Was also wondering if anyone would be interested to visit the Louvre on friday night? They have a night opening on Fridays, and according to my sister it’s a lot more quiet at that time.

That sounds great! My hotel is basically just a bit across the river from Louvre so I'd love to join you. :original:

Btw, I've also found that it's free for all people under 26:

Every Friday from 6 p.m. to 9:45 p.m., admission to the museum is free for visitors under the age of 26 regardless of country of residence. (https://freetoursbyfoot.com/louvre-museum-tickets/)

Otherwise it's only for EU residents. I have to take advantage of the two days I'm still under 26 in Paris... :teehee:

Hello everyonne, i just jump in this conversation so sorry if i ask question or repeat something thats already been said (i was too lazy to read all of the 36 pages sorry xD)!

I just want to say that i'm arriving in Paris on friday at 8:36 a.m and i was planning to visit by myself the day (since my friend is arriving at 11 p.m) but if someone want to join me it will be a pleasure! Or maybe something is already planed for the friday?

I was thinking of walking in the streets and maybe visiting the Pantheon but don't really know.

And i saw that Deb proposed drinks and chat after the concerts i think this is an amazing idea :D

Hi, I'm arriving on Friday around noon and my hotel is quite near the Pantheon. However, I was rather thinking of visiting Champs-Élysées etc. on that day because on Saturday there are demonstrations. But it's still walking in the streets so if you want to join me, I'd be happy. :biggrin2: (Hopefully the weather will be nice.

  3. I've just heard Mika on TV, they used Happy Ending for a teaser. But to be honest, this is the first time I'm not really happy about it, because it's a teaser for a horrible soap opera that already has over 4000 episodes (just for the record, I had to google it, I haven't seen any of them!), basically the worst show you can watch on TV...  Well, at least the music in the teaser is good.

I hope it's okay if I jump in your conversation ! It's totally true and it's really good that you've mentionned it. These last weeks there's a lot of manifestations against the sanitary pass and it's hard to visit Paris. Of course it depends of the manifestation but usually, it's around Arc de Triomphe and the whole neighbour. I think it's pretty okay around the Eiffel Tower, but last weekend it took me a while to travel into the city because of the manifestation !

So it's better to visit the area around Arc de Triomphe on Friday and make plans in other parts of the city for Saturday (maybe even some indoor activites like galleries)? :original: I'll have time on Friday afternoon and on Saturday before the concert for sightseeing so I'm grateful for any tips. Also my friend who used to live there for a while recommended the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont, it's quite near the Philharmonie. If the weather is good, maybe it would be a good place for meeting up on Saturday, far away from the protests.

  5. I'm sorry, I was too lazy to connect my camera for the Zoom meeting (I have a PC and I disconnect the webcam while I don't use it because I'm paranoid :lmfao:) and also I have a cold so I was just listening today... But regarding the schedule, I don't know if I would like to travel to the northern part of Paris for a brunch on Saturday as I'm not staying at the Mercure. However, if there would be a gathering before the gig in the late afternoon/evening, I'm ready to come. Btw, if anybody wants to join me on Friday or Saturday for sightseeing (nothing in particular, just a regular city walk if the weather is nice enough of course), I'd be very happy and I don't have a problem with swapping phone numbers. :original:

Even if it's not pleasant the mask is more usefull when you're jumping and singing because you've got more chance to spit on the persons around you (don't want to be disgusting ,but  it's a fact :naughty: )

Don't know how and where Amex recruted their security staff .....from another planet obviously

Of course it is but that wasn't my point, I wasn't reacting to the gig this weekend, just saying that I wouldn't mind wearing the mask during the symphonic gigs so I don't care as much if we can take them off or not.

