A group of African musicians met to record the song #AfricaStopEbola to raise awareness against the Ebola outbreak in West Africa. The collective of artists #AfricaStopEbola supports MSF in its fight against the virus

The song entitled "Africa Ebola Stop" features the singer Tiken Jah Fakoly, Amadou & Mariam, Salif Keita, Oumou Sangare, Kandia Kora, Mory Kante, Sia Tolno, Barbara Kanam and rappers Awadi, Marcus (group Banlieuz 'Arts) and Mokobé, and Sekou Kouyate musicians (electric guitar, bass, electric kora) and Ludovic Do Holle (drums).

It is intended for citizens and inform them of what they can do to help stop the spread of the Ebola virus in Africa. The artists sing in French and in local languages to ensure that the message is heard regardless of literacy and education of the population.

Profits are donated to Doctors Without Borders.

Today, many French artists and athletes unite to strengthen this initiative and through it, to support MSF in the fight against the virus.

Around Tiken Jah Fakoly and Mory Kandia Kora - authors of the song "Stop Ebola Africa" - we find the artists and sportsmen Spot A, Jenifer, Richard Dacoury, Julie Zenatti Joyce Jonathan, Salvatore Adamo, Kendji, Mika, Louis Bertignac, Maitre Gims, IAM, Zazie, Frank Leboeuf, Mat Bastard Skip The Use, André Manoukian, Keen'V, Chimene Badi, Enrico Macias, Corson, Louis Delort, Gaetan Roussel, Vitaa, Yseult and Jeanne Cherhal.

I'm very happy for this initiative because a lot of people are forgetting this terrible virus. I hope that the researchers teams will find soon a vaccine.

This is a great thing that Mika and the other singers are doing. It's also good that the song (from what I've heard of it on the brief videos above) sounds African, rather than European pop. That's much more authentic. I hope the song raises awareness and a lot of money for the cause.

I really hope they find a cure for that terrible disease very soon.

Happy Christmas everyone!
