YAY FOR THEATRE!!!

Being the athletically challenged person I am, at school, I live and breathe drama! It's my favorite thing in the world!

Shows I've been in:

Fiddler on the Roof

Rumors

To Kill a Mockingbird

And several other shows...plus, I'm waiting for drama to beginin school for this year!

I did crew for our school production of Cats...costumes...fixing the spandex that never liked to stay in one piece...

I really want to see Wicked and Spamalot...

My lucky sister saw Phantom of the Opera and Hairspray in NYC...(*jealous!*)

So, it's great to be with all of you lovely theatre people...you're my favorites!

All my dramatic love!

Hello everyone, on another thread somehow the subject of theater came up and a bunch of MFCers seemed interested, so I figured I should create a group for us

WELCOME THEATER LOVERS!

Well, I've been involved with theater since I was a kid (although I took a break through middle school). I'm currently a Musical Theater major and Broadway is my goal! haha, It's such a hard career, but it's the only thing I can see myself doing and being happy, so I figured I gotta give it a try!

Ok, come in, introduce yourself, share your experiences in the theater (both as an audience member or a performer), list your favorite plays/musicals, tell us what you've seen, recommend new ones...etc...I'm So Excited!!! lol...:mf_lustslow:

SHALL WE CREATE A LIST OF "Theater Lovers" ?

Edit

WHO WANTS TO BE A THEATER LOVER?

Let me know and you shall!

LnrdToxic -Theater Lover #1

LittleTechieShelina - Theater Lover #2

purplegrape - Theater Lover #3

heineken22 - Theater Lover #4

TTel20 - Theater Lover #5

mercurygirl - Theater Lover #5

Can I be a theatre lover? I love the theatre...even though i spell it RE instead of ER...that's just who I am...please

hey!

i'm going to see bug tonight.

i have no idea what it's about!:biggrin2:

(i believe it's part of the experimental theatre showcase)

but it's only for adults, so-

yay me!:bleh:

i'll have to post later what it's about and stuff.

if you've seen it, i wouldn't mind hearing your opinions of it.:original:

just DON'T TELL ME THE END!

AFTER THE FACT:

ok! i saw it!

i was horribly confused for a while (like when i saw speed of darkness). it's something you have to stick with, but it got good fast.

it's about this woman who has to deal with her ex-husband (who tried to kill her) getting out of jail. the woman's friend brings over this guy. the woman and guy get together. stuff happens after that.

i don't want to spoil the ending (unless people want to know), but it was pretty awesome.

the ending scene involved amazing light work! the spFX make-up was beautiful! there was blood involved for stuff, and omgosh! sooo cool! (you can tell b/c all of the exclamation marks)

yay!

I'm glad you just bumped this! It reminded me the AMAZING news I have to share!

My school (Elon University in North Carolina, if you're wondering) is doing Cabaret for it's fall musical! I'm so excited!

And here's the biggest news...our spring musical is going to be...PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!!! Apparently we were one of about 6 schools hand picked by Andrew Lloyd Webber's people to do Phantom...I think it's the first time it's ever been done at a university! It's the most exciting thing ever!!!

So, I forgot to post when I got back.

The musicals I saw (in real, on stage):

- Romeo et Juliette (French one)

- Le Roi Soleil (French as well about Louis XIV, great!!!)

- Les Miserables (London)

- The Lion King (London)

- The Phantom of the Opera (L)

- Mary Poppins (L)

-Guys and Boys (with Ewan McGregor and Jane Krakowski)

The plays I saw:

-some Moliere's play

- Oleanna (L)

- A life in the theatre

-National Anthems

-Some girls

-In Celebration

I saw musicals on dvd: Notre Dame de Paris, Grease, West Side Story, Ali Baba, Autant en emporte le vent

I also have seen the movie Hairspray and I really enjoyed it. I'd like to see the musical now with Micheal Ball,

Someone mentions LOTR, I would like to see the musical because of Laura Michelle Kelly but the tckets are expensive

I like living in the UK and be able to go to the West End. It allowed me to see

great actors on stage and actors I like. (Kevin Spacey is simply amazing).

Quite long but you can see that I am a Theatre Lover :biggrin2:

I'm going to see a couple plays/musicals/ballets in the near future:

Peter Pan - never seen it on the stage, so this should be fun!

A Johnny Cash musical - not sure what this entails, but I like Johnny Cash, so I am quite interested to finally see what it's like. :)

The Nutcracker - cannot wait! I love seeing TN live.

The Christmas Carol - it's become a tradition to see it every Christmas. :)
