[sorry for the double post] that's more or less the point of the Mercury awards; aside from a couple, the musicians are not too well known. It doesn't go too mainstream, aside from a few exceptions

well, I like nearly all those acts, but I'm really suprised Mika wasn't on that list. Arctic Monkeys won last year, and quite rightfully so, I think they were up against the Guillemots and Muse, as well as Hot Chip and a few other acts as well. I like all those acts, but AM a bit more. I think Amy Winehouse'll probs win, Back to Black was massive, but Arctic Monkeys have a massive chance; they've got tons of fans, and are already really popular. was Mika in any other categories? or was it just those acts throughout the whole thing?

It's strange, because I've never actually been told by anyone, or had it confirmed, but recently, I've sort of realised that I may have OCD. It's really frustrating, because it stops me from doing stuff, and I sometimes feel physically sick if I don't do a certain thing when I feel the need to, or I have to start the whole thing again. I can completley relate to what Hannah said about shaking; sometimes, I feel like I've got butterflies in my stomach, and I can't sleep if I don't do what I needed to do. I do loads of things which really confuse me, but I feel like crying and I get really really REALLY frustrated if I get stopped from doing certain stuff, or if I can't do it. Once, a couple of months ago, I was doing this thing I do every night, where I have to make sure my door shuts so that it hits the doorframe at a certain softness, and I just couldn't do it, and I felt like I was about to burst out in tears. I usually find that when I walk around my house, if I'm going upstairs from the bottom floor, I have to walk to my front door, then back up the stairs, and I really don't know why. I do loads of stuff like that. I'm not even sure if I have OCD or not, but I'm getting more and more convinced the more I hear about it. How did the people who have OCD here find out for sure?

This thread is pure CLASS! hmm. well: today's my 14th b-day so technically I'm supposed to carry an oyster card round, so when my friends all saw me on the bus and shouted out happy b-day, the bus driver called me to the front and I said "heh...oh, it's my 13th b-day." and smiled and walked back to my seat. ...I hope there aren't any bus drivers on MFC!

I absolutley LOVE all the HP books, and movies. It's so soon for the next one, and I'm so sad it's the last! I'd queue up at midnight if I was allowed! Rowling is a genius, I don't know how anyone could come with those amazing plotlines, the GoF one with the ghosts coming through the wands, and the explanation of Fawkes' feather in them was so clever! and the prophecy with Harry and Neville was incredible. I think she's an absolutley amazing writer! OOTP [movieee] is out TOMORROW! =D

I'm in a technology lesson right now, listening to my teacher drone on about drawing a square. I should be listening, I now, but c'mon= Pointless tech lessons which I'm dropping next year, or MFC?

It's my birthday the date of the exhibition (tomorrow) and I really wanted to go for my b-day, but I've got school, and I can't take time off because it's work shadowing thank you for posting, the whole article was fantastic!

OMG1! My form tutor/pervy teacher is an IT teacher as well! what happened?!

EW mine are HORRIBLE! The perviest one is my form tutor ick. he looks at everyone's legs, and when we catch his eye he looks back up at the ceiling and grins, and he called one of the girls in my class "slim and very attractive" to her face. :blink:

my school's actually alright. we have REALLY pervy teachers though. ick.

oh, it justs means that they're not straight. this one's alright (think quite tall, bed-hair, scruffy student type guy) I keep walking into him (heh...once or twice, on purpose )

I go to an all girls school as well. there's the boys school about a 10 minute walk away from our's and they always stand outside the school gates, but apart from that, due to the fact that all our teachers are either female (and there are only a few non-heterosexual girls in my school), or extra old, we're all pretty much deprived of boys, so when the school FINALLY hired a remotley alright looking guy (Student teacher) to teach there, nearly everyone went crazy. I swear, you can't walk past his classroom and not slip on the drool.

my nicknames are all pretty weird. I've got the usual shortening of the name: Priya being the most popular. Someone decided it would be cute to call me Pri-Pri. yeah...DON'T! I hate being called Priya, unless it's my family. me and a few of my friends call me PriyARR/ PriyankAWRR! Then you've got the proper odd ones: Likkle Priya, Melon-cheese, and Archibald. (please don't ask)

main thought: It's only in 3 days, but what have I done since my last b-day? I mean, I know I should be more grateful because I made incredible new friends, I got closer to people, I discovered alot, and not just about myself, but if they're all so great, why do I feel like I've wasted another year? I know I'm only 13, and in a few days, 14, and I know I've got my whole life ahead of me, but I've seen other peoples' lives end alot more quickly than they should have done, and everytime I say to myself "I'm gonna make this day count, I'm gonna pay attention to all the small things, and I'm not going to let today go to waste", I blink and the whole day's gone, and it's another 24hrs where I've done nothing but exactly the same stuff I did the day before.

Amelie and Forrest Gump are two of my fave films! everyone on here is so talented! I write, but not fanfics.

to be completley honest, the only thing that's been going through my mind right now is: "my elbow is itchy. shall I itch it?" It's a harder decision that you think.

I don't think many people understand how proud of myself I am for turning off the tap whilst I brushed my teeth this morning (and two seconds ago- my sister making me lunch=NOT GOOD!). well, it's a big thing for me!
