  2. tiibet's videos are uploading as well and the cake-on-stage-video is already there. It's fab! http://www.youtube.com/user/tibsu14#p/u/1/Qm8XMwJqLvQ
  3. I keep checking your channel, I didn't watch all of your videos completely because I don't have time right now and I'm waiting for the birthday video . But I can tell you that everything I got to see so far is brilliant as always
  4. I love your report, Mellody! Okay, you want me to add things, I'll do the best I can. My Mika-moment was kind of funny as I'd bought one those stuffed flowers that play the melody of happy birthday when you push the leave. When I gave it to him I pushed it and he was listening to the music and ignoring what I was saying meanwhile When the flower was finished Mellody told him that the flower-thing was my idea and I explained that I had it sitting in a tram and then suddenly thought "Flowers!". My original idea was to give a flower to everybody in the crowd but as we failed in finding a sponsor and don't have a garden with somethousands flowers in it in the region of Cattolica (neither at home ) we got a bit more than 300 flowers in the end. So I added "...well, we tried". Mika was so sweet when he answered that you really could see it and that he likes it when everybody else in the crowd thinks "wtf is going on here?!" So even if it wasn't necessary I felt comforted by him which I found really sweet We then told him that we contacted the Media as well and that there was a radio station talking about the surprise (we asked them to tell their listeners to bring a flower if they come to the gig). When he received Mellody's necklace he said that he would wear it and then wore it saying something like "but the moose goes with my shirt". After one second he realised that the tree trunk was just as brown as the moose and his shirt-stripes so he added "oh, the tree as well". When we talked about Arbon and its right pronunciation he complained that nobody knew how to pronounce it correctly. I'm not sure what he said after that. It was either "there are only two and a half million people living in Switzerland" or (that's what I got and it's a lot funnier) "there are only two and a half people living in Switzerland" But now wikipedia told me that there live 7.8 million people in Switzerland so he might have said something completely different I think that was it. End of the record Maybe I find some more data tomorrow when it's not almost three... As everthing else is said I just want to add that this M&G has been my best Mika-experience I've had so far Thank you to everybody involved in that perfect evening, starting from all the lovely MFCers (I'm so proud to be a part of us - we (now officially) rock!) and ending with Mika and his team who are just the best. I'm so thankful to be a Mika-fan and not a fan of somebody who doesn't care that much about his fans. That's really something special And last but not least we should thank our three heroes. John (again!!!!) who helped us organising all the surprises and let us backstage, David who played Happy Birthday and had obvisously a lot of fun kicking the boss from his throne and Fortuné who saved us from eating styrofoam
  5. First post in this thread for me YKYAMFW your dad's co-workers start to send him e-mails with photos of Mika-posters they've made during their holidays (in Riga, Tallinn and Klapeida apparently ) entitled with "for your daughter" Don't know them but love them
  6. No news? Aww, I guess, they want to keep their secrets about a perfect evening for themselves
  7. Aww, thank you! I've already been confused because of course I googled the Arabic translation for "witch" and it wasn't something like Melachi But "Queen" makes sense. Google told me that the Arabic word for "Queen" is "maleka", so there is a bit of a similarity. Let's blame the rest on some grammar I don't know and Mika's wish to use certain letters
  8. Great find! Could somebody write down / translate what exactly he said? Actually I understood a bit but still would be nice
  9. Usually he does come out to sign something. There is never a guarantee for that, it always depends on how tired he is and so on. That he invites fans to come inside didn't happen that often. I think it was only once (?) before and is very special. If I got it right about yesterday he wanted those with numbers to come inside which didn't really work out. I'm really happy for everybody who was allowed to come in and soooo sorry for those with number who didn't get a wristband
  10. To the right, to the right :naughty:

    Thank you for the link!

My train decided to take a break that lasted for one and a half hour in the middle of Slovakia and I had almost no food :aah: But apart from that I arrived save and sound at home :naughty:

How was your travel? Did you sleep? (The girl sitting next to me told me later that she couldn't believe how much I slept lol)

