  1. Possibly. I had typed a post before reading yours : 'Have found the weird interview on utube : First part is called : ‘Holy Moly interrogates Alan Cumming’ (short one, doesn’t talk about Mika there). Second part : ‘When Holy Moly met… Alan Cumming’ (must be there that he mentions Mika, couldn’t watch it through, had pbs with my connection). I must say that Alan Cumming wearing too short pants showing his hairy legs, making fruity faces with his too small mouth when thinking a question over before answering it and having obviously had his hair done in an unbecoming dark brown to hide the grey spots is not an experience I am going to renew at dinner time … But we don’t like the guy because he is attractive, do we ? And he is such a remarkable actor : again, 'Aniversary Party', a real treat ! I copied somewhere a long interview (easy to find through ‘Google’) where Alan talks about his unhappy childhood –hard father, weak and tender mother- and lots of other very personal stuff ; most interesting .
  2. OK, so that was just my French dirty mind (we French call that having a 'key-hole-shaped-mind...') working overtime. To my defense, Alan first married a woman ; I believe he is married now or at least partnered to an American designer or painter, something like that -DDG , wouldn't kick the guy out of my bed !-. So he is rather whimsical in his sexual orientations too. Good for him, best way not to miss an opportunity . And yes, let's wait for the next few albums to see if Mika only goes on enchanting us or if he can surprise us as well. Would be on the second but who knows ?
  3. As well you should !

Thanks a load for the information :huglove:...

    Cheers,

  4. Wendi,

So happy :dance_man: I could trace a Scot... or are you just a resident there ?

Anyroads, I have been dying to start a club with people (Scottish or not) who are deeply, madly, completely in love with Scotland but don't know how to do it.

    Can you help ?

    Would you be in ?

    Cheers,

  5. Too lazy to write it again but you can read my today's visitor's message to Racha :thumb_yello:... We are at least three of a mind. But very likely many more.

  6. Dear Racha,

Have just been trying to send you a private message but not sure it went through...

It was about the fourth and fifth paragraphs of your yesterday's post answering Soaring Simpson's and I could'nt agree more with you about the magnificent 'B' gigs :thumb_yello: .

Feel so privileged I was there :wub2: ... Sorry you couldn't make it to the Werchter festival though, it was :insane:, on and off stage !

Peace be with you and Lebanon.

  7. As far as the first question is concerned, I am hopeless to tell you how to get there : I just browse dailymotion or myspace (I think it was one of those) and find interesting stuff. Some MFCer more clever than I am (easy !) is bound to give you a link. If not and you are becoming desperate, write your address on a private message, I'll copy the interview and send it to you. Diversity ? Do you mean his liking different kinds of flowers or styles of clothes, or... ?
  8. Nope :emot-sad:... will go back to the forum to beg for information or send very touching 'Help' messages :crybaby: to my MFC friends.

    Cheers,

  9. He interviewed Mika -before the Somerset House gig, I think-, can't remember whether I found it on utube or dailymotion. You can also find a strange interview -he is the interviewee, that time- when he talks about Mika, their going out together after the concert and Mika sucking on a giant Lollipop and denies doing (he doesn't use a 'd' word though) him in spite of all the gossip. He is quite a good actor. I highly recommand The anniversary party, a bitter sweet comedy he made as well as played I believe.
  10. Very likely because he is a Universal artist ( for want of a better word...).
  11. I know, Mika introduced him on a French blog (La Rochelle, I think) as the guy who had committed (not his word, mine) the lyrics. You are very kind when you describe them as 'crap', I wish I were as tolerant as you are.
  12. Have been watching the PdesP show again and found my favourite part : a couple of seconds starting at 48 mn 13 s, during Just can't get enough. There is a young woman there (twentyish I would say), standing in the first rows, completely dazzled : while the other spectators sing along with Mika and the chorists she is totally motionless, staring at the stage with an incredible intensity ; she is literally alone with the performers. She was filmed at the Olympia gig too (don't have the time to watch it right now but noticed her on the DVD), and she behaved in exactly the same way. It is incredibly touching, you feel at the same time happy for her and wishing you could reach the same degree of blissfull concentration in the middle of such a crowd. Is she one of us. Well, she obviously is a fan, but is she a MFCer ? Do you know her ? Did she spot herself on the DVD ?
  13. Made myself watch again the DVD documentary, as it was –and still is- the part I liked least and it reminded me of a post I read here, about somebody wishing some of the blogs were more than Mika being interesting. That was a bit bitchy but I think it applies to the PdesP DVD too : after ten or fifteen minutes you start wishing there were a bit more than Mika being impressed by what he is going to do… his navel is very cute indeed but there are other thrilling things outside of it too, although to be fair he was probably unable, at that point, to think about anything but his big project . A more clever editing might have done the trick ; when I watched the LICM DVD I remember being irritated when an interview was cut and we were shown parts of live performances but on the PdesP DVD I would have welcomed them, I suppose. And talking about blogs, I kind of miss them too and am not particularly ashamed of demanding them ...
  14. Oh dear ! Another case of 'She's the one'... and my version is actually better than his, more poetic and makes more sense. I should probably offer to co-write his lyrics (one of these days my modesty is going to kill me ) or at least to translate into French some of his songs : a few lines of the French GK are downright ridiculous and hearing Mika sing them hurt like hell ! He should have had someone edit the stuff.
  15. Or because you think he is addressing you and 'Darling' is the pet name he calls you when you guys are alone ?
  16. Id3, king of typos...

Thank you for the tag. Actually I think his ‘turning all Céline’ (a quote from a previous interview) on July 4th was more a touch wood, fingers crossed thing than a way to spare his voice ; I have heard that Céline Dion stops talking 24 hours before a big show…

You had Mika’s horoscope made ? Did you somehow manage to get hold of his birth time ? I am so jealous ! If you did, name your price, tell me who I have to kill or whose child I have to kidnap, any favour in exchange for that precious information.

    Cheers, Leo,

  18. Just to avoid having to face a law suit for 'borrowing' part of a song, perhaps ? He seems to be very sensitive about the law : when somebody played a practical joke on him and sent him a letter or phoned him, allegedly from the palace in Monaco and complaining about the negative image his song gave of the late princess Grace, he phoned his -female- lawyer right away (or so he said in an interview).
  19. Personally I am not overly fond of the Bambi/Peter Pan/I don't want to grow up touch ... as in the 'Dancing with light' blog. Honestly, did it deserve a whole blog ! But again we take the boring with the exciting and we obviously don't all react the same way to the same things. So, I am really happy you liked that part.
  20. Thank you, Love ! Yes, come to think of it it does look like Dusseldorf. You have to see Mika live, you know that, don't you ? Next album, next tour, you are going to be the one standing right in the middle , first row, just against the stage , even if it means camping for a couple of days in front of the theatre... Thanks again. Id3
  21. Not to worry : I loved the hugging :blush-anim-cl:!

  22. I am relieved to realize that even English-speaking fans hear different words when listening to Mika’s songs : I thought it was me pretending to understand the language while it’s just him changing sounds with his incredible voice. I had a more or less similar experience with B. Springsteen’s ‘She’s the one’ before I got hold of the lyrics. I had managed to re-write the song with the bits and pieces I could make out and when I finally read the official lyrics I was a bit disappointed ; I had kind of grown fond of my own version !
