    It's the Roman Catholic Church that causes most of the problems. Not just with the Gay issues, but with things like equality for women. They didn't like the fact that Mary Magdalene had a big part in Jesus's ministry, so they called her a prostitute (which she wasn't) to slur her name. The church is huge in Italy, but thankfully, not so much in the UK now, but the RC church has a lot to answer for. I wish things were different.

    If he had a huge career here, like, for example, Justin Bieber, I'd agree wholeheartedly. But he hasn't got a career here anymore. I know Eurovision doesn't get a lot of respect here, but it is still watched by millions in the UK. I think Mika would win if he entered. He'd have a wonderful song, would give a stunning performance and many Europeans would vote for him, because he's Mika, not because he's singing for UK. I've also always thought he could present Eurovision, if he didn't want to sing in it. He has the language skills and he's widely known. He'd do a great job.

    When I saw this thread I thought that Mika was doing Eurovision. I wish he was, as he's so popular in Europe and it would get him noticed in the UK again. I know a lot of people wouldn't like Mika to do it as they think it might not help his career in the UK. But he hasn't got a career in the UK anymore, so what would he have to loose by doing it? He'd gain more than he looses and he'd win for sure. But once again, I'm disappointed, after clicking on a thread with a hopeful title.

    Once again it's either Italy or France. Hurts would have been a wonderful single for the UK! Why are the best songs on his albums never released here? I'm afraid I'm not interested in some Italian movie that won't be even mentioned in the UK.

    Yes, I'm really proud of Mika for what he's done in Lebanon and I loved the radio show. It should all gain him respect in the UK. But like I said on another thread, Mika should realise that in order for his albums to sell in the UK, he needs to be more visible here. If only he would do a TV show in the UK, instead of only concentrating on Italy and France, I see no reason why he couldn't be famous here again. He also needs to do more gigs here, like he did when he first started out. I could get to a gig nearer home, or at least, not at the weekend in London. I'm happy he's doing The Palladium. I wish there were more UK dates though. There are loads in Italy and France.

    You and I and other UK fans, know it would be in Mika's best interests to get into the minds of the UK again. But Mika doesn't seem to agree. I would so love him to do The Voice UK. It would be brilliant and I'd look forward to every Saturday night, seeing him on UKTV. But every year Mika just sticks with his French and Italian shows on TV, and yet he must know his album sales would do better in the UK if he was seen on TV here. But I'm not holding my breath that he will do The Voice UK. I don't want to be disappointed again.

    David Bowie was a true music icon. A brilliant musician and an amazing singer. I'm not surprised he was on Mika's Good Guy list. I used to listen to his records in the 70s, and especially loved David Bowie's Space Odyssey song (Otherwise known as, Ground control to Major Tom) and it is very sad that he has died. RIP David Bowie.

    I doubt it myself. I'm resigned to never seeing him live again. Because, on the rare times he plays UK it's in London and it's the weekend when it's impossible to get easily from Manchester to London. So my days of seeing Mika live are over,

    Oh I've just seen the poem. I think it's perfect and needs nothing else. The words are what's important and the background doesn't take that away. I'm also so glad that the correct spelling of my name is there. I know it might sound like I'm picking on people when they spell my name wrong. It's just that there is no excuse to spell it wrong really. It is my username and one of the most famous names in the world. No one makes a mistake if they write Marilyn Monroe. I was, of course, named after her, in the 1950s which shows my great age. Thank you for emailing the poem to me. I will keep it. Thank you.

    I like the idea of the little Mika figures. I think they would look good. Please look at my username in my posts to get the right spelling if you have to write my name, on here, or on the poem. It's not Marylin as in Mary and Lin It's Marilyn, as in Mari and Lyn If in doubt, please write my name as Mari. That's what I like to be called anyway.

    Of course I agree. If someone is going to decorate the poem, then the drawings should be acknowledged. Thank you for spelling my name (Marilyn) right. You get a gold star! The post above, who spelled my name as Marylin, gets a big black mark for spelling it wrong.

    If you are thinking along those lines, you could use the tharacters and ideas in the NPIH album? I know it's not as character driven as, say, LICM, but there may be something you all can do with the idea. For instance, some of you could be angels Someone could be Devil-Boy, someone else, Devil-Girl Someone could hold up a sign with Rio on it, etc Just playing around with the ideas the album and the songs give, could produce some good stuff. Again, it's just me adding my pennyworth to what people are coming up with.

    Thank you! I would, of course love to have it decorated beautifully, for Mika. I used to have a computer with Word on it, but then we traded it in for two Android tablets, which were useless, because the videos wouldn't play on it. So we took them to a 2nd hand shop and traded them in for this laptop, but we found that Word, although there is an icon for it, doesn't come up on this computer. Normally we are not bothered as we are old-school. I would much sooner write letters the old fashioned way as I can't really type. Even with this post I've made countless mistakes. I hit the wrong keys, or miss letters out, all the time, and have to go back and correct it, which is why I could never work with computers in an office. Everything I do on a computer tends to be really hard work for me, while others can do it easily. So I thank you so much for your help with making my poem look lovely for His Royal Awesomeness.

    I didn't know about that. I didn't know the royal theme had been used. I'm not sure Mika would know The Tiller Girls, althought they were iconic at the time, but he will know about all the acts that played there. Actually... Dressing up as the acts that played the Palladium, is a brilliant idea in my opinion. For example, Dusty Springfield played there on (I think) one of the RVPs, and she was featured in his radio broadcast. So you could think of some, he's bound to know, like Freddie Mercury and Queen, or The Beatles. I don't know if David Bowie played there, but he might have done. But I think, if you do use the idea, it would be best to either focus on Pop Icons, or else, Musical Characters. To use both would be confusing.

    Yes, write that I'd love to be called Mari, please. I have, on some occasions, suggested that people, on this site, call me Mari, but I've still been getting Marylin from some people. I've started to congratulate those who spell my name right. But Mari is much easier for everyone to remember and spell right.

    I'm not going, but I have been giving it some thought. The Palladium was the place, for many years, where The Royal Variety Performance was always held ( Now it's at the Royal Albert Hall) So my suggestion is, something on a theme of royalty. We all know who is our King, don't we? Why not do something which makes him feel like King Mika. Someone could even make him a crown and throw in onto the stage (whoever is near enough could throw it to him) I could volunteer to make it and send it to someone, unless someone else wants to make it (if the idea is used, of course) It's just an idea I had. I'm sure people could embellish it with their thoughts, or think of something else entirely. It's up to all of you. If you do use the idea, someone could design a Royal Coat of Arms for King Mika. That's something that could be held up, and other stuff on a royal theme could be included.

    I honestly don't know how to do it. I don't have Word, or anything like it on my computer. That's why I suggested you copy and paste it into your Word, or similar document, if you have it. I can't do it on mine. The most important thing is the words. As long as he can read my poem, I'll be happy. Same with the letter, which I sent to your message box here because my email was down at the time.
