    What a surprise the snippet was! :wub2: Even if it was a few seconds, the lyrics sound fascinating. The topic reminded me of Hannah Gadsby's stand-up - the one Mika recommended on Twitter some time ago - where she talks about blue, and how it is socially considered "masculine" and "rational" and how she feels it's a feminine color instead, full of contradictions for its nature: it belongs to the cold side, but actually the warmest part of the flame is blue. I don't know, I just loved it. And using a color as the subject of a song would be very interesting, with this slow melody that fits the words very well in my opinion :) can't wait to see which direction the song takes!

    The Voice 20th of November 2018

     

    This time I took the place in the sector behind chairs so I could observe Mika during auditions.

     

    Tuesday recording started in the same way like on Monday – a celebrity sung a song which will be at the end of the TV program. This time it was Soprano and a young singer who participated in the Voice in the past with his brother. Sorry, I don't remember his name 😞

    When Soprano had his sound check Mika arrived with his little nephew and sat with him in his chair. They stayed there together during recording, than they left the studio.

    All coaches came back for the performance of this young singer. Mika approached him to say hello.

     

    This evening there were 24 talents and after 6th or 7th I was lost! It is really a hard work for coatches to remember all these people singing and for more to find the best ones!

    It happenes that no coach turns his chair. The talent leaves the stage and generally coaches do not see them. But Mika stays Mika! Several times he turned his head and watched at the talent leaving the stage. It even happened once or twice that he got up and ran to the person which was not chosen to say him/her some nice words.

     

    Funny moments:

    Coaches have little booklets with the song titles to be sung by talents in the order of their performances. Jenifer was a little lost and asked Mika to find which song will be performed next. She did not pay attention to what Mika did after. Mika torned out each and every page of the booklet,  mixed them up and gave it back to Jenifer. Poor girl couldn't find the right page!

    But she is not stupid 🙂 During a break when booklets were laying in the chairs she switched them and she left her torn booklet in Mika's chair.

    The recording starts , Mika takes his booklet and.... surprise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Revange tastes sweet :lol3:

     

    You already know the new rule –3 new small buttons to block other coaches. But the blocked one learns about it only when he already pressed the big red button, the chair turned but his name is not highlighted on the floor! Instead of his name you can see a french word “bloqué”.

    It happened that Julien blocked Mika. He was veeeeery unhappy realizing he will not have a chance to get his talent. But Julien (the oldest coach in the team) was very nice. He said : “Tu es qué-blo” - in a young generation's way of speaking 🙂

    Soprano started to laugh like crazy 🙂 “Tu es qué-blo” “Tu es qué-blo”!!!!

     

    It happened as well that Soprano blocked Jenifer. But this time a trick did not work. Jenifer did not presse her main red button so actually Soprano waisted his chance.

     

    The choice was very hard. Several times Mika was hesitating and when the song was over he was unhappy and he was regreting it. Maybe that is why he was looking back behind his chair to take a look at the talent?

     

    We've heard many very interestiong voices this evening. I will mention only two:

    A boy singing Tracy Chapman “Revolution” song. Great performance! After he said it was his FIRST ever stage performance. Wow!!!

    And a black girl with a strange voice – of course she catched Mika's attention. Mika said that at the beginning he thought it was a joke. But than he found something very original in her way of singing: something between Amy Winehouse and Miki Mouse. So together it makes Miki Winemouse 🙂

     

    And that's all Mika fans.

    It was a very good time spent with Mika, other coaches and other Mika fans.

    Me: Yes, because I am from Poland and on behalf of all Polish fans I would like to invite you to Poland.

    Annik: She left the invitation at the entrance. You have to go to Cracow. We all are going there too (Mika starts to laugh)

    Me: But not to Warsaw - to Cracow. We have a beautiful arena there.

    Mika: I have never been to Cracow.

    Me: So I invite you!

    Mika: I would like to go to Poland. I was singing there when I was very young. I gave some concerts of classical music. In WARSZAWA (he pronounced it in POLISH!!!!!!!)

    Me: Yes, it's not Varsovie but WARSZAWA. And it's not Cracovie but KRAKÓW.

    Mika: KRAKOW (and he smiles )

     

    So let's hope that he will put Poland on his gig list :groupwave::groupwave::groupwave:

    At the begining I was watching the program just to see Mika. But at certain moment I was so deep in the stories told by these 3 young girls that I had wet eyes....

    Actually two of them are heroes: one has written a book about bullying - and she sued the bullies - she found the force to stop being the victim.

    Another one has created an association helping children and their parents to fight with violence at schools.

    They found their inner force to fight. And here Mika is a great supporter. He does not need to play a star on TV.

     

    I feel endless respect and support for those who went through such terrible times and their strength. Talking about it is necessary, this program was.

    A couple behind me helped me get to him before he left and he let me take a pic with him

    A little sad I couldn't tell him about julian but this gives me a lot of hope that I'll suremy find another occasion to see him again and tell him

    I think there will be an interviewer asking questions about some main topics, more like the interview at "Il Tempo delle Donne" last September! I've looked for videos on YouTube of guests from previous editions and it looks like that, don't know if they also give space to the public for a few questions!

    Dear @ladyolivier, I wish I had the words to describe how this article made me feel, but I'm afraid words will fail me, so to begin I want to give you a genuine, heartfelt thank you. 

    Many parts moved me to the point I felt like crying. Your admiration, love and respect for Mika and his art are central and I love that you managed to merge your emotions and subjective perspective on him with an objective analysis of who Mika is and what he represents to us all. What I loved the most is your description about his authenticity and realism and how that makes feel people better, truly better, 'cause they know someone finally gets them. As others already said, you put into words things I always felt and I've never been able to express. I deeply wish he could read this :hug:
