  1. I won't be there 'til around 6 pm. I have to work tomorrow, and although I will leave work early I still have to get up to London from Northampton. I would have thought there will be a lot of people in the same boat. Although there will definitely be people in the queue before you I should have thought you will still be OK at 5 pm for a good spot. Lots of people who live and work in the capital will probably not have taken the day off work.
  2. Based on my experiences of open air gigs over the last few weeks my advice is to just ignore the weather forecasts. 16th June - The Feeling at Delamere Forest - forecast was for rain, rain, rain - we drove through torrential rain on Saturday afternoon. But when we arrived at the campsite it was dry, and the rain held off for the rest of the evening. Despite a few black clouds hanging over us, it didn't rain - and gig was great! 6th - 8th July - Cornbury Music Festival - the week leading up to this was very, very wet (there was all the flooding in the north). Forecasts was for more rain on two of the three days. Turned out to be one of the sunniest weekends of the year! Took wellies not sun cream and ended up getting burnt! So based on that I am ignoring the weather forecasts. I will take my raincoat just in case - but may leave my umbrella at home. They confiscated it at The Feeling gig, and when I went to collect it they had put a different numbered ticket on it to the number on the ticket that they gave me. Ended up throwing a tantrum to get my brolly back Trust me it'll be dry ... but please don't hold me to that
  3. Well, I have managed to sort out an outfit of sorts at short notice. Pink cowgirl hat, checked shirt and jeans ... I popped down to Toys R Us this afternoon and bought a toy gun and sheriffs badge and low and behold I am now a cowgirl Tickets arrived yesterday - bit scary cos they are e-tickets, so always the danger that seller has sold them to more than one person (oh well, will find out on Tuesday). Getting really excited now
  4. Marianne - that is such a fab bear - you are so talented
  5. Have finally bought tickets off E-bay - hurrah! Presume you are all meeting up early on in the day on Tuesday. I won't be able to get the day off work at such short notice , but hoping to leave a bit early. Will struggle to get there much before 6pm, so will probably end up miles back. But at least I'll be there No time to organise much of an outfit, but perhaps I can get some flashing hearts in time ...
  6. Excellent news that they are so quick to arrive. Tonight I have managed to get tickets to Somerset House , so I now need to get flashing hearts. I was worried I didn't have time. I will go and place my order now ... babs thanks so much for organising this ... you're an angel
  7. Please add me to the list! Out of interest - have you thought about setting up a petition site eg http://www.ipetitions.com/start-petition/
  8. Hi Sivan Happy to send you pics ... I have missed the request in another thread - what's it for and what do you need? Just let me know which thread it's in and I'll go away and read through for the answers. XX
  9. Possibly the NIA - depends how long before he is back. (Civic is approx 3,000 standing same as Academy, so definitely outgrow that). I'm the same as you on arenas - but there is something about a massive crowd too that gives a different buzz. The Barfly had to the best and one I will always remember - I'll never be that close again .
  10. Next time he plays Birmingham it will be the NEC
  11. That'll cheer my Mum up to know someone older than her went to a Mika gig (she's only 65!) She loved the B'ham gig on Thursday! When I was young I always thought my mum was boring and frumpy, but the older she gets the more she becomes a cool Mum
  12. Why oh why did I not get tickets? When tickets went on sale and I still had B'ham to look forward too, I was sure that would be enough. But it's not ... I need another fix. And now it's too late ... I can't afford ebay prices. :crybaby:
  13. Welcome to the forums Emily ... Birmingham was a great gig and your costume was fab
  14. Finally downloaded my pictures from Thursday night. Put them up on my Picasa page. There's quite a few of the crowd, not many of Mika ... not really in a very good spot to get decent pictures and got too engrossed in watching to be bothered with faffing with the camera. (I was sure you would be in my pics Bexxy ... can pick out your flower!)
