I could use some help as well, if anyone is interested. I've put a thread about Mika on the forum in 'The Sun' newspaper. The reason is, that no one on TV mentioned Mika today, after his awesome performance last night, and if you check out the Red Carpet interview, posted by 'The Sympathy Band', you'll hear Mika say that he had been in bed for two days, prior to his appearance at the awards. Mika is not lazy! If he was in bed, he was exhausted or ill! So I've posted a thread on The Sun, entitled 'Why Are The Media Ignoring Mika? I've said before that they are, and today they have proved it. I'd be so grateful if fans could go onto the thread in the Sun and say how awesome Mika is. We might get the media to take notice of him, and show his concerts and videos. At the moment, he's working so hard, for very little attention, and for them not to mention his performance last night, is a disgrace. I hope I can count on your support. It's not for me... Oh bless you sweetheart! This is what we need to do. The media think we only want to hear about Amy Winehouse etc. I'm not trying to get at her, she must be very sad and I am sorry for her. But our awesome guy had to drag himself out of bed after two days for that show, and we know Mika isn't lazy. If he was in bed for two days, there was a reason for it! The interview has been posted by 'The Sympathy Band' by the way. Those live gigs, one after another are killing him. This is the problem isn't it! If more people had been aware of him, the way we are, because we see him on YouTube doing concerts and interviews, I think he might have won. If you didn't see the interview on 'the red carpet', I'll tell you that Mika said he'd been in bed for two days and only got up for the event. So he gave a brilliant performance, after having to rest for two days, to gain some energy. Yet no one on British TV have even mentioned him today. There's a thread about Mika in The Sun, on the forum (entertainment section) I know, because I started it! I was watching TV this morning, and the EMA awards were mentioned on The News, and Entertainment Today. They talked about the people who performed, or won awards But was Mika even mentioned? Of course not! What can we expect from a British media who are more interested in a woman who is too drunk to sing, than a magical guy, who gives everything in his performances. The plain fact is, that if the media had given Mika more attention, he would have probably got more votes and might have won the awards, as he so deserved to do. The fact is... Mika had been in bed for two days before the awards, to gain back his strength for his performance last night. The man is killing himself performing live gigs night after night, and our media are not supporting him by mentioning his work. I believe that Happy Endings might have risen higher in the charts if it had been mentioned, and the video played, on shows like Entertainment Today, and I think it is a disgrace that no one even mentiones him, after all his hard work So I've started a thread in The Sun 'Why Are Our Media Ignoring Mika?' Like I said in a previous thread here, it's not about making Mika do more than he's doing. It's actually, about helping him to get more exposure, without him having to slog his guts out to get it. When Mika first came along, he was hailed as the next big thing. Other countries medias show his concerts, and videos, very often. Only Britain is lagging behind. If you want to have your say in 'The Sun', just go onto the website http://www.thesun.co.uk You go onto the entertainment section. You may have to register with them but it's very simple. I've posted this piece of news on all threads about the event. It will only be of interest to his fans. No one else would care about it. I was able to see an interview with Mika on the red carpet. I got very upset, because when the interviewer asked him what he'd been doing in Munich, he replied that he'd actually been in bed for two days and only got up to come to the event. Of course, it didn't register with the interviewer that Mika is exhausted and has probably been ill. He only wanted to know who Mika had been in bed with! Mika, bless his heart, replied "sadly, by myself". He gave a fantastic performance! It is certainly not his fault that all of the attention this morning is on 'The Wino', and her lack of a speech! I don't understand why so many other performers voted for her! Oh... perhaps I can.... It's called 'the sympathy vote. Mika deserved to win those two awards! Still, we must move forward. A lot of fans will not have seen Mika being interviewed on the 'red carpet' I did, and I got upset, because Mika said he'd been in bed for two days and only got up to come to the event. Mika did fantastic, and I also saw him being interviewed on the 'Red Carpet', and I must say, I was worried. Why was I worried, you ask? Because Mika said he'd been in bed for two days and only got up to come to the event! Of course the interviewer asked who he'd been in bed with (cheeky sod) To which, Mika answered, "Sadly, by myself". This told me that Mika has been ill! He's been overdoing things with all these concerts. He really deserved to win the awards, but still, he gave a fantastic performance. Yet the only thing the media are interested in this morning, is 'The Wino', whom many other performers voted for (it's called the sympathy vote folks) and who couldn't even be bothered to give a speech. Okay... I believe that Mika is very open and honest in his interviews. Yes, he keeps part of his life private, but that is his right. I actually think he's way more honest than every other celebrity, and doesn't even like to be called a celebrity. He's like two people in a way. The one we see on stage, the performer, then the one who we see in interviews. The child-like man... The boy next door... Affectionate, vulnerable, compassionate. We love him (in whatever way we say we love him) because he IS all those things. He's got the whole world spinning in cartoon motion, and he is out there, promoting his message of love and tolerance. But I don't think Mika actually realises the impact he's having on people, and that's part of his charm as well. He is a very unique individual. In fact... I'll stick my neck out here and say... there's never been anyone quite like him before, and probably won't ever be again. So we are all going to have strong feelings for him and want him to do well. Great idea to send it to the Spanish thread! Does anyone know if there are any more of these around. We need to find them, so we can vote Mika into the lead on all sites. He's up to 48% on the French one, so I think we should aim to get him to a nice round figure of 50% before the end of the week. On the UK one he's on 36%, and that can rise as well. We don't hear that much about him in Britain either. Not as much as we should! He certainly doesn't get onto any shows in this country, and only one terrestrial channel ever airs his concerts.
