  1. Does anyone still remember these guys? A few weeks ago Rocky contacted me and asked me to spread the news here about his and Rufio's band called Monsta. Well, typical of me, I had too much on my plate at the time and I forgot! Anyway, better late than never... They have a blog at: http://www.wearemonsta.com/ Their Twitter page: http://twitter.com/#!/WEAREMONSTA Seems like they have a gig this month. If anyone can go, please say hello for me. Oh, and Peter and Fez don't seem to have a band anymore.
  2. You are welcome! Here, here! Not just your opinion I'm afraid... I had this boring woman on my left who didn't even clap ONCE during Mika's performance! She would stare at me and the others who had fun every now and then. I felt like asking her something like: "What the hell are you doing this close to the stage if you don't like the show?" But I didn't, because that would have been rude, and I doubt she understood English anyway. What a waste of a good ticket! Oh, and I heard that some people took photos of the garbage heaps! There were tons of garbage where people had queued because there were no bins anywhere! Unbelievable. I wish I had taken pictures too, because some people I know would never believe that.
  3. So much stuff has been said about this concert already that I'm trying to keep my report short. That was by far the worst queuing experience for me - ever! I arrived at the venue before 10 AM and I got number 121! In the evening we arranged ourselves in a queue by the numbers. I realised it was not going to work when more and more people took a place as near the gates as possible, completely ignoring our queue that was no longer a queue when the gates finally opened! We had to move forward like a flock that didn't have room to breathe, and yet some people were smoking there which really hurt my eyes. A little French girl with a number in front of me started feeling bad and she had to go away after queuing for hours. It felt like forever until I finally got to the gate, and then the security had a problem with my collapsible umbrella. Of course the only thing they could say in English was "no use", and I figured that they wanted to take my umbrella away. I asked them if I could leave it somewhere safe, but then I figured that they just didn't want me to open it at the venue, so I told them that I'm not gonna do that, and they finally let me go. Of course there were like 500 people at the venue already instead of 120. Luckily I was able to find a decent spot next to Allegra on the right side of the stage (from our point of view) within a three-meter radius from the barrier. The supporting act was some DJ whose versions of other people's songs were quite horrible in my opinion. I sat on the ground with my hands over my ears during the whole 'performance', and I was glad I had space to sit anyway. People smoked a lot in the audience and there was always this disgusting smell present, which I'm sure came from the toilets area... I quickly recalled why I hate festivals. Luckily the wind brought us some fresh air at times, and I almost forgot the smell while Mika was on. I haven't had time to read many pages of discussion about this concert, but I got the picture that not many of you liked Mika's stage decorations. Well, being a great fan of the 18th century art I was thrilled to see the 'paintings' and eventually the costumes. Imma and Ida where the only other performances besides Mika that I recognised under the huge wigs, but I really liked the costumes and the concert as a whole! You may think that it's not a very original theme to choose, but were flowers, bubbles and animal costumes invented by Mika then? I don't think so. I love it that Mika always makes a performance look like HIM - I still think he does music and visuals for himself rather than for anybody else. We just happen to like the same things - or then not, like many of you have pointed out. I only had a chance to listen to the recorded version of Elle Me Dit once before I heard the sound check and saw Mika perform it on stage. I wasn't very impressed with the recorded version because there is so much repeat to it, but it still made an enjoyable performance, and the lyrics are fun even though I don't know enough French to sing it along. I loved the two other new songs, too. I don't remember much about the French song, BUT I loved it that the audience kept absolutely silent while Mika performed the English duet with Ida. I loved, loved, loved it! I was able to hear all the lyrics, and while I'm amused by the subject of the song, it IS a very beautiful song I want to hear it again! I would like to know what Mika spoke in French during the concert if anyone is kind enough to translate? I was glad his French wasn't too good though, and he had to speak in English as well. The killing scene was very macabre as always, and yet I wasn't shocked by it. I actually knew to expect something like that. I sometimes think I share Mika's twisted sense of humour too well. I was hoping for Mika to sing some more new songs. The whole concert seemed too, ah... short? But then maybe I'm just spoiled by now. I missed his piano playing, too. After the concert the security were trying to trick us to go away: "Mika is gone yadda yadda" - like we haven't heard that before. Mr. Mika took his time - like two hours - but he got out in the end. I could see him inside the house from the open door, and so did the paparazzi who tried to get photos of him at any cost. They were really, really rude and would jump on Mika's fans, yuck! I knew I didn't have a chance to meet him, but I was glad that Mika stopped to sign some autographs and that Ingie managed to give him her book that I illustrated. I hope that Mika had a chance to read it a little and it was one of the reasons behind his new Twitter post about how great fans he's got! I arrived in France on Thursday already and saw everything I wanted to see in Paris, so I'm in no hurry to return to that country after this experience. I dislike huge crowds like that. The gig was great, though, and I'm already planning where to see Mika and MFC'ers next although I have no idea when and where the next album tour starts. Thanks Rose for telling me that I needed an ID with my ticket. I'm glad I sensed I might need it and I brought it with me to the venue. But having it out already when getting in probably gave me a few more much needed seconds to find a good place. So thanks!
