  2. In English: L'essentiel /24 septembre 2015 09:00« The concert at l' Atelier will be very special»LUXEMBOURG – The singer is in l’Atelier, on Friday night , for the most intimate concert of the tour. L'essentiel: You have just started a tour that's similar to a marathon. What state of mind are you in? Mika: Excited and filled with a cheer happy energy because I have some new musicians, a new staging , new arrangements which are really sublime. All this will call for lots of discipline. My schedule hasn't been that busy since a long time. L'essentiel: The public is eager to hear your hits of course, but how do they react to the new album? Mika: It isn't the most album commercial album that I made so it takes time for it to be digested but once it is in the head and heart, it never gets out it! During the concerts, the public sings each lyric , it's truly incredible.. We discover again this album on stage , it becomes more accessible. L'essentiel: L’Atelier will be the smallest place in which you will sing during this tour… Mika: Yes and consequently I can't do the big show but it will be a concert filled with tons of energy, passionate, with lots of interractions with the public I know that many fans bought billets for that particular concert because it wiĺl be really special. But I will come back to Luxembourg with my big show in the coming months, I promise! L'essentiel: It is highly important for you not to copy-paste your show one night after the other. … Mika: But for me, it is just impossible to do the same thing twice , it would be horrible! We even went as far as to change my clothes every night to surprise the public. . Valentino has created a full collection just for me.. And then each country has their favorite songs so I have to adapt myself. L'essentiel: While somewhere you tour are you careful or do you totally enjoy it fully? Mika: When I give three concerts three nights in a row, I can't be excessive , but when I can, I like to eat in good restaurants , I love to! And I spend so many calories during my concerts that I can allow myself to do it (laughs). L'essentiel: You speak numerous languages, will the public at l’Atelier hear some words in Luxembourg language? Mika: That is so hard! I have tried last time and I was made fun of, but I don't care!

  6. Translation into English And today in l'invité we will talk about this huge campaign aiming at making people aware of children cancer , we'll talk about that with our guest Patricia Blanc. Hello Patricia Blanc. Hello. You are the president of the association"imagine for margo" and your fight is showing everywhere , on buildings, in magazines, on TV, on internet. Is that important to keep talking about it ? Yes, absolutely, it' s very important to talk about it , first because this is the month for public awareness about children cancer (on an international level) and also because it is still that illness that makes the more victims among children which isn't known enough, so one of our first objective is to let people know so that they get mobilized. Is that important also that those faces are put into the light, we have seen the singer Mika in particular with those children. Is it important to have famous people associating with you? Yes, a famous person who gets involved is a very important for us because people identify more and follow us more, and they become interested and that's how it goes. It's true we are very lucky that Mika is involved with us, we are very proud of that. So there are two important people who got involved into this campaign, a photographer and as I was saying this Lebanese -French singer. How did you get in touch with those two famous people? Actually the photographer Peter Lindbergh was wishing to help us, to get involved and help the children suffering with cancer and he had this extraordinary and very generous idea to take children to the seaside in Arles in fact, where he takes his own photos , in Camargue where he shoots the biggest stars ? He told himself, I'll do that too for the children. With his passion and his talent. Exactly. With his team he shot the children , in the same way he does with the biggest stars, with his famous black box, that is Peter Lindbergh's very particular technique. He took them to the sea to shoot them, both for them and their families and whatsmore we had this will to make sure the children would have a wonderful time and that it would be a good way to speak about our cause. That's how our campaign was born and at the beginning there were those photos idea then we told ourselves that maybe it would be good to get someone famous involved in the project , someone who would be there for the children during that week end , and also for