  1. Yup yup...alot of college kids live around that area. I think rent is cheaper. Some people consider anything that isn't downtown to be the south side. I personally don't. Been to scarier places. I'm taken the red line from the loop to get there. whooo! Cannot. Wait.
  2. Thanks for the info. I shall be patient and wait for my tickets. oy. I've been to the South Side plenty of times and it's not as dramatic as people like Kanye West make it seem You've just gotta play the game and be sharp. Eye contact with the scary people actually goes a long way believe it or not. But I assure you, its not that bad. And lets not forget that we can tweet Mika from the line and go "Ooh I'm so scared, maybe you should let us up there to your dressing room."
  3. If someone mentioned this already, forgive me (I have no time to look back ) Has anyone received their tickets yet? Are we supposed to get them in the mail anytime soon??? Oh and my jacket will look like this but the coat of arms will have an "MB" in a monogram style over the right pocket. Crossing my fingers on this design http://moodboard.typepad.com/.a/6a00d83539e9ed69e2010535827a7d970b-800wi
  4. Ugh, I didn't even have time to do a video and I'm not that brave anyway Kudos to you though! I hope you get it!
  5. I am becoming more and more excited with each passing day you guys. I have not seen him since last Feb. And I havn't had a one on one with him in two years. I think I am going to buy the 09 addition of the YB and hope like hell that he comes out after or before to sign it. I want him to have a great gig in the chi. We need to step our game up and sing every lyric along with him. LA & NY always get the most love (in my opinion) and Chicago comes in third, always. I already have my outfit concept. And I'm designing my own jacket:naughty: Crazy has returned.
  6. Hey there! I've always done O'Hare. It's just a better airport, and getting transportation from there to downtown is easier. We will for sure be together in that line man! I can't wait :D

  7. Not as cold as Feb. that's for sure They come assorted...5 colors (pink, orange, green, blue and purple)
  8. Yay, I'm glad you guys are game for the bracelets. Should we do one color per person? or each does technicolor? For a hundred (seems like they sell them in bulk at alot of sites) it's $14 If we each get 5 bracelets (random number) than that's enough for 20 mfc members. http://www.glowuniverse.com/storefrontprofiles/DeluxeSFItemDetail.aspx?sid=1&sfid=47917&c=25102&i=249278417
  9. Whoever's gonna be first, I'm there with you. Seriously, I'm so sick of waiting on my friends and never ending up in front. ugh So let's do 1 at the earliest (?). It's going to be cold. Because it's cold right now and its not even officially Autumn yet. This weather is so random. I'm determined to be right below him while he performs. P.S. I think I'm going to order glow bracelets for myself. I might just wear one color. I like to keep it simple Wouldn't it be cool if all of the mfc members going to the show ended up in the front row and we were a glowing rainbow wave?
  10. These performances have ignited the 16 year old fan girl in me. I felt the same way the first time I watched the Grace Kelly video. I'm in awe, and love where he's going and where he has evolved. Totally perfect...completley individual and utterly amazing. So far, I can't decide on my favorite song. And only Mika & Michael Jackson have ever had that effect on me.
  11. They shouldn't be that expensive. The venue doesn't charge that much if I can recall correctly. The area isn't shiny and pretty like downtown, its just really urban and raw. I think I'll be going alone, atleast for the waiting in line part because I'm just sick of always feeling like I drag people along. People just don't get it.
  12. So this venue isn't actually downtown like HOB. I'm going to have to take the red line to get to it. The area is a tad bit shady, but I'm sure security will look after us
  13. Hi everyone. Obviously I wouldn't miss Mika in my hood for the world. But I won't be around tomorrow to get to the link. Will that matter terribly? The presale isn't tomorrow is it? Just an annoucement of when, where and how. correct?
  14. Yes your avatar would be fine, but it can't be that small. IT will have to be bigger and in high resolution (see the picture guidelines in the thread)

I deleted you from poetry, and now everything should be fine :)

  15. That would be fine, but next time sign up for what you want in the official thread please.

    Thanks!

