hmm yeh i thought that at first, but i guess the education systems are very different (well i can't really say, i've been to only one of them )

haha i do this too in arabic, i mix french and arabic and english sometimes! but since i live in a north african community in france, we always mix up both languages. and i guess it had to do with the fact that Algeria was French some time ago and they kept some words from French....lol anyways... and i'm feeling really messed up these days because i can't seem to find the right word in french so i say it in english instead. oh, and Sou, you're right, American TV shows definitely screw up the accent...we are taught British English in French schools but I've definitely picked up on the accent from the shows I watch....

probably because he had been in a french school in paris up to the age of 9, so maybe his parents didn't want their children to be lost when arriving into the english system and sent them at the lycée

me loves this thread! both my parents are algerian, with a dash of italian, but i grew up and live in france with both cultures (which i think is super cool by the way!) does this make me a mutt??

hmm well, mika was on hit machine the other day, it's a french tv show, and he perfomed relax and then the guest was one of the jurys for the french idol show, and he was asked what he thought of mika, and he said he absolutely loved him. i thought that was funny because his sort of our french simon cowell lol isn't it ironic...

i can do the mika-4! yeah! AND...he does amazing things with his hands, like bending his fingers, but the other way...well i just don't know how to explain this but he does this in several videos and in the zdf interview. people find me weird when i bend my fingers like this, but people are horrified whenever the see my hands