our cause and Mika said yes right away and he's been doing it with us for two years now, and this year he's also helping us by giving his image for the campaign photos and we are very proud of that. I imagine that for the children , it's a wonderful encounter. Yes, it was a wonderful surprise , whatsmore the first year they didn't expect that to happen at all , so Mika arrived on the beach hiding for his arrival to be a big surprise for the children , and whatsmore he was really very very close to them during the whole week end, he played with them on the beach, with a kite and building sandcastles and many other things. And on the evening in the restaurant they really spent great moments together. So this campaign is called "the little warriors"; there are six little warriors who went to Camargue. "Warrior' is a strong symbol to say they always fight against their illness without ever giving up. That's it , absolutely, they are true warriors and they teach us about life. Now we'll change the subject a bit an explain what your association does to collect funds for research. The fourth run of Enfants sans cancer will take place in September 27th. And it gets more and more successful since it started in 2012. Yes it is the fourth time the run takes place this year and we started with 600 runners , then 1000, then 1600 and this year we have more than 2000 runners involved. There's still a week left to join and it's true it's getting more and more successful and we are happy to see so many people getting involved, but each of this person raises funds for research. Why did you chose sports to promote your cause? Sports is good for health which is already a first message, and it's a good way to get people together because , in fact this event is open to everyone, you can run 5 or 10 kilometers, but you can also walk 5 kilometers. We wanted to create an event that everyone could be part of, related to sports and also to family , we have real runners ...and it's a bit sporty and very friendly and fun for families. Yes very friendly and family orientated and sporty too, with lots of generosity and solidarity because on that day, the researchers come and explain how they use the important funds we raise and give to them each year. And the figure of last year : 665 000 euros were raised and given to research. This is the biggest even in France as far as fundraising goes , in terms of a single cause, children cancer. This is we will raise a little bit more, we're almost there and we are very proud of the people who follow us and thanks to their generosity will allow to create a new program for a treatment which will include all children who had relapses , and for whom classical treatments do not work, regardless of what particular cancer they suffer from. So this event is also a way to tell people who get involved and give money: look, this is what we do with that money , it is going to help children and their families. Absolutely. The researchers come and explain what they do. What I also want to say and that is important concerning this event is that we give research 100 per cent of the founds that people have raised. Your fight is a mother's fight. You lost your daughter Margo who suffered from brain cancer. When you see all those initiatives, I mean people's reaction and famous people reaction, how do you feel? Are you moved? Yes of course, I'm moved . Margo left us a message "go, fight, win" so we keep on fighting that fight and the idea is to win against this illness and the fact to see more and more people around us , famous people getting involved and the generosity of people. To see that we manage to fund research programs and it's moving forward. It is important this research on the field of children cancer. It's too often forgotten that specific research against children is particularly complicated , very little money, very little funds, very little research. There is not much done for specific research about children cancer, it is still a rare desease ; the labs who make meds do not invest much either, so research must absolutely be boosted, so we get new treatments for children. Right now 80 percent of children with cancers are cured successfully which is a very good thing, and those children need to be cured in a better way, so they suffer less from the after-effects, and there are still 500 in France who die because of cancer each year,it's more than one a day. That's why there's a big need to help those children. So put on your sneakers on September 27th, visit the internet site whose address you can see on the bottom on the screen and you'll be able to give money to help the association Imagine for Margo. Thank you very much Patricia Blanc. Thanks a lot to you.