Hi! I'm trying to purchase a ticket to the Paris concert for either date. Looks like it's sold out :/ Anyone have any extra tickets they are looking to sell? I could Venmo! (fingers and eyes crossed!!!!) Please also email: aramasarian@gmail.com

Also check this page, every now and then there are some tickets for sale:

    https://bourseauxbillets.philharmoniedeparis.fr/list/resaleProducts/?lang=en&dateFrom=23.10.2021&dateTo=24.10.2021

I've seen tickets for both dates just a while ago, it seems they are already sold but it's worth checking out from time to time.

  8. I don't mind wearing the mask tbh, I expect it will be rather cool in the venue and you won't move/sing during this type of gig so I don't really need to take it off. Btw, I recommend the nano ffp2 masks, they are a little bit more expensive than a "classic" ffp2 mask but more breathable (however, the efficacy is the same). I used them this summer while travelling and they are more comfortable to wear for a longer period of time. I find there's also quite a difference between the "classic" ffp2 masks, some of them are really uncomfortable while others don't bother me at all (unless it's really hot but I don't think that will be the case in this venue in October). I know that some of you were planning to order some "fancy" masks from Amazon and of course is tempting to have a mask that matches your outfit but I'd be rather careful, once I bought a set of pink ffp2 masks because I liked the colour but they were really stiff and uncomfortable to wear. I think it's better to have a mask that suits you from the inside rather than from the outside. :original:

  9. The day of the cruise (Sunday), are you gonna change your clothes before the gig? I guess for those staying near the  venue it won't be a problem but for those staying elsewhere, the schedule is quite packed... At least there will be the cloakrooms so you can change your shoes, handbag etc. I think I could wear my trouser outfit on that day with some extra layers (depends on the weather but I guess on the boat it will be rather cool) and leave some things in the cloakroom.

No idea why they think I should try not to look like a tourist when I actually am a tourist. I don't feel the need to disguise and have hurting feet for wearing shoes that look chique instead of being comfortable.

Exactly, they advise you to walk around a lot but don't wear sneakers? I think nowadays you can buy very elegant sneakers so they don't have to look like sports shoes at all, they are often even meant for walking in the city rather than doing sports, decorated (for example with rhinestones) etc. Of course they are still casual but I really don't see the point in wearing heels while sightseeing to look more Parisian... Especially since I don't speak French at all. :teehee:

If Mika's feeling confident enough to do these gigs in France then I really hope he is thinking about touring again. Even if it means waiting until next summer before he truly starts again around Europe it would be worth the wait to know if he's going to come back to the UK. I miss him so much!

Even with the covid restrictions and also issues with visas (Brexit :annoyed:) I can't see him missing the UK off his list, even if it is just London again. I definitely wouldn't miss a concert next time!

Tbh, I don't think Mika is going to start a new tour before releasing his next album... Especially since he officially "gave up" on the Revelation Tour and destroyed the stage set. Maybe he will do some festivals (that's indeed possible as many of them were postponed) but I don't expect a whole tour. However, I could be wrong of course (and I'd be really glad to be wrong this time). :biggrin2:

Central is good for sightseeing, with better areas and facilities for being out late. Plus I'm travelling solo.

I'm in the same situation... I'd love to be close to others but I'm arriving on Friday and want to go sightseeing etc. I don't want to stay in an area where I have to rely on someone else because I would be afraid to walk alone there. Also this part of the city is quite far away from Orly. On the other hand, it would be of course convenient to stay in a hotel near the venue. However, since this is my first time in Paris, I'd prefer to stay near the center and enjoy the city as much as possible rather than to stay in the suburbs and travel all the time to the center. Even though the gigs are the main reason why I'm travelling to Paris, I want to spend  a greater part of the day in the city center. I guess I will take a taxi although it will be expensive.  :sweatdrop:

Out of interest (but mainly bc i'm having a breakdown trying to plan this trip) where abouts is everyone staying? I don't know Paris so I don't know what areas are nicer/safer and where's a bit deathy

I booked a hotel in the 5th arrondissement (near the Saint-Michel metro station).

I think the closer the center, the safer. Also a friend of mine who used to live there said that I should avoid the northern part of the city and especially the 18th arrondissement (overnight).
