  1. I voted yes before I read this thread. I do not want to see personal family photos or photos that were obtained by stalking Mika with a telephoto lens while he is enjoying some private time. But Mika's family is always around him at public events and even in his video. And I enjoyed seeing the pics from his high school musical and his participation at the Royal Opera House. I thought that's what we were talking about here in reference to his family and childhood. If not, then I would change my vote to only with his permission, meaning photos taken at public events where he and his family are aware that people are taking pictures of them that will likely end up on the internet somewhere.
  2. I don't know why but that make me laugh out loud. You guys are hilarious. I have every faith that Mika will choose your video Do you think winners will get any VIP treatment at the venue? I haven't read much about this competition.
  3. Mika was only 14 when he met with Simon so you have to give the guy a break. He doesn't have a crystal ball and it's probably better that Mika worked on his music and waited until he was an adult to start getting the kind of attention he has received. Simon recently gave Mika props for his success so he's not a total fool!
  4. Don't bother sending stuff to his record company. He'll never see it.
  5. Yes because of the exchange rate and Toronto is just generally cheaper than NYC. Hotel rooms, food, permits, etc. When Arnold Schwarzenegger was campaigning for California governor he promised to bring back the business to Hollywood but I haven't noticed any change since he's been in office. The industry seems to be thriving more than ever in Toronto and Vancouver has a lot of business as well since they're much closer to LA and often used as a substitute for the US Pacific Northwest.
  6. Very cute! Looks great on you.
  7. I'm not photogenic either. I prefer Mika's dark sorta Middle-Eastern look that shows up especially in black and white pics. But you're right, he never looks bad.
  8. Looks beautiful. Lebanon is so much more lush than I had imagined.
  9. Yes, that's how I found out it was a Mars commercial. I didn't know what they were filming at the time. Jennie, I can't believe all that snow in Birmingham. I never saw any real snow when I lived in England. There would be a light dusting at dawn and it would melt in a couple of hours. I lived farther south though.
  10. Mika would say I'm that troublemaker who started the rumor that he flirts with Martin onstage
  11. Oh man we need one of those Coldstones in Canada. Thought of another good place to dine in Mikaland. Le Colombier is a cozy little restaurant in Chelsea serving traditional French food. Dinner is by candlelight and they have an outdoor patio strung with fairy lights in warm weather. Great wine, filet steak and frites http://www.londononline.co.uk/restaurant/301/
  12. Caz I love your makeup and socks. Cute! The whole video is a brilliant effort so I hope you win. I won a Barenaked Ladies competition once but I just had to write a silly story so it wasn't so much trouble and no expense.
  13. Norway looks a lot like Canada. I took some pictures from my balcony last year because they were making an advert for Mars chocolate bars on my street. They tried to make it look like a New York City street so they brought in a US post box, a USA Today box and some yellow cabs. A lot of movies that are set in NYC are actually made in Toronto.
  14. Well you'll just have to go home with Mika to London.
  15. There's a place like that in Mika's neighbourhood. They don't have dancers, but the atmosphere and the food is fantastic. I went in a party of 4 and they sat us in a little alcove where the table and seating was built into the wall so it was almost like our own private room. We ate and drank there for a good 4 hours. http://www.pasha-restaurant.co.uk/
  16. Ha, this is great. He likes his online friends more than Victoria Beckham.
  17. I'd love my own village in the Cotswolds. What a great idea. Now I just have to work on selling a billion albums
  18. It was this wild Rocky type moment where he came bouncing onto the stage like a boxer celebrating victory. I had no idea what to expect from a Mika show because I hadn't seen any concert videos or read MFC before then. You could just tell in the first few seconds this guy's gonna be a superstar.
  19. Oh I luuurve him. Does he have that same kind of cocky cockney personality in real life? I heard he's leaving the Street...? (we're 9 months behind in Canada)
  20. I love this pic. It's the moment I first clapped eyes on Mika in the flesh. It's the start of Relax, Take It Easy.
  21. Oh I forgot to post that before. That was the article I stumbled across and then started looking around the school's site for some pics. I'm not the type to chase Mika all over the world, but if he ever does theatre in London I'm getting on the next plane! I'd love to see him hook up with Richard O'Brien and do something Rocky Horror-ish.
  22. That's funny that they describe Mika's style as "understated". Not exactly!
  23. Yeah, I'd say you'd have to be blind to think he's ugly. I could see people not liking his style or thinking he's too skinny or not particularly their type. But by any objective measure he's a good looking guy. Clear skin, big eyes, long eyelashes, dimples, full head of hair. Nobody in their right mind thinks that's ugly.
  24. Hey I met Bruce Dickinson too, as well as Bryan Adams a couple of times (didn't grab his arse though ) Also met Janet Jackson, Patrick Swayze (got a kiss!), Rob Lowe, John Oates (Hall & Oates), Eric McCormack (Will & Grace) and lots of random Canadian musicians and MuchMusic VJs from the '80s. One of them was Steve Anthony, who did the Mika interview from Toronto that someone posted yesterday. Another changed his name to John Roberts and went on to become chief White House correspondent for CBS and is now an anchor on CNN.
  25. Thanks for the link. I've seen the interview but only on YouTube. This is a nice high quality version.
