  1. Yes I am aware of the finical restraints regarding marketing, but I think an application would be cost effective. Especially since it’s direct to Mika target demographic; lovers of music. Yes I doubt it would happen, but it’s a nice idea and you just shot it down. Most news source are linked to Google News, so when you search ‘Mika’ or related search criteria and then select ‘Sort by date’ the latest information from on any news website is linked there. So despite the growing amount of information about Mika out there, you can still find the most recent. I’m not saying it’s not quicker to search here, but it just shows that it isn’t the source, figure of speech or not. The application wouldn’t be about getting the information to fans, as they’d be expected to already know. But to a wider, potential audience of fans, but of course I’m sure fans would enjoy it as well. Oh come on, there’s absolutely no need to be sarcastic or to a degree, patronising. My post was clearly aimed at you, and in no way meant disrespectfully, your ignorance in regard to iPod applications. So Well done You!
  2. Bands have released iPod applications before and they have been proven as a very successful piece of marketing. Not only is it quick and easy to access but it also allows people to interact with the artwork, read some quick info and maybe even listen to some preview tracks. There wouldn't need to be a great amount of information on there. The 'corporate entity' would be Mika and his management who know far more than the this website. Also I would argue against the MFC being the source for Mika information, yes the members do gather information from reliable news sources. But the MFC isn't the source of the information, in a similar way that wikipedia isn't the source-it just collects them and presents them together. You could easily find all the information on this site from simply googling. Sorry if I come across quite negative, but a Mika app would be very viable and I'm sure a great thing for any Mika fan to have...provided they have a iPhone or iPod Touch.
  3. Hey! Thanks for the friend add. =)

  4. Soooooo hope this hasn't been posted. But you can now pre-order We Are Golden the album on iTunes. It confirms the album cover is the one which earlier appeared on Mika's myspace. It has 30 seconds preview of every song on the album, and the fully produced version of the demo 'Lover Boy' It also seems that both 'Blue Eyes' and 'Toy Boy' are the versions on the EP.... Click here for the standard edition or Click here for the Deluxe Edition
  5. It's no problem at all, surprised no one else has been looking after it. Yeah you're thinking of the right song, looking forward to hearing it!
  6. Do you think 'Lover Boy' will be the demo version or a newly recorded one? I hope for the latter. Also regarding Wikipedia: I've taken on the job of moderating all Mika related Wikipedia pages to ensure the information is correct, and at the time you posted post this all information was correct with citations on every bit of questionable information. It'll stop anything like the last time happening again! hehe What do you mean by "Dinasour" I've looked at the version of the page at the time you said this and I don't see it. Also I'm not sure who put Arista there, it was the same for Songs For Sorrow, it's been corrected since.
  7. HMV are now using this artwork as the album's cover but without the white text under it. Although this doesn't confirm it is the album cover, even more so if they do let Mika change the name, which I hope he does!
  8. I'm expecting the cover to be similar to this but with the creatures Mika mentioned on BBC Radio 2 in an interview at the weekend. I think the text will say something about it being a promo/sample version, as in the ones sent out for the press to review etc... I have quite a few from the last album which I brought off ebay, the artwork on each one differs from the final art. So yeah, I think this is the artwork used on the promo sent out to the press.
  9. I doubt it's the album cover and hope it isn't! It could be another or an early version of the single cover as we have already been shown the single's cover last week: http://www.mikasounds.com/news/view/588/Mika_Goes_Golden
  10. It has been confirmed on his website, in a press release and he's said it on multiple radio interviews, however he's said he wants to change it so it's more 'ridiculous' Let's hope they let him!
  11. Although the full songs is already all over the internet, according to this article, the full (I think) song will be on Mika's MySpace from 9am tomorrow for 24 hours.
  12. So glad he wants to change it, knew it wasn't right for him to name it after one of the songs. After all I'm sure all the songs are amazing, so why should 'We Are Golden' hog the limelight? despite how amazingly wonderful it is. Can't wait to hear the new title if they let him change it!
  13. Haha about time! Anyway, as with most people I did find the beginning part of the extract bizarre. However reflecting on it, I think it is intended to sound like the words are being said in the same confident, passionate and precise manner a preacher would say them. This also ties in with the use of the gospel choir adding to the epic sound of the song.
  14. From the very short snippet I totally love it and can’t wait to hear more!
  15. To get the points for LICM, EP and the DVDs you have to put them into your computer when asked to validate that you have them. Hope that helps.
  16. I love this so far I'm 5th with 9500 points. The downloads are great! but a number of them are things we already have like the animations and songs. I'm guessing we'll get our unique code from sandbags tomorrow?
  17. For an artist that doesn't like to follow typical conventions, this seems to be like a pretty big one to follow. It's not very original despite what ever lame reason you use to convince yourself that it's a amazing idea. But that in mind it's only the title, it's the music that really makes it and that's sure to be out of this world. :biggrin2:
  18. Really disappointed. Mika's a creative genius surely he could have come up with something just as, if not better as the amazingly titled 'Life In Cartoon Motion.'
  19. I'm not sure what others have said so far, but I've thought this ever since the new website was launched. I think the album will have a space or science fiction theme to it in terms of the imagery. Just look imagery used on the new website, and the editing/sounds effects used in this video, both are very connotative of space. I'd predict this theme would be carried across the album's imagery and even into his live shows. Very exciting!
  20. It's funny that back in March when I posted the play.com link on this forum you were all like 'No the album wont come out then,' and, 'If we hear anything about the new album it'll be from Mika first.' Of course you will, of course.
  21. Not sure if this has been posted yet but according to Play.com Mika's second album is due for release on Monday 28th September. f x
  22. Sweetheart, I'm not new here, I've been a member for over a year now. I just choose not to post often. It doesn't make me any less of a fan than yourself, although I'm sure that isn't what you're implying. I'd not say pathetic, but it can be a little obsessive some times. Oh and no problem daisylou Fx
  23. Hi daisylou -I like the name You can be reassured that I wasn't angry when I wrote that post...though I wish I was chilled as it's bloody hot! I just hear stuff like this all the time, and just feel it's one of them typical fan things to say. It gets slightly annoying. And although you're joking the lot was a generalisation of us fans. Fx
  24. I would have thought there are more important things in everyday life to be frustrated about to be perfectly honest. I like how you copied my yawn
