  1. Actually, I might call The Moore and find out what kind of arrangement they had with Sandbag for our tickets because they might know if the tickets are supposed to be will call or if they've been mailed out. I am a genius!
  2. I would, but given the way they handled my order for the album, I have ZERO confidence in their ability to communicate. If they refund my money when I send back the second copy they never charged me for, I'm just going to let it go because I've written THREE clear notes explaining that I ordered ONE album, they charged me for ONE album, they sent me TWO and they still respond that they will give me a refund if I send it back. And I'm all NO! I don't want a refund because I paid for ONE and I am keeping ONE and I am just sending back the EXTRA I wasn't supposed to get. Ok, send it back and we'll make sure you get a refund. AAAAARGH! Try to do the right thing and people just don't UNDERSTAND. (Yes, I know most people would be over the moon about this kind of error, but it completely defeats the purpose of supporting my favorite artist with my money if they are just going to give it back.) So, yeah, I'm fully expecting something tragic to happen with my tickets and to just deal with it when it does because if I don't do anything in advance, there is the least likelihood of miscommunication. The less miscommunication there is in advance, the easier it is to solve a problem IF one arises at all. And yeah, I'm hellbent on traveling without my laptop. It's a hard rule for me. I'll have my cellphone, but never my laptop. I won't even use somebody else's computer if I'm offered, unless there's an emergency of some sort or I'm away from home for an extended period of time (more than two weeks.) I'm slave enough to technology without dragging it around with me when I want to leave the world behind and experience life. If I seem inordinately terse, it's because I've been on antibiotics for 5 days and I'm getting worse instead of better, so I'm terrified that I'm going to be on my deathbed by the time Mika plays Seattle....and being on my deathbed is the ONE thing that would keep me from that show. (Well, that and not being able to get my tickets )
  3. *falls to my knees and thanks all that is pure and good in the universe that Mika exists and I know about it* Thank you for those
  4. I'm not taking my laptop when I go, so I won't have access to MFC or e-mail. It's a strict rule of mine, I never take the computer when I travel because traveling is about getting away from the computer, seeing the world, and experiencing life. I'm starting to have nightmares that I'm in Seattle and something has gone wrong, so I can't get into the venue. It's been everything from "I never received my tickets" to "Mika hates you, please leave." (Seriously, that dream sucked.)
  5. As long as I find out two days before the gig, I'm solid. If they ship them and they arrive at my house the day before the gig, I'm hosed because I'm already going to be in Seattle. I booked a room for the 25th and the 26th and won't be bringing my laptop. Hopefully nothing important at the last minute because I'll miss it if it does (unless somebody awesome has my cellphone number and calls me )
  6. Whatever is going on with him, he's looking happy and that makes me happy.
  7. Mika not single? I just heard the sound of millions of hearts breaking (And one of them was mine ) I'd read the rest of the article, but I'm actually in the middle of a conversation with a cute boy Edited to add: He turned out to be a nice boy. I may talk to him again some time
  8. This would have made me laugh if my lungs weren't on fire. Bronchitis for the lose. Sparkly masks FOR THE WIN! This fan club is awesome
  9. Most logger's jackets are. So, if most loggers wear Christmas colors, are most loggers Santa?
  10. I was sick for a week. I was well for a week. Now, I'm sick again. So, I'll definitely be over this bug before the gig, but there's no guarantee I won't catch another. Normally, I wouldn't worry about it, but I only ever get sick once each winter, so being sick multiple times has me all freaked out about it. I'm sure I'll be fine. I'm just a worry wart
  11. Thank you, Christine. I was starting to worry too...but only because I just woke up from a dream where I was getting to ready to ride the bus to Seattle and my tickets hadn't arrived yet and I got to the venue and they wouldn't let me in I think I'm just worried because I'm sick again and I really don't want to be sick on the night of the show. I don't think I would go if I was sick because I'd be too worried I'd make everybody else sick.
  12. I grew up in Montana and live in Washington. Both states are logging country. Other than being far too clean, that jacket is very much a logger's jacket
  13. Mika singing Pokerface made me grin so hard that I forgot that my throat is sore until the song was over. Today, the internet redeemed itself from my mad hate-on for it. I love the internet again
  14. HOORAY!!! (I can't go, but thrilled for everybody else!)
  15. I like both the studio versions and the acoustic versions equally. This is the part where I usually write something brilliant, but Mika has the brilliance covered whether he's doing it live or giving us full studio production.
  16. Dear Moderators and Site Designers for the MFC, The new website design is lovely in its intent to make us feel more integrated with the official Mikasounds website while celebrating the launch of Mika's new album. However, many of us are suffering eye strain and migraines as a result of the new design. This physical pain is preventing several members from participating in the ways that they did before the new site design went public. This is not merely an inconvenience for those who suffer pain, but also a sadness for those who miss the people who have had their access to the site limited by their physical pain. As a member of the group, who is suffering physical pain because of the new design, I am submitting this letter requesting that the site administrators consider making the site as accessible for its members as it used to be. I have done all I can to minimize my suffering by dimming my screen as low as I can without making it black, making sure that my display settings are as gentle on my eyes as they can be, and typing my posts in a text editor before opening the site and pasting my posts into the form that will post my text onto the forum. Despite these actions, my accessibility to the site is still limited by the physical pain caused by the new design. I humbly request the aid of the moderators and site designers to make this site as accessible as it used to be. Can the colors be adjusted to be less neon in nature? Can the old design be re-instated until the kinks are worked out of the new design? Do we have any options that would make everybody satisfied with the outcome of this request? If the site cannot be made more accessible, my participation in the group will be limited to the point that I may have to cease participation entirely. Please, help me avoid that outcome. This community means the world to me. I don't want to leave if there is any way to avoid that outcome. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
  17. That is seriously the best stop motion video in the contest. Well worth the wait! I LOVE IT! It was the first thing I saw this morning, so it started my day off on a much needed happy note :huglove:

  18. I think emotions are high, so people are reading things with the worst tone in their head instead of realizing that the person was probably "speaking " in a softer tone. I'm typing with my eyes closed and glancing at the screen sideways. I want to keep up with the discussion, but I'm so far past needing to call it quits at this point. Here's hoping that a solution can be found that will satisfy everybody.

  19. That is high praise and very much appreciated! Thank you so much!

Now, I must go rest my eyes because this site really is too much for me.

  20. I starting to worry that they may have booked everybody in the front row! Then, I went and checked the seating chart and saw that there are three A1 on the front row and two more A1 in the box seats. I'm so excited that it's going to be a big MFC party in the front row. Right now, it's looking like I'll be there by myself, so it's nice to know I'll be surrounded by friendly people
  21. Most of my friends have had swine flu this year. We're all trying to figure out why everybody is so freaked out because it's just flu. I'm old school. I still sneeze into tissues and dispose of them in the trash and followup with a good handscrub. Wash your hands. Wash your hands. Wash your hands.
