  5. Finally finding time to write my little report I know everything has already been said, even more than necessary actually , but as this day was whithout any doubt the best "mika day" I've experienced so far, I feel like writting about it Woke up at 11 am (), packed my stuff and arrived at the venue around 3 pm to find everyone patiently waiting for the doors to open. Just had time to give the tickets i had for some people and everyone rushed to the barriers to get ready to enter the arenas. From my point of view it was quite funny to watch to be honnest as we saw people moving from one point to another several times before everyone finally rushed against the barriers again and stayed there until the doors opening. I have to apologize to people to who i've told several time that no one appart MFC would be there at the doors opening as it's usually the case in Switzerland 'cause this time there were actually a few people more. Anyway, everyone managed to find a place at the barriers wo it's great As my friend and I were not in a "let's wait for ours in the sun" mood, we had a drink with a french fan who was in the same mood and we finally got in the venue eround 6pm. We saw the 1st group from the very top of the arenas and I have to say I really liked it! I knew their music already but it was very special to hear them live and I loved seeing people dancing and having fun in the arena. After that we had somthing to eat, made a little visit to our "first row friends" to make sur they had water to drink and everyone was OK despite the sun and we then went away from 1st row to find a seat and watch Sexion d'Assault. Behind us was a group of friendly people working for the festival and we had a little talk with them. I gave one of them a pill against her headaches and the gig started. It was great to see how the audience was on fire. Tbh their music is not really my cup of tea, especially because i know their "homophobic" past. But my friend and I had lot of fun trying to understand what they were singing (yes because even for native french speakers it's impossible to understand what they say ).suddelny during the gig, the women I gave a pill before gave us 3 pass to go at the "artists bar" to thank us. We were quite happy to find and excuse to leave and went down to the bar which was under the stage, inside the arena. Of course there were absolutely no artists there (I discovered afterwards that it was right next to the loges though) but we had a drink there while watching the end of the show on TV which was just fine When the gig ended we went outside to have a look at the situation and see if it was possible to reach one of the first row and we were happy to discover there still was plenty of space right behind some of our MFC friends, at 2nd row so we stayed there. This is what I like the most in Swiss festival: people always move between gigs and it's not rare to find free spaces at the front row. We were all quite excited before the gig started and we rapidly discovered mika was too when he got on stage As much as i had doubts about the fact of begenning a gig with Un Soleil Mal Luné at Caprices festival, this time I felt it was just the best choice! I can't really explain why but the emotions already got so intense even if it was the first song. As a lot of you already explained, the rest of the gig was just perfect! Mika was in a very joyfull mood, there were a LOT of different emotions and I loved it. I've been really touched to see his reaction to our little surprise on Origin (was too busy watching him, the venue in general and playing with my balloon to film anything though, so a huge THANK YOU to people who managed to do it ) and I went completely crazy with the balloons on Celebrate i also thought i was going to die when they threw the confettis because I was right under the canon and there were so many of them I loved how Mika looked amazed everytime he was hearing the audience sing his songs. He said that, due to the configuration of the venue, he could hear us very well and that he loved it and played with us making us sing loud or not, etc. It was great! Basically: the venue was amazing, Mika was amazing and the audience was amazing too = A PERFECT gig!! at the end of the gig, we made our best to follow the other MFCers to the entrance of the backstages to go to the M&G. Unfortunaltely there were still many non MFCer people when people went to the entrance and many of them tried to get in also. I was right behind a group a 4 girls who did not let me make any move to try to get in with my friend, so we first saw a lot of MFCers go away in the backstage without being able to move at all. I tried to call them but no one heard me, which is just normal regarding the general noise. After a minute or so, I saw Nina coming back and trying to let some other MFCers get in. I tried to call her but there was too much noise and it was still impossible for me to move with those girls in front of me so Nina didn't see me either (Nina, please be sure I'm not angry against you AT ALL. The confusionn was horrible and you could not see or hear everyone in the mess! Thank you for trying though, I know how difficult it is to deal with this kind of situation). In the end, out of the M&G were only a young french fan with her sisters and mother and my friend and me ( and several non MFCer). The security guy rushed to put the barriers back and was constantly saying that it was over and we had no chance to get in... Of course I was a bit disappointed (and a bit frustrated because somehow I always manage to be first among the "left outside" at those special M&G's ) but I did take the whole situation pretty well and tried to comfort the poor young french fan and her sisters instead of being angry against I don't know who for smthg no one was really responsible of. After very looong minutes of awaiting, my friend and I went back and decided to just wait here for people to get out of the M&G when we saw Mama P. coming out of the backstages and have a look at the situation. I went to her and explained her we were from MFC. I don't know if she recognized me or anybody else but she let us enter with only a few hesitation. I must have thank her dozen times on our way to the VIP area! Anyway, we finally got in the M&G area and arrived just as Mika was watching the video from Korean fans. We unfortunately missed his reaction to the MFC present though But we were happy to be there with everyone. At first the whole situation was very strange for me because as soon as we got in the M&G, a sister of the young french fan who got in with me felt bad and i had to call for help so my vision was on one side mika and his fans smiling, having fun and looking extremely happy, and at the back of the tent the poor girl lying on the floor with 2 first aid men trying to make her feel better and her mother looking extremely anxious. the contrast between thos 2 scenes was really weird I did not try to talk to Mika or even to get closer to him 'cause there were already so many people calling him and giving him presents and I felt he was quite tired because he did not have any break between getting down of stage and the M&G. But I enjoyed the champagne very much instead Finally the girl who felt bad left the place with her family and the first aid guys (I hope everything went fine for her afterwards but as she was on her feet I suppose she was). And I enjoyed staying for a while at the M&G and having a drink with people I only see at gigs. When the man came out and "asked" us to leave the place i thought he was quite rude actually but of course I had no idea some people were trying to take pictures into Mika's tent which is so stupid We went back to the venue with some french fans and my friend and we were offered some free ice-cream because they were closing the festival and they wanted to get rid of what they still had. What a perfect way to end this perfect day (OMG looks like my small report is finally a very long one I'm sorry about that but i couldn't just say "Ive had a brilliant day" and move on to something else )