  16. PASS IT ON: YEARBOOK 2009 THREAD IS A STICKY NOW! See sig. for link!
  17. I still cry whenever I see tributes/interviews/videos of him..It's been a week, and I still can't wrap my mind around it. I wrote a blog last week, and I think some of you may relate to me. Check out the blog, I've got some cool pictures up of him. http://www.fairytaleabyss.blogspot.com/ Long Live The Last King I wasn’t prepared to hear that Michael Jackson, The King of Pop , had died on Thursday afternoon. I was in my Holocaust class (of all classes) when peoples’ phones started buzzing with texts. The next thing you know, “Michael Jackson is dead…” was on repeat every two seconds. “What?!” I thought… How could he be dead? A world without Michael Jackson is like a world without simple everyday encounters like stop signs or door knobs. He comes with the package of life. His is the soundtrack to all of our lives. That’s the deal right? We’re supposed to keep him forever. It isn’t so. We have lost an icon of the universe. His career is the epitome of epic. He is and will always be the height of musical genius. Thriller was the best selling album in all of history. Will that ever happen again? No, the reign of Michael Jackson cannot and will not be replicated. I don’t care who you are or what you do. You will never be able to do THAT. And what was THAT? I have no idea…no one does. His presence, his iconic style, his voice, his melodies and rhythms are simply all his and no one else’s. His influence on fashion alone is one of his most memorable contributions. The military jackets, the gloves, the colors, the sparkle, the leather, the EVERYTHING was out of this world. EDIT: Forgot this bit at the end... Say what you want about his infamy. I’m not interested in that. He was misunderstood. End of story. Let’s move past all the things he allegedly did and remember the complete brilliance he created on stage. He wrote most if not all of his songs, and there was always light shed on something difficult to understand about the world in his lyrics. His melodies were like the neon colors in the crayon box. When you hear a song like Beat It or You Rock My World, you can't help but get up and move, snap your fingers, tap your foot. He is timeless. And his legend will absolutley live on.
  18. so, here's the youtube video I have of him nodding at me during Paris. Seriously, I must have looked so incredibly happy because I felt it...That's my favorite song:blush-anim-cl: It's at 22 seconds and you can see it clearer in the original version but whatever. And some pictures of the video I took:wub2:
  19. The premier was here in Chicago The AMC theater was a mob scene...very appropriate:roftl: I didn't even bother trying to find him again... what more could he do for me?
  20. I love him! He seemed very appreciative and humble at the chicago show...didn't expect him to be the stripping type:roftl: More power to him! What did you guys think of the opening acts??? I adored the plastiscines...was the lead singer bringing audience members up on stage for not clapping? That was hilarous:roftl:
  21. Apparantly he took off most of his clothes (maybe all?) in Toronto last night:teehee: I was wondering if he'd do that on this tour...was kinda hopin he'd be inspired to do that in The Chi:naughty: But Toronto was the lucky city! (or not so lucky, what do you think haha) http://nylonmag.com/nylonblogs/blog/2009/06/18/patrick-wolf-takes-off-his-clothes/
  22. Well the time on the ticket said 7:00 but the first act didn't come on until 8:00 so maybe that was when they open doors. Then, Patrick Wolf finally came out at 11:30 The first act is Jaguar love, they're cool...verrrry loud though Pastiscines I adored. they're adorable and very very French. Living Things were just happy to be up there and did well. All three acts ended up inside of the mosh pit at some point which I thought was cool:roftl: But I wish I had more energy for Patrick. I was simply worn out:aah:
  23. Saw him last night at the bottom lounge here in chicago. It took a loooong time for him to get on stage. That's because it's the nylon magazine summer concert tour and three bands play before him. Literally waited 4 hours to hear him play...WORTH IT:wub2: I put together a little montage,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6oCNFBY-ODc but I have one other video that I want to post (perhaps tomorrow) He nodded at me:teehee:...that's because I knew he was playing the opening chords to 'Paris' which is one of my favorite songs. I must have looked like this:mf_lustslow:
