The Mika’s concert at Disneyland Paris Pride was stunning. It was the best way to start this long summer together with him and his band. 😍 The audience was amazing. 🌈❤️ There was so much energy! We sang, danced, had fun and were very excited. He participated in our fan actions, playing with one of our yoyos and picking our colorful flowers. 💐 He wore a pair of wings made of colorful balloons that had a boy in the audience, saying he felt like an angel. 😇 Too much smoke came out of the piano and he disappeared for a few minutes in the fog. 😅 When he screwed up Happy Ending a cappella, he gave a middle finger to a guy who was complaining about the mistake. 🤣 In the afternoon we had attended the rehearsal, he had greeted us saying that we would see each other after and that we would have fun and... È un articolo de La Stampa del 10 maggio scorso. Stasera a Torino la prima semifinale dell’Eurofestival: «Su questo palco la politica è energia, un’onda che sposta» «Attenzione, sotto il glitter c’è l’Europa ed è bene che stia lì nell’Eurovision brillante vista da 200 milioni di persone. Nel mega» come dice Mika che questo show di massa lo presenta insieme con Cattelan e Pausini. Un Festival di rottura che lui ha vissuto da spettatore, affamato di una visibilità che sembrava inconcepibile. Lo ha adorato da aspirante star che intuiva un palco in cui mischiare spettacolo e valori. Lo ha rifiutato quando la Gran Bretagna gli ha chiesto di partecipare e non se l’è sentita, come fosse un vestito non suo. E ora lo guida fuori dal tumulto di una guerra, «con la luce che solo la musica può dare». A Eurovision è vietato parlare di politica, ma qui tutto è politica.«In modo reale, potente. Se qualcuno facesse una dichiarazione esplicita sul palco non funzionerebbe, la moltitudine rifiuterebbe. Invece qui la politica è energia: piccole onde che affiorano di continuo e agitano, trascinano, spostano. Poi ci sono, forse c’erano, gli schieramenti. Paesi che si mettono insieme per non votarne altri, fa parte del gioco, ma i messaggi si nutrono anche di questa corrente e passano». Si canta l’Europa? Esiste davvero una cultura condivisa?«È una delle poche situazioni in cui si può festeggiare l’unione. Ci si mescola, concretamente: nel cantare, nel ballare e si va oltre i limiti contro cui sbatte l’Unione Europea. Dopo Brexit, il Regno Unito ha ancora più voglia di essere in questo Festival. Qui l’Europa prende una forma fisica e in una dimensione popolare: è una luce, è facile da avvertire e da seguire». Che effetto le ha fatto sentire i Kalush, il gruppo ucraino?«Mi è venuta la pelle d’oca. Il testo non parla di quello che sta succedendo, ma lì dentro c’è il folklore, la patria, i colori dei campi, i fiori delle nonne, un’identità forte. È un ascolto struggente. Le canzoni sanno raccontare la pace, la mostrano: i Beatles, Joni Mitchell. Prendiamo “Blackbird”, quando McCartney l’ha scritta ha stritolato la discriminazione: “Into the light of a dark black night”. Ancora la luce, la musica porta via e non è mai una fuga, è una salvezza». Le è venuta la pelle d’oca per l’Ucraina anche pensando alla Beirut in cui è nato?«Mi dispiace che il Libano non sia qui, adesso. Sarebbe giusto se ci fosse, se potesse portare anche la sua voce e proprio in questo momento, dopo altri tumulti, altra violenza». Quando l’Inghilterra l’ha chiamata per Eurovision ha detto no, per il Libano gareggerebbe?«Oggi forse sì, per sentimento. Lo stesso che ha portato i Kalush a cantare la loro “Stefania” in un campo profughi. Io non lo so se la pelle d’oca basta per vincere, so che è importante sentirla». Perché a un certo punto Eurovision è diventata globale?«Le emittenti nazionali ne hanno capito il potenziale e hanno cavalcato il format quando però Eurovision aveva già una sua anima. Poi ci sono i social: rendono tutto urgente e questa velocità fulminea a volte si scontra con la superficialità, altre obbliga chi gestisce a muoversi di continuo. Non potrà mai essere uno show datato, quando lo sarà finirà il successo». Perché? Che cosa lo salva?«Non se lo può permettere. Deve essere troppe persone diverse. Il glamour, l’impegnato, l’elegante, il poetico, l’attivista. Deve essere spettacolare e mastodontico senza perdere i racconti personali. Ecco, nessuno può rimuovere le diversità, le particolarità di chi arriva qui, nonostante dietro ci sia una macchina pazzesca e regole molto precise». Come mai lo show ha stretto un legame così stretto con la comunità Lgbtq+?«Io da ragazzo omosessuale non mi ero mai riconosciuto in nulla che fosse mainstream prima di Eurovision. Per questo facevo spostare la tv dalla sala in cucina, in famiglia, per dibattere insieme di chi dovesse vincere e poi mi sono trasferito al pub, con gli amici. La visione collettiva è una dimensione fondamentale». Quale è stato il momento più forte?«Dana, la vincitrice di Israele, nel 1998. Una cantante che era uomo e poi è diventata donna in uno spettacolo per famiglie. Un corto circuito culturale che proprio perché nato in questo contesto non è diventato rottura, piuttosto cambiamento. Il mondo queer ha capito che non doveva chiedere permesso». Tutto ciò dietro il glitter?