  1. Brilliant vids, thank you ! Couldn't see the pics though ... M.-Th.
  2. For an atheist you do use religious vocabulary But it is not surprising. Not wonder music has had such a huge importance in religion, either as a means to celebrate the glory of God or as a taboo in stricter churches or cults because it was deemed blasphemous to approach heaven through playing or singing it. When Jodi Marr heard Mica sing for the first time she felt that he had been -I am not sure about the quote 'touched by the gods'. She may be an atheist too. I am an agnostic but heavenly is a word that comes to my mind when listening to beautiful music. Ah, that silly grin on our face, when our cheekbones go up of their own accord and stay there until the music ends ! Marie-Thérèse
  3. Yes, very wise to arrive the day before a gig, you are much fresher on 'the' night. Obviously bibles are as effective to make MFCers run away as garlic cloves to get rid of vampires . Marie-Thérèse
  4. I know ! Every time you think that he won't be able to be better than what you have just witnessed and then the next time he takes you a little higher . Marie-Thérèse
  5. I don't know how you always manage to get first row seats ! Did you sell your soul or something ? I tried to but Lucifer refused, saying mine was not worth a first row seat at a M gig... cheeky bugger ! Anyway the link is very good news ; I had had a look at the photos that Babs posted for me and zone B was nearest the ring... I was so delighted and relieved that I was on the verge of proposing to you, then remembered how ramrod straight I am, and how fond of my partner but THANK YOU ! To show you my appreciation, should the drunk pap turn up at Sadler's Wells, I'll erase him for you. Deal ? Till then... Marie-Thérèse
  6. It means right against the ring, where I used to watch circus shows when I was little... I am not in the least implying that Mica is grossly overweight . Marie-Thérèse
  7. Why a dude ? Half a dozen irate females can be quite formidable too . Talking about danger, the guy had better hire some bodyguards -better than the security men apparently were at Passionkirche . If he was drunk, aren't security supposed to expel those from venues ? Marie-Thérèse
  8. Well, I am afraid I am going to make the happy owners of A tickets very unhappy indeed : it seems that we will be sitting at first circle level while people with B tickets will be right under the elephants tails . Good for them but, f... ! It would be lovely if some kind of screw up didn't take place for at least one of the acoustic gigs. [Totally off topic, but was the Passionkirche piano a grand or a baby grand ?] Marie-Thérèse
  9. [quote Another guy (pap) was next to me and pushed me into the bench a few times so I told him off and pushed back. When the gig ended he came over to speak to me and told me in no uncertain terms that this would be the last time that I pushed him, that I had had a lucky escape and that next time I wouldn't be so lucky. He looked very dodgy, typical unsavoury character, so when he said this I asked him outright: 'oh, are you threatening me?' to which he replied (while looking me right in the eye putting his face very close to mine and getting generally very close, and gesturising too) : 'yes. Watch out because next time you won't be so lucky.' This sort of thing should never be allowed to happen, and it wouldnt' have happened if security had done their job and stopped these freaks from being there abusing us in the first place. What this man did is a very serious thing, which unfortunately I could not report on the night because, quite frankly, after seeing how these security guys react to issues, I just knew that they would do nothing and all that I would get was the guy angrier on my case and what not. It really left me shaken, very shaken. After the gig, this guy was one of a group of 3-4 paps following Mika whilst he spoke to the fans and constantly snapping him. He was not a proper photographer, he was a pap. And obviously, a very dodgy character. Well, as you well know, I am short, a woman, and blonde into the bargain, so needless to say I have often been the target of male bullying in the streets, the underground, etc. I have found that they hate scenes and scandal with a passion and I generally start telling them very loudly -borderline shouting- what I think of them and their behaviour, addressing people round me and so far I have always succeeded in making them run for shelter. Maybe one day I am going to be punched on the nose, but once again all bullies are basically big cowards and frightened when they 'victim' fights back. The only real danger is when you are confronted to somebody who is clinically mad, then it is wiser to give up but your average bully is easily dealt with. I can't wait for the guy to turn up in SW and you and Babs and I and a couple of other girls to give him all our attention ! Did any of you take a photo of the goon ? You can easily lodge a complaint... Till then, and let's hope he doesn't chicken out and disappoint our expectations... Marie-Thérèse
  10. Presence, I think. The moment he jumps on stage, even before uttering one single note or line, the place and the people belong to him. Very few artists have that. It is more in the nature of magic than talent, I think. And you receive its full blast right in the chest. Marie-Thérèse
  11. Thank you ! He looked paticularly beautiful that night and I have often noticed that he does look beautiful when he is very happy, bless him ! Marie-Thérèse
  12. Do you really think other fans don't ? They all do only some of them won't tell ... Marie-Thérèse
  13. Thank you, thank you, thank you ! He has never -never ! been so in command of his voice when singing OMS, which is a tricky one . He is the of :king:s . I should never have watched these vids, now I can hardly wait until Monday . I think DL was very wise to refrain from watching anything before Sadler's Wells ... Marie-Thérèse
  14. Well, yes, one can imagine that being a 'good RC boy' he got some inspiration from the place ... Marie-Thérèse
  15. Frigging brilliant vid, thank you so much . He was on fire ! And at the same time completely relaxed and in command. One tends to forget, after a few months without seeing him perform, how incredibly, wickedly talented he is ... and unbelievable handsome too, funny monkeyish face or not . Thank you again, I wish we were already on Monday. Marie-Thérèse
  17. We all know that size is not that important, don't we ? But his sets have never been very long... maybe he should get in touch with Bruce Springsteen who is said to have had three hour sets at some point in his career. But then it would us. Marie-Thérèse
  18. Not it wouldn't. And it won't. He may feel safe in a church but we're not going to let him leave the stage that early at SW ! Marie-Thérèse
  19. Yes, not really Micaish though, his trade mark being happy music dark lyrics but it is kind of tender, intimate ... I often watch the video alledgedly filmed in some girl's country house, with her two blond little boys and even though Mica looks ugly/funny with those big earphones on, and his dress sense was at its most , I love that song . Marie-Thérèse
  20. I know ! I've just called an exorcist... they are not exactly cheap ! Any acoustic Rain fan willing to share the cost with me ? Marie-Thérèse
  21. A twelvish set is not that short... unless he rushed through the songs ? Somebody should teach 'the boy' that the quicker is not the better . Will our dear adm oblige ? No, seriously : Rain, Over my shoulder, Martin back, a grand piano on stage... it's Christmas in June ! Marie-Thérèse
