  1. I seriously LOVE your Mika wall! It's so creative. I totally kept random stuff like my glowsticks, pieces of confetti, my ticket, etc. from the concert I went to and it never occured to me that it would look really cool on a wall.
  2. I can relate to this. All of my past music artist obsessions aren't as awesome because I am also obsessed with artists like the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, etc. and most of my favorite artists are either dead or they had their prime in another decade so I don't get to enjoy them the same way. It's awesome to have an artist that is growing during my generation and it's fun to follow him from the beginning of his career instead of admiring him after the end of his career
  3. lol it says you're on right now!!

  4. Alright so here's a sort of random question that I was thinking about the other day actually, and it SORTA fits in for this... In one of my classes in college, we were asked to put our traditional 5 senses (vision, hearing, taste, smell, and touch) in order of least imporant to most important. This took a lot of thinking, and this is what I came up with for myself... least important to me... 5. TASTE - to me, if I HAD to part with one sense, this one always tops my list. The ability to taste to me is a luxury that I could do without. 4. SMELL - as much as I enjoy the wonderful smells in life, this too seems like a luxury that I could do without The next three are the hard ones that people often argue about... 3. SIGHT - Many people would put this at the top of their list for the most important sense. After all, with all of the beautiful things in this world and books to read and movies to watch and people to see, this sense would be hard to part with. 2. TOUCH - I put this sense before sight because to me, the ability to touch and feel is a truly beautiful sense. I think it surpasses sight because it conveys stronger messages than sight. Given the option of seeing something beautiful like the ocean or feeling the sand between my toes and the water rushing against my feet, I would definitely choose feeling it. Also, I think your imagination could make up for what you aren’t seeing, and what you imagine may be more beautiful than what you may have been able to see. 1. HEARING - Above all, hearing is the most imporant sense for me. It was a close call with touch, and sometimes I flip-flop on them. But for me, I think I would feel isolated if I lost my hearing. I can't imagine a completely silent world for the rest of my life. Not to mention, I couldn't enjoy the pleasure of music, which is really important to me. Some people say they would rather lose their vision than their hearing, but I think losing hearing would be so much more frustrating when it comes to trying to even communicate with people. anyways, I pray that I never have to lose any of my senses and I pray that anyone who may be suffering from losing any of the 5 senses may be cured one day. But I definately find it interesting to see how other people respond to this question, so please feel free to do so
  5. When were you happiest? - When I’m on a road trip or something like it. I love driving without a destination too. OR front row at a Mika concert What is your greatest fear? - Swimming in water that isn’t clear enough for me to see my feet (ex. oceans and lakes). Always afraid of sharks and other creatures, and I’m always afraid that I’m going to step on a dead body or something, lol. What is your earliest memory? - burning my nose on a birthday cake candle. Hadn’t quite mastered the technique of blowing out the candle without getting too close to it. What is the trait you most deplore in yourself? - I tend not to finish what I start. What is the trait you most deplore in others? - close-mindedness and unwilling to just let loose and be free What was your most embarrassing moment? - sat on a pencil in school on pajama day in 6th grade and the point pierced through my skin on my butt-cheek and the teacher pulled it out in front of the whole class (they laughed), then sent me to the office where one of the secretaries insisted on putting the band-aid on FOR me and I had to pull my pants down in the office. traumatizing. Property aside, what's the most expensive thing you've bought? - my p.o.s. car, which only cost me $4,000. I don’t blow my money on things, usually I save it for vacations and trips What is your most treasured possession? - I really don’t get sentimental with objects, so idk. What do you most dislike about your appearance? - broad shoulders, lol. They make me laugh, but at least I can swim well. Who would play you in the film of your life? - Maya Rudolph. Down to earth and funny is how I would want my life portrayed. What is your guiltiest pleasure? - three-way tie between chocolate chip cookies, movies, and MFC ;-) What is your most unappealing habit? - nail biting I guess, but I’m sure others would argue otherwise. Where would you like to live? - Anything more exotic and exciting than where I live now, and preferably not in the United States either, I don’t want to live where I grew up. What does love feel like? - I wouldn’t know, I’ve never been in love or even in a relationship. But have a pretty good idea of what it should be.(ex. the movie ‘away we go’) What was the best kiss of your life? - saddest thing in the world. 18 & never been kissed. lol, but it’s complicated. It would take a whole page to describe my lack-of-relationships analysis. Who would you invite to your dream dinner party? - John Lennon, Edgar Cayce, Mika, Barack Obama, Edgar Allan Poe, Johnny Depp & Tim Burton. What is the worst job you've done? - I’ve had the same minimum wage job now for over a year & I worked two in the summer. They’re both just so, ugh, but I need the money so I can travel and go to concerts. If you could edit your past, what would you change? - nothing. How do you relax? - random hikes in random places and listening to music What is the closest you've come to death? - jumping out of a plane, lol. I guess skydiving could have easily become deadly when I was barreling toward earth somewhere around 100 mph before the parachute slowed me down. What single thing would improve the quality of your life? - maybe moving? something to change things up for once What do you consider your greatest achievement? - being completely happy with myself and not feeling any need to impress others or form my opinions around anyone else’s. my education ties into this, which I’m proud of What keeps you awake at night? - sometimes going over something stupid or embarrassing I did over-and-over again, painfully reliving it, lol. But that doesn’t happen often. What song would you like played at your funeral? - something totally inappropriate. I don’t want a funeral, I want a ‘party’ to celebrate my life. It should feel NOTHING like a funeral. What is the most important lesson life has taught you? - Never take it too seriously. If you never take it seriously, you never get hurt. If you never get hurt, you always have fun. Where would you most like to be right now? - backpacking in Europe headed anywhere with no restraints.
  6. wow they are so good! First of all, I love that song to begin with, but they made it sound so powerful, it gave me goosebumps, lol. I'm sure he'd like this
  7. The only one in my family of 6 that actually sorta even likes him is my mom. She thinks he's cute, and she's half-Lebanese herself so that also helped a little. She'll occasionally listen to my Mika rants. As for my two sisters and brother, they won't let me play his music around them, they always tell me to turn it off. I don't understand why at all! They never even give him a chance and it's super frustrating. But my friend and I obsess over him together, so I don't feel completely alone around here, lol. We were actually supposed to go see a movie the other night and we went online to look up which movie to see, but we somehow ended up spending a night of 'Mika stalking' online and listening to his music, lol.
  8. Thank you for letting me know. It's been so long since I read the FAQ and I totally forgot, but I appreciate the reminder.

