There's a girl next door in both, and the context of the lyrics when she's metioned are pretty similar. Holy Johnny He fell for the girl next door Johnny she said Johnny I can't be with you You're pretty but you're also a bore Finding love was not so easy Cause people thought that he was too peculiar So what was left for poor old Johnny At least he found out that Jesus loves ya I think there might be something there.. not quite sure what. I've noticed those similar words/phrases in his songs before, but I've never really thought about it actually meaning anything. It's a very interesting idea! I don't really see a connection, honestly. I mean, HJ, BB and Lollipop all have similar scenarios and sexual themes, but I'm not sure that they are interrelated. As far as HJ and BB go, Billy Brown seemed to be an older guy (I always pictured him at LEAST 30), and Holy Johnny is still very young. At 24, you typically wouldn't have 2 kids, a dog and a cautionary wife. That suggests that he is more settled in with this typical suburban "family" lifestyle. Johnny, on the other hand, seems to be a character who has spent most of his young adulthood sleeping around, then he found God and is now "Holy."
