  1. yep Douglas is the capital of the Isle of Man, well remembered :-D
  2. Dy bannee diu (hello) Ta'n ennym orrym Ruby (my name is Ruby) and I am the official MFC world representative for the Isle of Man, that cute little Island in between England and Ireland. I’ve started this thread for anyone whose ever visited/lived/lives on the Island. if you've ever visited... write down what you thought of the place, where you went, what you did etc. and for all of you that still don't have a clue what or where the IOM is, i hope to shed some light for you... it has a population of about 95,000 people, it has one of the oldest and longest continuing parliaments in the entire world (Tynwald), the Island hosts the annual TT motorbike races which are so popular people come from all over the world to watch or race in them, the IOM was the first place in the world that allowed women to vote in government elections and in the IOM you can legally drive and vote at the age of 16. our capital is called Douglas, we have a mountain (snaefell) and an electric tram railway as well as a (brill) steam railway system. we may be small but we have a lot packed into our tiny island and we are just as important as any other country/Island. Viking travellers fell in love with the island and founded many of our towns (as well as Tynwald), the Island is named after the Celtic god Mannanin who supposedly still protects the Island with his cloak of mist :-D this is our Flag called the three legs of Mann (no that's not a typo! two 'n's) here is where the Island is located... now please feel free to post any thoughts, questions or opinions on the IOM, Gura mie ayd (thank you) l2a Ruby xxx :-D (oh and if anyone is wondering what the IOM looks like, i have a few pictures of it in my own photo album on my profile called 'Ruby's Manx stuff', L2a x)

Toshiaght (introduction): the Isle of Man or Ellan Vannin (in Manx) is a little island in the middle of the Irish sea in between England and Ireland. it has a population of about 80,000 people and is a really lovely place to live (or visit!) although there is a manx language called Gaelg (aka Manx Gaelic) it is not official although it is still used in a lot of our Government documents. although we are only a small island we are still just as important as any other and it makes me proud that we even have a world rep on the MFC! come and visit us soon... and even if you're not from the Island, if you've visited or you would like to know more please visit our thread: http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16634 Gura mie ayd (thank you), Slane (goodbye) :-D
  11. i bought the LICM piano book a few weeks ago! i used to have piano lessons when i was younger but i've always struggled to read sheet music. anyways, so far i can play about 4 pages of 'Over my Shoulder', half of 'Happy Ending' and bits of 'Grace Kelly', 'My Interpretation' and 'Lollipop' but it isn't easy! some of the pieces are v confusing and i find it easier to just play the chords instead! anyway, it's still fun learning Mika's songs, it drives my older sis mad though, she hates Mika (i know, she's obviously really stupid) luuuurvin the LICM piano book l2a Rx :-D

  14. thank you all soooo much for your gorjuss welcomes! :-D xxx
  15. You know you’re a Mika fan when… You squeal in excitement when you find the ‘Mika piano manuscript’ book in the bookshop. You spend £14.95 on the ‘Mika piano manuscript’ book. Even though you’re terrible at piano and you can’t really read sheet music! You got sooooooo excited because when you travelled through France, every shop you walked into was either playing a Mika song or one started while you’re in there. And even when you got back to England and IOM it kept on happening! You buy all of his singles on CD (even though you already have the album)… And you buy all of his singles on special limited edition USB sticks just so you have little wrist straps and USB sticks with ‘MIKA’ on them! You drive from the Isle of Man, down through England to Dover, then to France, and then all the way from Calais to Paris just to see his ‘Parc au Princes’ concert. (but it was soooooo worth it!) :-D
  16. This is another (slightly easier) way of finding the hidden treasures on Mika’s DVD ‘Live in cartoon motion’. there are three hidden animated clips on the DVD. Each has a link hidden in a certain menu. When you scroll onto the link it will turn red . For the animated ’love today’ clip, go to the ‘extras’ menu, with all the videos listed. Look at the background picture. Go to the four sheep on the hill (note, there are actually five sheep but once the picture settles one is hidden by the tree!). The sheep closest to the weeping willow tree is the hidden link to the animated clip. Clip on the sheep to see the clip. For the animated ‘purple pop star’ clip, go to the ‘a long way from home’ menu. Look at the background picture and go to the little tree with the snake coiled around it. The little apple to the right of this tree is the hidden link to this clip. Click on the apple to see the clip. For the animated ‘big girl’ clip, go to the first ‘live from Paris’ menu with relax, big girl and my interpretation etc listed. There should be a spinning wheel on the right. Look at the purple, white and yellow lines shooting up. The middle line, the white one is the hidden link to this clip. Click on the line to see the clip. this should deffo work! enjoy. ps who else can't wait until he brings out another DVD???? :-D
  17. holy lollipops are you serious? that is soooooo awesome. i luuuuurved the 'Live in Cartoon Motion' DVD sooo much. it would make sense though to bring out the parc au princes gig on DVD, i mean, it's gotta be his most amazing gig to date right? i drove to Paris especially for it, it was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! gawd, i hope they do bring it out on DVD. brilliant!!! :-D
  18. i was just wondering if it's possible for the MFC to give a 'world representative' position for the Isle of Man. the Isle of Man is a small island in between England and Ireland. it has a population of about 95,000 people and technically it is outside the EU. if you decide to give it an MFC 'world representative' position i would be more than happy to volunteer myself for the position! i was born on the IOM and have lived there (almost) all my life apart from a while in Andorra, ireland and Scotland. please, please, please consider it at least! thanks xxx :-D
  19. hey to all the zany mika fans around the world, its great to know there's so many of us all over the world! and we all share one thing in common... an absolute love and adoration for a certain tall and curly haired mister... MIKA!!!!! yay for the Mika fan club!
