Blink Gallery

Mika will display a major exhibition of the art created around the release of his No 1 debut album, Life In Cartoon Motion, it's been announced.

The show at Blink Gallery in London, from July 11 - 14, will include original paintings, sketches and drawings that went into the Lebanon-born pop star's artwork as well as other pieces he's created over the years.

"I created a world for my music to exist within and we wanted to allow people to immerse themselves in this via this exhibition," the singer says.

"It is important to create an exciting environment. I want it to feel like you are walking into the 'world of Mika'. Colourful, psychedelic and irreverent, not serious and stuffy like a boring gallery."

The show will be co-curated by Mika and Mika's artist sister Da Wack - who painstakingly hand paints all his designs - and the company Airside, who help turn Mika's art into sleeve designs.

Just to add that Mika has something planned on July 12th, 13th, and 14th, so he will certainly not be there those days... He should only come for the openning on the 11th !

Hi All!!!!!

Looks like it's bad news for anyone hoping to see Mika!

I have just contacted the gallery and spoken to someone who said that Mika will possibly be there for the opening, where there will be a private party (with Island Records etc,) on the 11th. IT IS NOT, REPEAT, NOT open to the public !!!!

He said that the exhibition will be open to the public from the 12th of July.

I must add, that this is still to be confirmed but this is the information we have at the moment.

I'm going on the 11th, it would be nice to talk to him about his art for a change. I'm going to get some prints for Nel, I think she'd like them.

Have to pay the gallery entrance fee, i think... Looks like a fancy gallery... No idea how much it could be !