    Cheers

  11. Sorry for the double-post... About this not so nice review: Does this link http://index.hu/kultur/zene/fesztival/2010/08/14/homoerotikaban_feloldodott_macsosag/ work? Here is what google-translator told me was the English version: In many ways I was afraid because of Mika's action: the rapporteur will be able to properly play the Main Stage, to remove without the boredom of the whole concert? Although some can hit next couple of slips on weak one, Mika impressive was funny and cute concert, which was part of an organizer: the exaggeration. The stage was covered in sunflowers and cemetery crosses, center-stage lunar surface have made over the sun, the scope of two pink skull, as if Tim Burton designed it. This in itself was quite excessive, but since the beginning of this concert rápakolva inflated a giant high-heeled foot in it one can not say anything. Mika genre of an exaggeration, too handsome, too cute, his voice is too high and, moreover, the stage is your favorite playground. And he is bisexual, which also has the ability to make a joke about Billy Brown. Who is the gay issue, which is Relax, Take It Easy During the song were put behind me, have not received a concrete answer, but two numbers during the dissolution of the happy homoerotikában macsóságuk scratched, so they were able to végigbulizni the concert.
  12. You know, I don't think it's that much about the people themselves. A lot of everything you think is influenced by the Media. It really would help if Mika was played in the radio. In Eastern European countries as well as in other parts of the world. I don't know if 30 Seconds to Mars are played a lot in Hungarian radios but I could imagine they are. I don't know any of their songs but I could imagine that they just more "fit" into the kind of music that is sold in Hungary. An if the record companies decide to push them they will get a lot of time on the radio and a lot of chances to be seen in newspapers and in the tv. And if they are seen more often there will be more people who could like them and turn into fans and so on. So it really depends on the whole system behind the music industry. I'm definately no expert in that and maybe I think WAY to easy but that's how I explain those things to myself
  13. Agreed. I think it's a general decision with festivals. As an artist you take the risk to be ignored or to have an audience that isn't interested. But in the end every concert he gives is an advertisement for him as well. And those festivals are more an advertisement than a concert of his is because there are people that wouldn't come to his gigs. Especially in Sziget were (from my impression) just a few people coming for Mika. All the others saw him live and I guess most of them didn't know him in advance. Now they know him and that's what advertisement is suppossed to do with the "product". If some of them hear the name "Mika" again and think "yep, I've seen him at Sziget" or even "yep, I liked his performance at Sziget" it's a sucess and as his performance was really good, I'm sure some will think that. That the day wasn't the greatest joy for one or two MFCers doesn't make the festival a bad thing. It's not that much about the ones who are already fans but about those *normal* people who didn't know or didn't see him so far. That's why I think it was a good decision to do this festival in the end (for Mika, still not sure about my journey ) Or: this time I hope he doesn't care about MY opinion
  14. Mika-part Then I got excited and more excited with every sunflower / guitar / piano that appeared. After that long day it was soooo good to see familiar props Mika did a great show. It was too short in my opinion, but that's the thing with festivals, I guess. The audience seemed not that interested as already mentioned by others. I don't get why you would stand in front row and not even try to go with the music a bit. I did it with every act as well (erm, apart from Papa Roach - was too focused on surviving then ) and it didn't hurt At one point Mika looked a bit unstatisfied. He tried to make the audience sing the "we are not what you think..."-part but it took at least four times for him to sing it until some in the audience were able to repeat it. Apparently they didn't know the lyrics at all - not even the WAG-chorus What I found really funny was the intro to Billy Brown. He said the usual "this song is about a friend of mine"-part and then pointed on someone in the audience who waved a peace-flag and added "he would have waved a rainbow-flag like yours" Later on Mika waved at that guy again and wanted him to come on stage. But when the guy crossed the barrier the security caught him and told him to leave. Even though Mika showed again and again that he wanted that guy (or his flag, I'm still not sure ) on stage, the security brought him away When I got to chat with that guy after the gig he was really sad because it was so special for him and those stupid security-guys didn't let it happen You could see that Mika wasn't happy about that either. I think it's already been mentioned that there weren't Kick-Ass, Dr John and Big Girls / Lollipopgirls. I still wonder why there weren't fans on stage. It may be due to timing-problems but it was really weird to see the stage that empty for Lollipop One last thing I have to mention: thank you again Suzie for being a perfect host and thanks to my two zombie-friends from the bus-stops I won't forget this morning About pics / vids: Most of my pics are blurry and not worth being posted, I think the ones that are already in the thread are a lot better. I wanted to film Sweet Dreams, but at first I dropped my camera while filming and then a girl fainted and everybody was pushed to the right and later to the left so I stopped filming as it would just be very confusing, I guess
  15. As this was my first ever festival, I just have to write about the circumstances that lead me to the impression I got. If somebody wants to skip that part, feel free. I've always been worried about festivals in general. I'm not that kind of person who likes different styles of music and to share a toilet with some thousand people. But as it was Mika playing, I thought the experience would be worth it. When I now sum it all up, I must say: it wasn't. I loved Mika's gig and I don't regret this journey, but everything apart from Mika wasn't something I'd like to sit in a train for for ages. We arrived at the festival around noon and noticed that the front row was full The 30 Seconds to Mars-fans told us that they wouldn't let us go in the front for Mika. I could understand that but was a bit sad about it, tbh. So it would be my first Mika-gig in second row We chilled a bit in the sun (I personally hoped for a M-soundcheck as many others were soundchecking - but of course that didn't happen). At 3pm some Belarian / Ukrainian band started. At first I was surprised because the audience seemed to be really into it. But then I didn't enjoy it that much because I felt a bit excluded as they spoke and sung in Russian and my Russian is really poor . The second band was Papa Roach - my worst gig experience ever. I hated every single minute of it. It wasn't that much about the band itself, even though I personally don't like peolpe that spit around everywhere and mention the f-word at least twice in every sentence. What I hated was the situation in the audience - the typical rock-concert-atmosphere, I guess... Before that I thought screaming 13-year-old-girls that wanted to touch Mika were bad. Now I know that they aren't. Men in their mid-twenties that want to touch a rockstar for whatever reason are worse. And the worst thing is that they have the power of men in their mid-twenties as well. I'm still amazed that we were able to survive this hour of pushing, fighting and crowd surfing and that we could defend our spots in second row as well As soon as Papa Roach had left, the whole situation got a lot more relaxed. The next act was Gentleman who I knew as he's German and quite well known over here. It was a really good and easy-going-gig which I was able to enjoy.