  7. Translation into English, enjoy The new show of the singer Mika was first staged in Caen ! Our chat with Mika. Heaven, the new Mika show, was partially staged during two days in Caen's Zénith. (Calvados). The singer will be back for one concert, on October 16th 2015. Interview: Updated on September 23rd, 2015 by Mathieu Girard Mika 's new show, was partially staged during two days in Caen's Zénith. (Calvados). The singer will be back for one concert in Caen 's zénith on Friday, October 16th 2015. . (Photo : DR) On Friday October 16th, Mika will be on stage with Heaven, his new show, in Caen's zénith (Calvados). Parts of the show were created in that particular place, where the British-Lebanese singer was staging his show during two days on September 16th and 17th, 2015. Our chat with this very busy young man who knows how to stay simple and available, and who has a very special relationship with France. An album, a time périod in life Normandie-actu : You often say that writing music helps you deal with your life? What part of your life does your new album, No Place in Heaven symbolize? Mika : I try to write about things that I can't do nor say in my regular life. When I wwas younger, I used to sing other people's songs, but I was disappointed because it didn't work with my very particular voice. So I wrote my own songs , which helped me and lead to something more important. When you listen to my records, you can follow the changes in my life. In the second, you can feel the fear of having shared too much; in the third, painful moments. In the last one, it's as if we are after the storm that was the third one, as if things started opening up again. Today I'm 32, so I made a very transparent album which is also very festive and organic. Normandie-actu : So the way you create songs is a true outlet for you? Mika: Yes, that's it. It's a way to deal with my life, but that allows me to stay discreet which is essential to me.Music is an elegant way to talk about oneself. It's not as if I was making confessions throughout tabloids's pages! Talking about one's life, one's work is an important thing, and it has to be done without feeling ashamed. « I want to live » Normandie-actu : With your melodies and your clips, you seem like a happy person, but I feel there's a true seriousness in you..... When I'm mad , I say it as honestly as when I'm happy! It's a huge privilegde to do my job because I feel free, and it made me softer, I don't waste my energy, nor my time anymore. For example, three years ago, I was not much on TV , because I used to say no to everything? I decided to change all that, to forget about my ego, and stop protecting myself so much. It was totally sillly to do that. Today, I just want to live. My schedule is four times more filled than before , but I feel four times lighter! Listen to Talk About You by Mika : Normandie-actu : As part of this busy schedule, there's TF1, The Voicein particular, will you still be a jury member in it next year? Mika: It hasn't been confirmed yet. All I can tell you is that I have had a lot of fun doing this show. Television is revealing. You enter people's homes, you become part of their family. Five years ago, I could have never been a judge in The Voice show, I wasn't ready? Doing this show in which we talk a lot , allowed me to show who I am as a person. Whatsmore , in France, this show evolved into something really special. Audiences are excellent , but mainly we are lucky as we have very good candidates. People know that the winer is not the only singer who will be able to start a true artistic project. For example, Kendji Girac, Frero Delavega et Louane, all of them have started a true career. As I travel a lot, I can tell you that it's not the case everywhere. Here, that program is less formated, less fake than elsewhere. From music to fashion Normandie-actu : You also work with the famous shoes maker, Christian Louboutin… Mika: I don't really work with him. I know him well and he often told me he couldn't create shoes for me. He didn't know how to since he thought he had no reason to make any. In a way I am this reason! But I told him: « Christian, I have to wear sneakers on stage, otherwise I can't move. » So he started working after I told him that. Normandie-actu : That almost makes you his masculine muse , sort of! Mika: That's of way to see it. But no, I won't go that far. All I can tell you is that now, I sometimes see other men wearing "my" shoe collection, and that makes me jalous. (laughs) A show that is filled with emotions Normandie-actu : Tell us about your show , Heaven, that you partially created in Caen… Mika: It's a show with lots of staging and a story, with a beginning, a middle and an end. It is based on the history of my roots, of theatre, of opera, within the context of my songs. It's a selection of titles among my four albums in a story which explains who I am, but with different versions, only for one evening. I aimed at created something that makes people marvel, no matter the age of the public, something delicious to watch. It's very important for me. And I chose to do it with handmade things, with simple techniques that create emotion. Normandie-actu : You will be on stage in Caen on Friday October 16th vendredi 16 2015. And afterwards ? We will start the tour in Europe. Well… not only. We will also t ake it to Asia, to the United States, before we take it to South America . It has become a lot more than a european tour ! Information : Friday October 16th 2015, 8 PM, in Zénith, 6 rue Joseph-Philippon, à Caen (Calvados) Phone : 08 91 67 00 17 Price : From 39 to 44 euros
  8. Yes, it was very sad that they didn't live long after that, it made me cry when I read the news and Mika keeps them in his heart and thoughts too because he twitted about them around Christmas in a very moving way as well, they were so lively in spite of their illness and they'll stay in our memories for ever
  9. I've seen it on TV, they said :" cancer and children do not rime anyway, and that it showed that the slogan didn't cost much, which meant all the money that was collected really went to the children and research and not to some fancy slogan making firm, so that was good! "
  10. I'll translate this tomorrow, but the last part is Mika saying he plans to take Heaven tour to Asia, North America and South America http://www.normandie-actu.fr/entretien-le-dernier-show-du-chanteur-mika-a-ete-cree-a-caen_157087/ CaenLe dernier show du chanteur Mika a été créé à Caen ! À quel moment correspond votre nouvel opus, No Place In Heaven ? Écoutez Talk About You de Mika : Dans cet emploi du temps chargé, on retrouve notamment l’émission de TF1, The Voice.

