  1. My pick would be Big Girls (You Are Beautiful) or Lollipop... These are the two I like less than the others. Don't know why.
  2. Update: I watched it again and the Scissor Sisters show ran 70 mins long and it included 8 songs. That Valeria girl, whoever she is, is utterly unable to speak english (the band members failed to understand what she was saying a couple of times), moreover, most of her comments during the show were out of line, repetitive and annoying. The moral of this story is: all you need to host a tv show in Italy is a pretty face and a lot of courage. On the positive side: there were lots of cameras on (and off) stage, so the show was beautifully filmed and contained a lot of closeups of us fans. (Please mind I'm still talking about the Scissor Sisters show!)
  3. I agree with those who have mentioned Annie Lennox, Nelly Furtado, Kate Bush, Elton John, U2 or Scissor Sisters. I'd also say Madonna (how about a groovy piano version of Lucky Star???), Shirley Manson from Garbage, Geri Halliwell or Joss Stone (they have a really low pitch, so I guess it would work with Mika's falsetto). Among the guys... mhm... some Beatles song with Paul McCartney? R.E.M.?
  4. Amboh! Non seguo molti programmi musicali... e le veejay di "seconda generazione" mi sembrano tutte uguali e faccio fatica a distinguerle!
  5. I'm afraid you're being too optimistic... For the Scissor Sisters there were about 40 mins of interview/reharsals/introductions and less then 20 of music. I don't think the whole gig was even filmed. I remember seeing cameras on stage for Everybody's Talkin' and a couple of others. But I could be wrong here. What I mean is: don't expect they're gonna show the whole gig because you may be disappointed in the end! of course I hope to be wrong...
  6. This is highly unlikely, IMHO. If any of you like, I have recorded mr hudson & the library's performance too. I still haven't converted it yet, but in case anyone's interested, drop a line!
  7. Nope, there are subtitles. And there's this dumb brunette who speaks italian sometimes, but I'm sure you're not going to regret if you don't understand a word of it!
  8. Before we get too excited: they're not going to broadcast the whole concert, but only a very limited selection of songs. The tv show runs about 60 mins and good part is it includes an exclusive interview. Or at least that's how last night's episode (the Scissor Sisters were the guests) worked.
  9. Of course I feel a connection, otherwise I wouldn't be so hung up on him! I really, really love his lyrics. I guess that's it, right? He sings about feelings I share, but couldn't possibly express in such a gracious fashion!
  10. Thanx Avoca!!! Hello gorgeous... I must say Ray-Ban Wayfarer suit him!
  11. Swell!!! Can't wait to watch it again. And again. And again. And again...
  12. You know you're OBSESSED when... ...you're growing fond of braces.
  13. A friend of mine heard Grace Kelly and asked me to check it out... but I was the first of my company to go bananas for that song and, immediately straight-after, for the album. Now I've spread word and a coupla friends of mine enjoy his music too.
  14. I couldn't agree more! I'm afraid that the worst is yet to come, bad-press-wise.
  15. Madonna Darren Hayes/Savage Garden Barbra Streisand George Michael Coldplay Annie Lennox/Eurythmics Bee Gees R.E.M. U2 Queen Zero Assoluto The Beatles The Rolling Stones Jennifer Lopez Christina Aguilera Cher Mina Miguel Bosé ...I'm sure I'm forgetting someone...
  16. About the hair thing... I've never thought that 100% natural (of course!) curls could be... erm... be naturally enhanced in such a natural fashion! I guess I'll have a talk with my hairdresser, since not having natural curly hair yet!!has always been a complex of mine...
  17. Oy! I guess you already answered my question! sadly, no Puccini and no chance to hear him sing in my own language!
  18. Thank you kristin for bringing this to attention! I always wondered if any of these recordings of his opera days existed! I must admit I've never heard of The Pilgrim's Progress... I'll try to check it out and fill this gap, however... Italians do it better! Does anybody know if he ever sung in any italian opera? I would die for anything from Puccini's repertoire!!!
  19. I don't think it's actually possible for a tune like Love Today to get a bad or simply cold review!
  20. I'm not so sure... maybe when he's older or something!
  21. Thanx for posting the link!!! It's a rather peculiar interview! lol
  22. I really love them all, but my vote goes to Hips Don't Lie because I think it takes Mika to have such a funny/odd idea as to sing an acoustic cover of that song!!! and the result is of course more than brilliant.
  23. I'd say Stuck In The Middle because the lyrics really reflects my state of mind at the moment and the melody is just terrific!
