My friends love these shows and yes I've seen a bit of the Voice but not much. I think I remember seeing something like that. But it's good that they can't judge them after their appearance I guess

I agree that sometimes they do give potential artists more chances but what about all the others who are rejected? I just feel terrible for all those people on all of these shows. As someone who has been struggling to become better at singing and playing instruments I know how quickly you can learn to be better and I'm appreciative that I always had people like my music teachers who always told me that if I kept practising I would get better, so I guess I just feel a lot of empathy for these people who are mocked and told they're not good enough on television for everyone to see. But I guess they shouldn't go on these shows in the first place if all they're looking for is fame hmmm...

I watched a bit of the first episode and the thing that really upsets me about these shows is that these judges (and now Mika which I still can't believe because it's incredibly disturbing) are making singers and potential future song writers lose hope in their musical abilities just by telling them whether they suck or are amazing in one single moment. It's wrong because no musician or singer is excellent at what they do from the beginning. They have to be encouraged to become better and they will if they believe in themselves but these judges are mocking so many potentially gifted and creative people and telling them they're either good enough or never will be and it sickens me. And making music and singing shouldn't be about being famous on a TV show; It should be about expressing yourself and being creative. I'm just really disappointed in Mika after seeing him making those girls cry and mocking them; 'Cause who knows? Maybe they'll never want to try to be better singers after Mika made fun of them like a little childish brat. I love Mika, but gosh he can be so inconsiderate sometimes. I would never want to make money shattering other potential and creative artists' dreams, ever.

But won't he be in Italy and filming the live shows for Xfactor next month? I'm guessing this Jay Leno thing will be the only promo he does for Popular in the States. But I would love for him to just cancel Xfactor (if it was possible) and just get on a plane to the US and promote the hell out of himself

Thanks for recording and sharing this, Dermoment, I was away this weekend and missed it. The questions were sort of boring unfortunately though; I still think he needs to do a live webchat with us! And about blonde guys; I think they look like they're going bald or something if they've got thin hair so; No... Mika should be checking himself out in the mirror; 'Cause that's what a perfect man looks like.

I'll be away on a trip this weekend so I won't be able to record it, but maybe it will be up on their website shortly after? Would be great if someone else could record it, you could use a free app like Screenflow for Mac; It's very easy.

Oh god I hope he doesn't go acoustic with the next album lol I couldn't stand it when he turned Stardust into an acoustic song live (I know, you all loved it though).

I think MJ summed this all up with his brilliant anti tabloid songs, so I'm leaving this discussion with posting some of them. Fact of the matter is that Mika doesn't have it all that hard with the tabloids or paparazzis compared to most other celebs 'cause he's not a mega star. And don't get me started on Perez Hilton, ugh... When I see people going "aaawww" over photos of him and his child after he made fun of Michael's death and children the day he died, I find it disgusting that anyone would think he should even be paid visits to his nasty, venom to the world of a blog. I didn't even watch Mika's performance for his website and I hate that Mika is even bothering to associate with that scum loser, PR or whatever; I would never want anything to do with Perez. Once again, to voice my opinion on the paparazzi; I think it was a good choice to remove the thread because we know that Mika values his privacy and doesn't like or invite the paparazzi to take sneak photos of him. When it comes to some other celebs though; They love the attention and PR the paparazzi gives them and we should not feel sorry for those celebs; For example, Lady Gaga. However, for people like Lady Diana or Michael Jackson, the paparazzi were downright vicious in hunting them down and eventhough Michael liked to play with them with PR stunts, they went too far with how they picked and choosed whichever photos where they thought he looked like some circus freak or something (excuse him for having a skin disease and wanting to have some nosejobs...) and helped mock him in front of the entire world until everybody thought it was okay to call him a misformed freak; That I do not approve of. However, there are celebs who want their privacy and they have the right to complain if paparazzis are bothering them. But trust me, a lot of them secretly love the PR it gives them.

Yes the Origin Of Love was amazing. So many potential and addictive hit songs in my opinion like Underwater, Love You When I'm Drunk, Lola, Overrated, Stardust, etc; He really showed off his song writing skills on that album More people need to hear it!

This is good promo for Mika but yes he could do SO much better and take advantage of Popular and Ariana's success. But instead he'll be on Italian Xfactor. I honestly think he doesn't want any more success anymore, but it's his career and his choices. I just wish more people could discover what an incredible song writer and entertainer he is.

What about daylight saving time? Oh well, they have a countdown calculator on their website so we'll know when it'll air exactly in time.

"Touches You" always reminded me of Prince's "I Wanna Be Your Lover", both lyrically and musically. He must've been inspired on some level of that song.

Yes, I thought about that before I sent my question in about the new album, but what I really wanted to do was to kind of carefully point out that doing reality talent shows instead of working on a new album is sort of a bad idea because it could delay new music But the question won't be picked anyway. By the way, does anyone know if they're only accepting questions from US residents?
