Ha, nice job.... kind of reminds me of my old courier job... Used to get people go green with envy when I used to tell them I got paid to go to concerts and stuff... even got to go to the British Grand Prix twice... (Which I love by the way - so It wasn't torture). I do miss it in a way.... but just got fed up with the drunks and the abuse you got from some passengers at the end of the night.... Don't miss the likes of having to sit through Westlife though... Last time I had to see them 3 times during one tour... and I actually was so so bored I fell asleep... How did that happen... Oh Yeah they're crap.... Sounds a great job a lot of the time, did you have to go on the coach trips to concerts with folk? Awful if you got abuse!!! Laurel Posted May 15, 2008 Share Posted May 15, 2008 We cruised the caribbean a couple of years ago with royal caribbean, sounds like we did the same route, it was one of the best holidays i've ever been on I saw a couple of Royal Caribbean docked in the Cayman Islands when we were there... the place was full of Tourists as there was actually four huge cruise liners docked in the bay.... Hello Oldlings Is there fighting in another thread? There is a surprise - we get a few snippets of news, swoon a bit, and then its back to the anti-social type behaviour!! Deb - can you hand out FASBO's? No need for that... I don't do fighting .... I'm far too peaceful Thats my ambition - to go on a cruise!!! It was my Mum's too... she loved every minute of it... Highly recommend it Wendi.... even for me it was an amazing experience.... forgot to say it was my Aunt's 50th Wedding Anniversary and she wanted us all with them .... and knew none of us could ever afford it .... so paid for everything .... was just unbelievable .... and hard to believe it happened apart from the pictures we have... You knew there was a bus coming because you could hear the drivers ghetto-blaster even before you saw the bus. But the down side was all the dead cats on the roads The children were all immaculate in their school uniforms - and they could show this country a thing or two!!! I worked for a newspaper that organised trips for it's readers... concerts, day trips to London etc, theatre shows (Loved all these - and the one thing I miss most of all). I gave out their tickets, maps of the area... if it was a concert - I'd walk them to the venue etc etc etc... Most of the trips the people were lovely ... but you get a concert crowd and it goes out the window by the end of the evening... drink plays a factor whereas the other trips you don't really have a problem with drunks coming back to the coach... the worst with the concerts was the drunks not coming back to the coach... I could only wait a certain time for missing people... you can't hold up an entire coach load of passengers for one missing person.... if they phoned I could normally find them.... nearly always did find them.... concerts in big places like Hyde Park or bloody Robbie's Knebworth gigs this goes out the window... they're not lit up so you can't see anything much and you'll have someone phone you drunk and tell you their by a tree..... I did all 3 of Robbie's Knebworth gigs, and the first show I left two people behind simply cos' I couldn't find them, and hadn't a clue where they were.... god did I get some bloody obscene phone calls from them after... I understood it to a degree... but it's up to them to get themselves back - I had a fight break out on my coach and everything because the other passengers were tired and didn't want to wait any longer.... They didn't understand this of course Worse one was Live 8.... Overran by two hours.... streets had shut down so the coach couldn't get back to pick anyone up ... oh and cos' it had overran so much - my phone died....
