dcdeb
OK, this is not meaning to cast aspersions on the gifted among you who are so artistically gifted it makes one cry (I'm looking at YOU, JackViolet!)... but there are some of us who don't know which end of a MagicMarker to hold... let alone the idea of cartooning, or drawing, or actually creating a piece of ART... And yet... we still love MIKA! So... I don't need to create a club or anything... I just wanted to say this. MIKA. There are those of us who love love love you who are NOT artistically blessed. If someone asked me to write a 3000 word essay, it would be no problem. If someone asked me to bake a cake in your honor, I could do something fantastic in a heartbeat. But actual ART? YIKES! So, please know this. Just because the gifts we give to you are store-bought and not hand-made it does not mean they are any less heart-felt... it just means that if we try to draw a beautiful flower it will end up looking like a dessicated weed... so please don't judge us! We love you and want you to know it! And ladies and gents, for upcoming events... please keep in mind that there are those of us who don't know how to scrapbook, or collage, or quilt or do anything artsy whatsoever... and yet we still love MIKA! *sigh* That is all. dcdeb <the artistically challenged admirer>
Christine
I'm with you Deb. I'm pretty useless too. I can barely sign my own name without making a mess of it. I do know how to knit quite well but I have to follow a pattern. I can manage some design using a computer because it allows me never ending trial and error, but using my own two hands never works out as well. JackViolet
But writing and baking cakes are arts of a sort! Exactly! I like to write and draw, and heck, writing's more of a craft than drawing. (Too bad I'm not all that good at it... that's why it's harder!) And I can't bake a cake very well at all! --Jack
Cassiopée
I belong here too;) I did art classes but the prof was kind to make me pass LOL! But I can cook (at least) and I dance not too bad! But I love Mika and try to take part in the not so artistic projects like the audio bday message, etc. I really understand you guys!
canderson
as much as i hate to admit it. i'm not artistic at all either. i have all this creativity, (i think like no one i've ever met before) but what's the use if i can't apply it to anything!? Ju.Thulc-girl
I'm not artistic blessed either !! I enjoy art soooo much, it's like another world to me. But, yeah, I'm terrible... lol. Sometimes is lack of inspiration, sometimes it's just that my hands won't cooperate. Usually.. both of them! Luckily we can enjoy of other people's talent! And no written piece has the immediate impact of a well-done drawing! Certainly not if the drawing was done by YOU! LOL! I'm just feeling inadequate and envious of all the wonderful artists that are out there... shoulda paid more attention in art class... dcdeb
JackViolet
That's ironic, Deb... I was just feeling frustrated at my inability to convey what I wanted (written) in my birthday card for Avoca's project! I don't remember if you're part of it, but if you are, I bet I'd be jealous of what you wrote. --Jack P.S. I say you should totally bake a cake for him next time. Or cookies at least. He would be hungry after all that jumping around a stage anyway...

Right brained or left brained, we all LOVE you MIKA, and some of us can't impress you with artistic things for your coffee table or mantlepiece, but our feelings are just as strong and legitimate!! And if you want to know the thing I do best is something I can never give to MIKA (oh, not THAT, sillies). My work helping mothers and babies every day is my other passion, beside MIKA, and because he can never be a mother, I can't show him any of my skills!! But that is the same as someone who teaches, or someone who works in a bank or a hospital, or someone who sells cars or drives taxis. We all can't get an opportunity to show him what we do, and maybe we are not able to write about it either, but ALL FANS are important, no matter what our own talents are. And thankyou Deb for making me feel valuable despite not being able to make anything arty or crafty for MIKA!!

dcdeb
That's ironic, Deb... I was just feeling frustrated at my inability to convey what I wanted (written) in my birthday card for Avoca's project! I don't remember if you're part of it, but if you are, I bet I'd be jealous of what you wrote. Awww, you're very sweet to say that, Jack, but I must admit, I took the birthday card to be another artistic venture, and so I froze. I didn't write much in it at all, simply because I assumed it was supposed to be artsy. And besides I have written to him in other things, it seems silly to keep saying the same things over and over again... assuming he actually reads everything he gets. (A wild assumption given how busy he is!) P.S. I say you should totally bake a cake for him next time. Or cookies at least. He would be hungry after all that jumping around a stage anyway... I nearly did bring cookies for the DC show, but I was sure that even if I managed to give them to him, that he'd be afraid of eating them -- imagine, home-baked goodies from some crazed fan, who knows WHAT she might have put in them? dcdeb
ThatRadFreak
i cant sew that well =] my sick men drawings look demented i cant cook very well =] even though the quilt was my idea, most of its being done by a sewing machine xD

wasabi_tea
MIKA. There are those of us who love love love you who are NOT artistically blessed. If someone asked me to write a 3000 word essay, it would be no problem. Just the phrase "3000 word essay" makes me feel terrified *LOL* I could draw a bajillion pictures for Mika if I wanted, but write an essay?! GAAAAHHHH NOOOO! I can't do essays T.T and I really wish I could - there's only so much you can do in life with artistic skills, and even then, you have to be the absolute best in order to succeed, but writing skills are needed for so many things. I'm actually rather envious of those who are good at writing essays and stuff!
TheBlackQueen
At last a thread for me!! Thanks dcdeb, for having such a brilliant idea. I'm not artistic at all, but I can write stories, I can cook wonderful dishes... And I can buy great stuff with all my love! So I'm sure I belong here.