  9. Hey, you do know that the song is uploaded on youtube right? A lot of his unreleased stuff is there too if you haven't gotten the chance to hear it :-)
  10. Hi! I finally am posting on this site! I don't know WHY I didn't before, I've been following along since 2007.

  11. lol I think the other Troy person is my friend Emily, her screenname is like, FunnyClifford or something. We were the weirdly dressed people at the concert. I'm not sure where you were in line, but we were towards the front, making fools of ourselves dancing to Mika on with my Ipod speakers.
  12. Haha, not quite yet. Still trying to find the right velvet cushion to compliment it perfectly. I've told that story over and over again to my family and friends and they all think it's really cool. Though I wish we could have done a meet and greet backstage, I really wanted a picture with him. Oh well, there's always the next concert.
  13. Lyrically, I know I'm Falling and I See You are very similar, but I actually prefer the lyrics for I'm Falling. I think they sound more vulnerable and sincere. I appreciate Mika's slower songs more now that the second album is out. They've really grown on me.
  14. Gah I'm so sad right now. I had Mika sign my arm at the Chicago show on 10-20-09 and I think it's only going to last for one or two days. It's so sad watching it fade off. I still have pretty bad post mika depression, lol, but it's getting better daily. I seriously need to put a limit on how much youtube stalking I do. It's becoming a serious habit
  15. Aww congratulations on getting to be a big girl at the concert. You looked great! Mika is so good to his fans it's a-m-a-z-i-n-g. Thanks for sharing. BTW, your jacket is really cool looking, and that's awesome that he commented on it.
  16. Aww that's exciting! Welcome to the site. I think everyone here is fairly obsessed with Mika, lol, so you'll definately feel at home. I think his boot is so cute. I had one of those on my foot once when I had a minor break from jumping around dancing. It adds new meaning to 'One Foot Boy' Where do you have tickets to see him?
  17. Okay, so this was my first Mika concert ever and I have to say it met every expectation. I don't know if any of you saw, but during 'big girl (you are beautiful)' song he took my hat off my head and put it on his and started dancing around. It was amazing! After the show, I had him sign my arm because the hat was soaking wet from the rain, and he said, "thank you for making the hat. you didn't want to give it to me." and I laughed and explained how I didn't know he was trying to get it. He then went on to talk about a photoshoot he did with that kind of hat in a magazine (he used a lot of names that I didn't know of, lol). anyways, i was literally dead center in the front row, and I have to say that is obviously the best place to be. He spent most of his time right in the middle of the stage about a foot away from me. I met some great people in line too! Thanks to everyone who made this first show great for me. See you all next time for sure.
