    Quite accidentally yesterday I found one of the best and most informative Mika interviews I've ever read so far. The article was written by Caspar Llewellyn Smith and appeared in The Guardian/The Observer in June 2009. A search in this forum showed that dcdeb had already posted the link in June 2009 in post #1. Anyway, I'll show the link again here for all who have not yet read the article. It is rather long but really worth reading!     Nicht für die Katz', stimmt! Tatsächlich haben mir die Videos in guter Bild- und Tonqualität gefallen, die ich alle noch nicht kannte. Besonders interessant fand ich, wie Mika die Entstehung der Songs mit den übereinandergelegten Soundspuren erklärte. Kein Wunder, daß er 6 Monate dafür brauchte. Auch wie schon gesagt die Entstehung von Videos z.B. We Are Golden. Ich habe zufällig entdeckt, daß der Regisseur schon massenhaft für alle möglichen Musiker produzierte und auch Kinofilme macht.

    Aha. Na ja, ich bin ja noch ein ziemlich neuer Fan und wollte ich erstmal möglichst vielseitig informieren auf allen Seiten, die mir bekannt sind.

    Gibt es denn eine "Feindschaft" oder Differenzen mit dieser "tollen" Seite? Ich bin da total ahnungslos und hatte mich nur gefreut über die vielen bisher unbekannten Filme. Danke jedenfalls für den YT Link, den kannte ich noch nicht. Da gibt es ja auch viel zu sehen. - mikasounds.com muß ich noch erforschen, mal schauen was es da alles gibt... Das dumme ist nur, daß oft auf YT viele Videos nicht in Deutschland anzusehen sind. Ich glaube, es hängt mit horrenden GEMA-Gebühren zusammen?

    Jetzt habe ich doch wieder mal reingeschaut, obwohl ich noch einges am Computer erledigen muß. Na ja, ein bißchen schwätzen kann nicht schaden, selbst wenn man ein Mann ist. Ich weiß nicht, ob ihr UK-sounds kennt. Jedenfalls gibt's dort etwa 18 Videos von Mika in Super-Qualität zu sehen. Laden kann man sie leider nicht, nur anschauen und hören. Ich fand sie sehr interessant, besonders auch das Making-Of "We Are Golden".     @ mellody Ja, ich trau mich her. Manchmal bin ich ganz mutig! @ nami : ) Danke und ja, ab und zu werd ich mich mal blicken lassen. @ Cassilda Danke, es geht so lala. Bitte nicht böse sein, wenn ich nicht so oft bei den Oldlings reinschaue. Habe wirklich viel mit persönlichem Kram zu tun. Außerdem noch Konzertproben und dann habe ich ja noch einige Baß-Schüler/innen. Da geht die Zeit schnell rum. @ alle Außerdem bin ich ja ein Mann und nicht immer so sehr zum Chatten aufgelegt, im persönlichen Gespräch aber schon. Auch verfolge ich nicht immer alle Threads. Kaum möglich, weil es so viel hier zu entdecken gibt. Doch wenn jemand was von mir wissen möchte, antworte ich immer gerne.

    What a great experience to watch Mika & his band in such a cozy living room atmosphere! As a musician myself I did enjoy the performance - though far from being perfect all was so intimate and heartfelt. And I loved the bantering between David and Mika. A big thank you to all who contributed with photos & videos, especially tiibet and Sephira who took the trouble to cut and upload on YT.

    Teil 1 von Sephira's Video habe ich schon gesehen. Wirklich eine schöne, private Atmosphäre in dem Club oder Pub, und dann noch ein Wunschkonzert. :thumb_yello:

    Hey, that's fine. So 4 guys (including us) have voted so far. Meanwhile in total I saw 94 votes, that's more than I expected. It least it shows a tendency that I had already foreseen. Only about 5% guys. It's a shame somehow as Mika's music shouldn't be reserved for ladies only.

    Hello again,

    thanks for voting but still I see only 4 guys, not 5. Did you forget to choose "male" perhaps? The poll was intended for two votes: one for age group plus another for gender. It doesn't matter so much, now I know we are at least 5. :)

    My instruments are double bass and fretless electric bass. I play different styles: classical in a small orchestra and rock/folk/indie etc. with friends and also in a band, but I quit there last year. Then I also have some private students. I only sing for myself but my voice is, well... interesting. :biggrin2:

    Morgen werde ich da mal nachforschen. Ein bißchen französisch kann ich ja noch aus der fernen Schulzeit, aber Englisch liegt mir schon mehr. Die Franzosen und das Land mag ich aber auch sehr gerne.

    Zunächst danke für's Adden. - Nun habe ich den ganzen Film Live@Home gesehen und bin begeistert. So eine tolle entspannte Performance. Zwar ungewöhnlich ohne Publikum aber mal was Neues. Nur vom kleinen Intermezzo in Küche und Wohnzimmer in französischer Sprache konnte ich nicht so viel verstehen. Aber charmant wie immer Mr Penniman. Bis bald.

    sorry if I disturb you. I found you as one of the few male fans. I'm wondering how many men are here on the MFC, so I started a poll (in General Chin Wagging) to find out more about age groups and gender. So far I'm the only man in the poll!

    Thanks. Yes, I'm German but I mainly post in English here so that (nearly) everybody can read and understand it. But if you wish we can sometimes write in German. :) - So far I have not yet seen Mika real live, only once on German TV I saw the complete Baden Baden show from Nov. 2009. I have it as a movie.