«Tra le paillettes: dietro, davanti, in mezzo. È l’impasto speciale di Eurovision che rende ogni concetto molto solido, tangibile». I Måneskin sono stati una svolta?«Prenderei un po’di distanza, di prospettiva e li metterei in una galleria ideale con gli Abba e Céline Dion, sound diversissimi ma tutti hanno fatto scattare una scintilla, un amore. Ogni edizione è più raffinata, prima c’era un ritmo da Eurofestival, anche per questo, a suo tempo, ho detto no. Adesso c’è l’etnicità, le lingue che si mischiano, la creatività, il bisogno di mostrare il talento». A «X Factor» si giudica tutto, qui lei non può lasciarsi sfuggire una singola opinione.«Giusto così, la neutralità è necessaria con una platea tanto enorme. Non significa che i presentatori siano pupazzi, la nostra temperatura si sente, accompagna, ma noi siamo un tramite tra tanti posti diversi. I giudizi stonerebbero». A settembre, a Verona, parte la tournée italiana. Che cosa ha di particolare il pubblico qui?«Il calore, il rapporto intimo e passionale che concede. Avrete un assaggio dei concerti con il singolo “Yoyo” che ha le mie due dimensioni: l’atmosfera del teatro e quella dell’Arena, Voglio emozionare e far ballare Ibiza. Tutto insieme».

Per il momento in Piemonte non ci sono date, ma in autunno sarà in cinque città italiane e con due differenti concerti, uno intimo con il suo pianoforte nei teatri e uno spettacolare all'Arena di Verona e nei palazzetti. E poi in Piemonte c'è appena stato per ben due settimane per l'Eurovision e sono molto orgogliosa di Torino e di Mika e degli altri due conduttori, per l'eccellente risultato, di questa edizione "speciale". Le occasioni per vedere e rivedere Mika sul palco e in diversi contesti non mancano! Tra poco terrà un concerto a Disneyland Paris per il Pride e continuerà il tour estivo in tutta Europa, con tantissime date. Basta organizzarsi...

I stayed 3 days in Paris with Ina, her husband and son, on vacation. I love Paris. Every time I go back there I leave a piece of my heart. Thursday afternoon, we were at the Petit Palais and we saw that they were setting up a stage and there were Mika’s musicians. Wouter, Tim, Max and Clément and I don’t remember what the name of the bald-headed musician who plays the piano with them... Anyway, we said hi and discovered the private masked party. We tried to get at least 2 tickets, but it was private. We listened to the concert in the garden of the building, on the grass and waited for him at the exit. He stayed a few minutes with us and was very kind as always. I said: Mika, we heard the whole concert from the garden and it was amazing! And he said: Yes, it was beautiful and I sang well... And he laughed and of course we did. 😄 He didn’t actually forget the words... 🤣🤣🤣 Then we told him that we will see in June on tour and said goodbye. He was happy. I never thought this would happen, but it happened, and it was really fun and crazy! 😄❤️ I came home last night. Ina and her family, this afternoon/evening. The Eurovision final was incredible! We met Mika outside his hotel and he was so kind as always. I loved Mika’s medley. It was like reliving Bercy and Stade de France. The dancers, the flags, his music, etc... Love Today, Grace Kelly, YoYo, Happy Ending... The audience was all for him! We danced, sang and jumped together. I’m really happy and proud of him. It was also wonderful to see Max and Wouter on the Eurovision stage. I’m glad Ukraine won. It’s an important message of peace. This is a crazy week. One day I work, the next I'm in Turin for Eurovision, then I go home and work and the next day I return to Turin, I go home, I work and so on... It’s a tour de force, but I do it with great pleasure. Mika at Eurovision is incredible! He was born to climb on any kind of stage. He’s amazing. I really enjoyed the second semi-final and I liked every song. I loved the duet with Laura Pausini. During the rehearsals they were exceptional and at the live wonderful. They made me get excited both times and have a lot of fun during rehearsals, especially Mika, when during breaks, he danced without music. I love him! It 's very interesting to be able to make the comparison between the rehearsals of the first semi-final of Eurovision and the live. Mika, Alessandro Cattelan and Laura Pausini were incredible even during rehearsals. They were very professional, complicit and united and had a perfect understanding. Mika passes with a disarming simplicity from one Language to another and this ability is normal for us who know him, but for the few who didn't know him in this role, it was a real surprise. He has an incredible charisma, he’s a complete artist and I think he’s ready to do what he wants. Music was the real star of the evening. The Norway group made the whole Palaolimpico dance. The scenery with the four elements: water, earth, fire and air was spectacular and... I can't wait for tomorrow to participate in the second semi-final.
