciso di cambiare il mio nome un’ora dopo la mia nascita. Quindi, in questo cimitero ci sono tutti i vecchi defunti della mia famiglia: ci sono tanti Richard, il nome del mio nonno, tanti Michael e tanti Holbrook. È stranissimo vedere il tuo nome su 5-6 tombe, rovinate dalla pioggia e dal passare del tempo; ho pensato: è molto eccitante e divertente, c’è una nuova parte di me che nasce da questo luogo dove ci sono tutti i morti. È stato un momento molto bello: sono tornato a casa e ho scritto ‘Io sono Michael Holbrook e sono nato nel 1983’”.

ANDREA BOCELLI. A luglio Mika canterà al Teatro del Silenzio con Bocelli, a sua volta ospite di RADIO ITALIA LIVE - IL CONCERTO nelle scorse edizioni: “Mi aveva già invitato a fare delle cose con lui e non ho mai potuto a causa di tempistiche e planning. Ora l’opportunità è arrivata: lui mi ha invitato attraverso sua moglie e suo figlio Matteo. Perfetto! Prima dei 10 giorni di vacanza che mi voglio prendere, finisco con un bel concerto con Andrea Bocelli duettando con lui e portando nuove canzoni lì… è fantastico! È veramente un grande: lui non ‘esiste’ solo nel mondo classico e non ‘esiste’ solo nel mondo pop; lui esiste lì, come il suo teatro: in mezzo alla campagna, ci sono tante persone che vengono dal mondo intero, dalla Cina all’America, per vedere questo uomo perché lui ha la sua bolla. Essere invitato ed entrare nella sua bolla per un attimo è una figata”.