  12. Pascale, such things have been said before and always by people who wanted to get attention to them , basically she's some sort of a troll, and trolls shouldn't be fed...we have been to many gigs , we've watched so many on youtube and periscopes and if Mika did that , I mean if it was organized the way this person says, the sound of each song would be exactly the same , right? Well Mika never sings a song in the same exact way , everyone who's seen him live several times has experienced that, so there's not a shadow of a doubt that Mika sings his songs by himself and if he allows his fans to sing with him, that's because he knows how much we love to , just don't pay attention to that woman, that's an attention seeker, that's all. I have listened to many songs of his new tour shared by other fans and he doesn't sing the same song in the same way once, so no worries
  13. Translation in English: Imagine for Margo was an association we created at the end of the year 2011 in order to help research and ameliorate the well being of children in hospital. In 2009 Margo had started a fundraising while she was being ill. Altough she was only 14 , she had managed to mobilise 100 000 euros and that money lead to an important discovery about her particular illness. So we could see that through her fight, and her funraising that we could both get people involved around us and that if it is done aiming at a precise research project,it doesn't take several years to see the first results. Cancer in children happen for one child among 440 children developping cancer before the age of 15 and among those one out of five will not be saved. Two years ago, magine for Margo took the initative to take children who suffer from cancer and have to stay in hospital on a week end out. The goal was to give happiness to those children and I think those moments were extremely intense and moving and behind those moments of happiness, behind this solidarity which was created , there was also another motivation. A wish to share this, to inform more people about what was happening , what was at stake, and how much we need to move onwards and to be supported. That's why thanks to Peter Lindberg and his team, thanks to Mika, we're starting a beautiful and big campain aiming at helping research against children cancer . There are very few images about children cancer, and when we took conscience of that we told ourselves :But , it would be good to have real images, that would make people understand what children cancer is. And so I wrote an e-mail to Peter Lindbergh , whom I knew for other reasons, because I thought he would be the only one photographer able to do this. He will find himself with children fighting against cancer, we need someone who is sweet and kind, who has really a special contact, and so he created a dream week end for six little warriors , so we had a photographer , we had children, but we lacked an ambassador, and so we were thiking it would be good to have Mika. And one the day when he wore his butterfly jacket in The Voice , we told ourselves it had to be him. Mika: I told myself, it's a beautiful adventure, we all know the idea of illness that is children cancer but if you haven't had a personal experience of it, it's hard to understand what it is exactly, and how children react and how it changes their own lives the lives of all the people in their family. And I met the children and they were amazing! We went to the beach, we played games, we took pics, then we built sand castles, then we went to a restaurant, we heard a flamenco concert, they had had enough of flamenco so they forced me to sing, so I sang. And then there was one of these young boy whose name was Noé who had had enough of hearing me sing, so he decided to sing , so he went on the stage and started singing. It was so funny, so frank, so filled with life, life was everywhere, they didn't censor themselves, those people, those little people, those little adults, they can change everyone's lives around them. It was very moving. I was on The Voice set, shooting the second season, there is a woman who comes to me and says: I need to talk to you; she was Noé's mother, who explained to me that Noé had died, then I also received a letter from Juliet's mother, who was thanking me for that week end, how it was the most beautiful memory of Juliet's childhood, but that she has died too. And so , suddenly it was true, it was not just a week end, it was something true and I associated myself in a much closer way this year with the project. It was an obvious choice, it was a choice I had made with Peter and it's totally thanks to him if I'm here today. The little warriors are here, they teach us so much with their huge courage, and we count on you to help us talk about our cause, about our beautiful campain, and help us develop new treatments for the little warriors. Maurine, ten years old : I have cancer here, here and here. My treatements were chemio, surgeries, I'm a little warrior and I fight. It's necessary! Mika: Today , help us and give to research against children cancer.
