  1. I wish it were as simple as that but I had thought about it and watched the LICM DVD on several players, friends’ and relatives’, the result was the same. The thing is, some copies are better –or worse- than others (I bought three, I am a bit frantic, but then I am a fan, starts with an ‘f’ too… and come to think of it, so does ‘freak’…). A friend of mine told me it might be some kind of device to make copying the disk even more difficult. I really don't know. Anyway, thanks a lot for trying to help. Cheers, Id3
  2. Thanks for the Italian thread, Robertina ; it helps me brush up my Italian, which badly needs it ! .:thumb_yello:

  3. Please Avoca, don't give him ideas or he will start shaving his toes too !

  5. Why buy the DVD (even several copies of it) and still download bits of it ? Because, for some unfathomable reason, the synchronization between image and sound is perfect on utube and crappy on the DVD. At least that's what happened with the LICM DVD and I don't see why it shouldn't be the same with the PdesP DVD. How can that mysterious phenomenon be explained ? Search me !
  6. Mika’s new DVD has completely reconciled me with the PdesP show, although it doesn't do justice to the wild atmosphere in the audience, the only thing I could really enjoy that night as I was miles away from the stage. I don’t think I have ever heard Mika in fullest command of his magnificent voice. At least till the first version of Grace Kelly but even then, thanks to his training, he was able to control it. How right was John to call him 'Sire", as an artist he is the king of kings. Will it be blasphemous to say that if I had known there would be such a good recording of the concert I would not have been there ? It may be exciting for a musician to perform in front of an audience of about 50 000 (the stadium was not entirely full) but as a spectator my appreciation doesn’t increase with the size of the crowd. Rather the reverse. The documentary was disappointing. :furious:First, as usual and it’s even worse than for the Olympia DVD, sound and image are not synchronized ; the image follows the sound by at least half a second. They should really find themselves decent technicians. :bored:Then, as in the first DVD, we are generously shown some bits twice. It can become slightly boring at times, as the message sent is more or less always the same : what a challenge, I didn’t really intend to do that kind of thing that early in my career, it’s cost me the earth, we are terrified, etc. He didn’t have to tell us, his speaking voice on stage revealed how tense he was. But I am going to watch the disk again and again in the weeks to come and hopefully enjoy even that part. And the show itself was so brilliantly filmed that it is worth buying a hundred copies ! I am working on it : have already bought the standard version of the DVD and am waiting for Amazon UK to send me the Deluxe one...
  7. But I think the ringmaster mentality is very Mika- people jumping through hoops at his command, him controlling the show... So true. And Camber looks great in that pic- none of your poncey mediterranean beaches for me! I wish he went back to the Riviera beach in Beirut instead. The weather's gorgeous there at the moment and great as Camber looks we don't want him to freeze his balls off.
  8. You're forgiven because... :dance_man:I'm getting the DVD tomorrow !
  9. He is just teasing ; bet you we get the new album just before Xmas.
  10. Not my favourite brew either... And arena shows may be good for his ego but I do hope he still performs in smaller places in the future
  11. What a relief ! I thought I was the only one to have fantasies about Mika in -and out of- the shower... Do you think we should start a group called 'The group of scientifically-interested-to-put-Mika-in-the-shower fans'? Unless you believe there would be too many of us ? If you start it, let me know, I am in.
  12. :dance_man:I can't believe I'm getting it tomorrow...they'd better have received it when I go to the shop ! I hope the PdesP DVD is better synchronized than the Olympia one : there was a split second's difference between the image and the sound, enough to be irritating. Sorry for the American fans who will get it a week after the French. But the more you wait the better it will feel when you are at last able to watch it, don't you think ?

  14. Your last post was not clumsy at all.

What you described is unconditional love, the kind of love parents feel for and give their children. It is so sweet and Mika is a lucky devil !

Will you be my MFC friend ? :huglove:

  15. :sad:I am afraid so. Watch again the tofu doll blog, the top of his head filmed from above. He is definitely facing incipient baldness. His hair must be naturally straight (the black and white pics of Mika as a boy and an adolescent) and he probably had a perm to get the gorgeous curly style. Perms are deadly for hair and he may well have chosen to let it rest a bit. Add to that a little I-don’t-want-to-grow-up experimenting… and you get sometimes awful:annoyed_h4h:, sometimes very cute:drool:, results.
  16. Easy... go back to some of your posts and other MFCers.

    Cheers.

  17. Being harassed by fools is orgasmic... pity kids don't realize it : there would be no bullying at school. Might tell Mika next time I see him. Maybe better not : not need to rekindle unhappy memories.

  18. Thanks, the pics on stage have reconciled me with his new haircut. What looks absolutely ridiculous is the cockscomb on the first picture that circulated here (your third pic) ; he has let his chest hairs grow back though, many thanks to the man/woman/teacup he is currently dating and convinced him to do that. As for the 'oh dear his mum didn't have enough fabric to finish his jacket' look, let's not fool ourselves : Mika is stylish all the time, on and off stage, dressed up or dressed casually, but in his own way. And I am not uncomfortable with the custom made clothes, boxers included ; in my view being well off and born with a silver spoon in your mouth is hardly a deadly sin. Given Mika's story it might well be a blessing, musically speaking : if being inflexible when dealing with record companies had meant not being able to pay his rent or eat properly, he might have been tempted to compromise. Maybe not : Jacques Brel, who didn't want to ask his well to do parents for their help survived on a diet of one camembert a day for weeks on end.
