  1. hm, and what is "very special" about this gig, like it was announced on mikasounds? anyway, great news for all new yorkers, have fun! i'll be on holiday on rome at that time.
  2. just read the last 20 or so pages of this thread and now i have tears in my eyes from laughing so much. - the skeleton pix! so let's patiently wait for the top of may 25th.
  3. wonder where our tickets would end up then...
  4. kata, if we all have to pick up our tickets in berlin, i'll assist you if the box office guy doesn't want to give you your ticket. i agree that it's best not to have to pick up the tickets, especially if the venue is general admission. though i think if EVERYONE has to pick up the tickets, like in milan, it's fair. the advantage of having to pick up the tickets is that they can't get lost in the mail. apart from that, i'm wondering if the church has a box office at all... maybe we'll get an icecream van instead.
  5. i hope that at least the tickets have a really special design, not just text like usual tickets. otherwise it really would be the easiest to get a printable version. btw, welcome to the MFC, silke!
  6. sariflor, that's what i meant too. it certainly wasn't my intention to jump around during "lady jane".
  7. of course there won't be squashing, but no dancing?! for example for "love today" - or even just "blue eyes" makes my feet move automatically. well, i probably won't be the fist to stand up, but if the vibe's there and people stand up, i'll certainly join them. it's great to have a seat before the show, until mika comes on and sings the first fast song, and maybe again for the slow songs, but honestly, i can't imagine a really great show without dancing and moving at all. well, but the discussion is a bit OT here, maybe we should open a new thread for it - sth like "sitting or dancing at the acoustic shows?"
  8. i wonder why alexanderplatz is so famous, i found it quite unspectacular and rather loud and dirty. i only can imagine that it's famous because of the novel "berlin alexanderplatz". if i could visit just one sight in berlin, i'd choose the brandenburg gate. but as i've been in berlin about 5 times already, for me this time is only for the concert, not for sightseeing.
  9. dann hier auch nochmal hallo und herzlich willkommen! ich schätze, wir sehen uns dann in berlin.
  10. wouldn't be so sure about the thunderstorms, you'll never know on a hot+sunny day... and what am i going to wear? probably a summer dress. i'll decide 3 days in advance, when the weather forecast is more reliable.
  11. so far, the weather forecast for berlin on june 1st says partly cloudy, 18-22°C. but it's very insecure so far in advance. robi, you only want to go sightseeing for alexanderplatz? how about brandenburg gate and kurfürstendamm? there's some stuff on wikipedia, if you need some more ideas for sightseeing: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berlin#Architecture and don't forget the world famous polar bear "Knut" at the berlin zoo.
  12. i wish i could take off more time at work... but i have to save a few days just in case mika is coming on tour again at the end of the year. btw, the spare berlin tickets i offered here are gone.
  13. i have been staying at 2 other hostels of this chain (Meininger, they have hostels all over europe), one of them in berlin, and they were good. this one is supposed to be even better than the other berlin one where i have been staying before. of course, if you stay in a dormitory, you shouldn't mind sleeping in one room with strangers, but backpackers do that all the time, it's a great way to meet new people. Meininger also has single rooms though, if you prefer that and don't mind to pay more. The hostel at Hallesches Ufer is only about 2 km away from the church, it's 2 underground stations, or you can walk.
  14. as long as it's not the top of the week... it is: http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Datei:Passionsk-4.JPG&filetimestamp=20070503193345 they use it as a normal church as well as for concerts and other cultural events.
  16. if anyone else except for me doesn't know what a celeste/celesta is, see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celesta
  17. damn, so many new pages and so little time to read. thanx allegra for all the info, don't have time to read it all now, but i know where i have to search when i'm looking for it. btw, we'll arrive at malpensa airport.
  18. @agnieszka, because i thought i had to be fast to get the tickets () and didn't have time to ask everyone whether they'd come along and/or have tickets on their own etc. and @violet_sky very true, the security ppl in munich were the worst i ever had at a mika show!
  19. no it's not sold out. (btw, i have 2 spare tickets if anyone's interested ) still, a diet for me wouldn't hurt.
  20. well, one things for sure, if i don't get to the front in berlin, i'll start queuing at 8 am in milan. though in berlin it should be ok to be in 2nd or 3rd row, there's no pushing due to the church banks, and everything is so close that 2nd/3rd row still won't be far away from the stage. see this video of a different concert in this church: the main reason why i usually hate 2nd/3rd row is the pushing and that you have no place to put your jacket/bag. and of course tall people in front of you (or people with hats *cough* )
  21. i have the feeling that i'm going to be there too late, if you guys start queuing so early - my plane only arrives at 12:30. the last time in berlin no one started queuing before 6 in the evening, i was the first one there at 5 pm! hoped this time it would be... well, maybe not the same, but at least similar. btw, on this website you can look for public transport connections on the day you want: http://www.vbb-fahrinfo.de/hafas/query.exe/en? the stations for the 2 airports are called: Flughafen Tegel (Berlin) Flughafen Schönefeld Terminal
  22. i have two spare tickets for berlin. including "unique code", of course.
  23. as you mention tube late at night... is it safe in milano? tiibet and me will arrive very late (22:30 at the airport), and in germany i'd surely take the tube, but as it's not that safe in every city, i thought i'd better ask... long dress with a crown? hmm... i'm planning to wear a long summer dress, and i recently bought a nice little tiara, for which i'm still looking for an opportunity to wear it, so maybe that's not such a bad idea.
