Hmm .. difficult ..

Surely one of the worst years, probably the worst...

Basically because of 1 thing: my dad died of cancer 2 weeks ago .. We had the diagnosis since March .. 7 months ...

My own health isn't that good either at the moment (for a while now), but I don't know yet what it is, have to see a specialist in about 2 weeks .. So by he end of the year I probably can tell if it's the worst year ever or not :aah:

But on the other hand, there was Mika :wub2: And the MFC :wub2:

And there will be more Mika & MFC next year :wub2: (I hope :aah:)

I am sorry for your loss. :huglove:

My best wishes that whatever is causing you pain/sickness is found out as quickly as possible and that treatment is complete and uncomplicated.:flowers2:

I celebrate my New Year on my birthday, which is only a few days from now, so this poll is perfectly timed for me.

I remember that I've had some monumentally rough patches this year, but I can't really remember what they are because it has truly been my best year yet.

I spent a weekend on the Queen Mary with my friends.

I had amazing fun and epic tears and learned my friends love me even when I'm a mess.

I learned to fight with my friends.

I've always been too nice to fight with anybody, so it was important and important step in learning to speak my mind openly.

I filmed myself dancing in my pants and put it on the internet.

I met Mika (who turned out to be somebody I would totally want to be friends with if circumstances allowed such things.)

I wrote a small book.

I've updated my blog more regularly than last year.

I am about to visit my oldest and dearest friend, who I have not seen for just over ten years.

In fact, I'm leaving in 2.5 hours :wub2:

This is the year that I finally feel like I've come into my own as a person. I'm not afraid of life or pain or other people. I'm not surrounded by people who hurt me. I am surrounded by people who love me. I'm not surprised they love me because I think I'm awesome. I have the kind of confidence I always wished I had. I'm comfortable in my own skin.

I made all of that stuff happen. I made hard choices and opened myself up to things I used to fear. I took risks and was met with amazing love each time I did. My friends have loved me when others in the past would have ripped me to shreds. I have loved myself when I had the most reason to beat myself down.

I am truly and deeply happy for the first time in my life.

Did I mention I met Mika? :wub2:

RIVERS! YOU'RE ON BLOGSPOT!!! ME TOO!!! I'm totally following you.

was glad I was getting this surgery done this year, because next year our deductibles are going to 2,500 dollars even for hospital stay.

Unfortunately though my daughters orthopedic is seeing that she does need the surgery to correct her tendons on her knees so that they stop dislocating.

So that will be next year start saving now, if I can find anything to save.

I guess it could all have been much worse .. I have a job, a very nice job, that I like doing (unless there's something Mika's doing around here :aah:) and that pays pretty good.

I haven't fallen of my horse or had any other accidents with it (apart from a little one at the beginning of the year .. but you can't have it all :roftl: and it was nothing like the end of last year, that was hell ..).

And I have no worries regarding a household or anything .. I can just go to work, come home, have dinner and do whatever I want :teehee: (of course I do help every now and then :aah:)

In my top 3 for sure!

It's been the most chaotic, fantastic, weird, exciting, epic year up till now... as far as I can remember :roftl: It's had everything that could possibly be put into a cheap movie trailer. (FRIENDSHIP. BETRAYAL. A WHOOOOLE LOT OF HATERS! JOIN MARK IN AN EPIC STRUGGLE AGAINST EVERYONE TELLING HIM HIS MUSIC TASTE SUCKS BECAUSE HE DOESN'T LISTEN TO HEAVY METAL :roftl:)

There were ups and downs, no real disasters (except the death of my grandpa this January, but I think it's better for him. He really lived in pain). But certainly more of the upsides of life! And I'm glad it's like that! :naughty: Downs are actually part of a life, they don't disturb me all that much.

I'm pretty sure it's nothing terminal .. can be chronic but you can live the rest of your life with it so .. It'll only be if I'll be in a lot of pain for the rest of my life or not :boxed: Something like that ..

:huglove:

I hope it's the non-chronic kind.

Several of my friends have fibromyalgia, which is one of those chronic pain diseases. If it helps at all, they lead very interesting lives and have lots of adventure between flare ups.

You're in my thoughts :huglove:

Well, that's the disease that fits all my symptoms :boxed:

It's that or some kind of rheumatoid arthritis, my mum has it too .. But that's something they can see in your blood and on X-rays etc., so that's why I have to go to the specialist .. But if it's not that it's probably something like fibromyalgia or maybe another disease like that .. don't know everything that's out there :aah:

But thanks :wub2:

I'm sure I'll have some good moments coming .. :wink2:

This year has definitely been the best year yet.

I’m 18 now and I feel like I’m exactly where I need to be and this year has been filled with new experiences and new freedoms that have changed my life in a good way.

I am also free now (legally, mentally, and financially) to do what I WANT to do with my life like travel. I was able to scratch a few things of my bucket list this year too, and some are listed below…

  • skydiving – ALWAYS wanted to do this one, and it was unbelievable. I didn’t tell my mom and I just went with my best friend and we just did it. I would recommend this for anyone. It is such a strange and exhilarating experience. I can officially say that I’ve felt a cloud, which not too many people can say.
  • front row at a Mika concert/met him – This went down as the best day of my life so far and it was so exciting and fun.
  • things I finally did for the 1st time that I should have done a LONG time ago… horseback riding, rode in an airplane, parasailing, saw the ocean and swam in it etc.
  • I also graduated high school this year and started college. I feel like the changes I’ve gone through in just 4 years of high school, especially my senior year, really shaped me into who I am today and I am the most confident I’ve ever been in my entire life.

Tons of other little moments have made this year amazing as well, and I am just so thankful to have this sense of hope and excitement for the future.

Oh dear that's not good. Have you seen a counsellor? It's best to offload rather than keeping it all in.

No I'm afraid to go and see one !:boxed:

I also started reading a book about 'how to become more confident into yourself' but it didn't help so much :aah:

Don't be afraid to see a counsellor, remember I studied it for a year. All counsellor's will do is listen to your problems. Obviously more than that happens when you have a lot of sessions, but that is basically it. Counsellor's won't judge. They won't give advice. They won't tell you what to do. They can refer you to other specialists if they feel that their skills aren't enough to help you, so you won't be lost, let me assure you. Counsellor's can help you. I recommend it.
