Heya sh!t-disturber-Christine! I heard about an "Apple" card you gave to theKind-and-Fine. Tell us more about it please. Probably best to PM you. Then I can pretend that I had nothing to do with the card if he ever reads the forum. I don't know that I do know you had an apple style rant in person?? You said that I should make a post about it because I am the rational one (or something to that effect) but I said if I made a post about it at that moment I would be banned because it would consist of nothing but swear words. Even now that I'm being rational they are threatening to close the thread. It's not about being satisfied with being there or not: if just being there was all that was promised it would be fine. It was the fact that people were promised a meet-and-greet where everyone would get a chance to socialise and that didn't happen. Naturally when someone is promise something and they don't receive it they will be disappointed no matter how 'lucky' they were to have the alternative. I had no expectations of this afterparty when it was announced. I thought Mika would make a speech or whatever and perhaps there would some sort of queuing up for those who wanted autographs and then we'd all be kicked out while Mika had a real party with his friends and family. But when we got to the bar Mika's friends and family were there and everyone was socializing in a normal manner, drinking champagne and chatting. When Mika said that he was going to work the room and get around to everyone, for the first time in over a year I actually thought I was going to get a chance to speak to him. It's not something I've been willing to do before because I have no interest in getting involved in these stage door alleyway mobs because I think it's pointless and it's undignified for the fans and for Mika. I was gutted that my one and only chance to actually speak to him under normal circumstances was totally and utterly f*cked up by people who insisted on turning it into a stage door alleyway mob. They didn't just ruin it for me, they ruined it for Mika and for everyone who was not there and will not get the chance to go to a proper party with him in the future because this one was such a disaster. And now they closed the thread after yet another patronizing comment from a moderator who wasn't even bloody there. I guess I'll just have to go on MySpace and post a serious rant since I tried to be diplomatic here and no one wants to hear it unless you say "I'll treasure the night Mika was mobbed and harassed for all the rest of my days because I was lucky to have caught a glimpse of his hair." Three gigs, running around London in free time and the after party, I’m exhausted and happy! I really agree on what Christine said though, poor Mika, I don’t understand how he was able to keep his patience with all the crazy people crowding him all the time! But I think it was a nice gesture to invite us to a party even if it didn’t turn out in an especially good way, and I really hope it doesn’t prevent him from doing so again in the future. Pffft, not because of some random rude person! Nothing I said was out of line so none of the mods have yet reproached me, at least. Although... is Kata banned?! I saw that Pink got temporarily banned, but she really was acting kind of odd and being dismissive and disrespectful in that one thread. But Kata wasn't being rude to anyone that I could see, she was just being angry! True true, I am truly lucky Arrrrrrrrrrf those comments about the afterparty just completely **** me up Seriously, it's like saying "do consider yourself lucky that you got the opportunity to go to a fancy restaurant and watch other people stuff themselves with your favourite food" That's a really good comparison, I'm going to have to use it next time. I also think it's so stupid when people keep saying things like "you should just count yourself lucky to be there." That is nonsense! I wasn't at the gig and I wished I could go and meet you... but it's not like everyone who went got a fairy to sprinkle dust on them and deliver them to the gig. You guys bought your tickets, arranged for travel, booked hotels, took time off work, juggled commitments... nothing "lucky" about that. Certainly you may be "lucky" that your lifestyle allowed you to do those things, but then everyone is lucky because there's almost always someone worse off than you. I mean, Scut may not be "lucky" that Mika doesn't do an extensive tour of her country, but I don't think it means all Brits should just be wetting themselves all the time because he happens to be more accessible there. But yeah, Kata, I like your comparison because it's so spot-on. Certainly not everyone gets to go to a fancy restaurant and sit on plushy chairs, and certainly it's not a life-necessity, and certainly you can probably go home and eat some other kind of food, and certainly other people don't even get to eat, let alone go to fancy restaurants, but we would hardly be calling someone in that situation "lucky" in general. --jack Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But it's one thing to be annoyed at people being unreasonably demanding when they just got what they wanted and now want more, and another when people had expended a lot of effort and been promised something specific as a type of reward and never got it. It's not unreasonable to be upset at not receiving what you were lead to expect. If the afterparty never happened, people complaining that they did not get one would be unreasonable.