  4. Shall we post our entries here for everyone to see or shall we keep them a secret until Mika and Yasmine pick their favourite?
  5. I only just read Mika's article and I already know what kind of an illustration I'm doing for his next no-subject-known article! Prepare yourself for an ass-kicking picture, Mika!
  6. The next Mini Mika is in process. What? Has it been a year since my last post in this thread? Ooops, well, the doll will be finished soon! I thought I'd share an interview I gave to an online doll magazine last year. Read it if you want to know more about me, doll customising and Mini Mika. http://issuu.com/sebastyn/docs/bzine-2010-6-engl-print The translation was not done by me. I actually got Mini Mika finished two days before I traveled to London, not two weeks before. I just thought I'd correct. I also introduced my bad-ass criminal doll Christabel in the same issue! Pages 8-10 and 18-19!
  7. I will design a Mika statue for him if he's not happy with the one he's getting. He knows my work by now.
  8. Smackhouse part three is up! http://sookehsmackhouse.yolasite.com/part-three.php And I'm going to start watching the last episode of TB now.
  9. Anna is one of those people who look better brunette.
  10. Ah, I can't see it either! I'm going to make a doll version of the original cover picture - without the blood though. I'm a little behind with my doll story, but the third episode will hopefully be up tonight. Nico_collard, that sounds too good to be true! Have fun at the convention! May I ask how much you paid for your ticket?
  11. Last UK gig? And there I was, planning to see London and him in October or November. Well, anywhere around my birthday would be nice. What about the birthday book? Did he finally get it?
  12. The story has its own website now: http://sookehsmackhouse.yolasite.com/
  13. Here comes The Sookeh Smackhouse Picture Show again, with its second episode 'I See a Lot of Dead People'. I hope you'll enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy making it! The first episode is on my Flickr page: This is heavily influenced by the TV show True Blood, but I'm adding my own elements into it as well. The story starts where the first season of True Blood ended, but the past and certainly the future may be a bit different on my show. So far I've picked things from seasons two and three. Rated 15 for swearing and adult themes.
  14. I watched that episode today. It was most certainly interesting. The show just keeps getting better and better! Which is why I'm highly inspired to do my dolly show... Next episode comes tomorrow. Here's a sneak peak to the club Fangtastic: Erik (Axl Strand) and his 'child', Kat (Verona Travers), are looking extra juicy on the set of The Sookeh Smackhouse Picture Show. I read the first book within just four days! I've never read a book so fast. I'm now reading the second book.
  15. 'Smackhouse' coming twice this week! There wasn't an episode last week, so there will be two this week! Be ready for the action filled episodes 'I See a Lot of Dead People' and 'Where Is My Dead Man?'
Mehän suunniteltiin joskus menevämme jonnekin Way Out West -festivaalillekin, kunnes Mika perui osallistumisensa. Nyt se on kuulemma muuttanut tapojaan niin, ettei sairastu enää koko ajan.
  17. Teddy Nalle (Finnish form of Teddy) Bear Nahce Honey Pie Pie Tweet Bar Imaginarium Tour Eclectic Brit Lurvely Hamsie (from hamster) Pretty Ah, my brain activity is running low tonight.
  18. I wonder what else has taken the wrong, more perverted form in my head. I'll never read Mika's lyrics again!
  19. Was it like that in the lyrics? I think that's the exact wording for how I hear it in my head, too. I studied all the lyrics before my first concert. Sh*tttt.
  20. What? It's not "they'll be doing a baby" after all, is it? I'm serious. I need my hearing checked again. I've sang it along like that at 11 gigs. Whoops!
  21. Olisit varmasti saanut uuden salasanan ottamalla yhteyttä johonkuhun modeista. Millaisen artikkelin kirjoitat? Onko sulta ihan tilattu juttu Mikasta?
  22. Hi! That would certainly make it easier. Here's my email address where you can send it. :)

  23. And turned the computer upside down. This: "Your time is MINE now, not your greedy fans! :sneaky2:"
  24. Teabag is a lovely name! Have you been watching Prison Break? There's a serial killer named Theodore Bagwell in it - T-Bag! My Misu has been a tough girl all her life. She even used to be hostile towards her own kittens when they reached the age of six months. I don't have them anymore - Mocca and Leo died when they were seven years old. Misu has become a little more tender over the years, but no other cat can still make her move away from the food plate. And she hisses to my mum's huge Collie when the dog comes too close. Misu isn't afraid one bit, but she just dislikes other animals. I'm the only cat she fully approves. I'm the only one who she likes to lick!