  10. I'm so happy he's doing this one!! The venue is beautiful as it's in an anthic theater: If you're thinking about this one hurry up to buy your tickets 'cause it's usually quickly sold out
  11. thank you :huglove:

mmmh! those cupcakes look yummy!!! :teehee:

  12. Unfortunately I wasn't filming when it happened and I don't know if anyone else was. I can't say if it was because of the drummer... Mika didn't go directly to him when it happened but went to the keyboard player instead. Anyway as I said it was my first experience with the new band and it looks like i've been the only one disturbed with this so maybe i was just expecting too much of them
  13. Thanks everyone for your pics and reports I must admit it's been a great night!! It was my first gig since july 2011 and I'm absolutely happy he came to Switzerland one more time! The audience in the french part of Switzerland is always VERY reactive to his music and it's a wonderful sensation to hear thousand of people singing during the whole gig! There's always such a great interaction between him and the audience here now I only wish he'll finally do a proper gig around here and not only festivals I've been really happy to welcome some MFCers at my place and to meet or see again others at the gig! it's always such a pleasure! I came to the festival only at 6.30 pm as I know swiss people are not really the kind of people who love waiting for hours before a gig (especially when they've been skiing or working during the day ) and took all my time to visit the festival before reaching the stage a moment before Nelly Furtado was on. As I was 2nd row I had a perpect spot and it was great! I absolutely loved her performance and it's been a great surprise for me! She's really communicative and the audience was on fire during her show, i loved it! As I'm not very convinced with Mika's 3rd album, I was happy to hear some of the new songs live and make my opinion about how they sound. In the whole i've been positively surprised and i'm glad about that. As I said on twitter I've been quite disappointed with the musicians though... They're absolutely transparent on the stage, never have a single look to the audience and most of all don't communicate between them nor follow Mika... I had the impression HE was following them all the time and I did not really like this impression...They completely ruined the "like a fish out of water" etcc. part in Lola. to such a extend that Mika had to stop singing.... and the completely failed the beginning of Popular too... I don't think the general audience noticed anything, nor cared about how transparent they were though but, as I've experienced how joyfull and colorfoul the shows were with Jimmy, imma, Cherisse, etc., on stage, I'm pretty dispointed with the actual team... anyway Mika was great and I had a lot of fun which is the most important I've not made a lot of pictures but here they are: https://picasaweb.google.com/114166420167457370628/MikaCapricesFestival15032013?authuser=0&feat=directlink and here are some videos: a part of Underwater: http://youtu.be/9dpsle5rfQQ Mika speaking: http://youtu.be/GGwvs69qGao (basically he's saying that he always feels like being naked on stage when he starts a tour and thanks the audience for making him feel perfectly relaxed) and a part of lollipop: http://youtu.be/UjVXRrvRn20
  14. Hey Don't have time to write a proper report now as I'm leaving in a few minutes and still have Mikaguests at home but I'll do one later with pictures, etc... The gig was great and the interaction between mika and the audience was amazing! Peaqople sang from the very beginning to the end! From TOOL he sang Lola, Popular, LYWID and celebrate. And he started the gig with Un Soleil mal luné. A lot of "old songs" from LICM (which was just fine for me ). He finished with WAG, I wasn't expecting it at all! I left before he came out with some french girls as the weather was so cold! it was pretty late and we had a 2 hours drive to return to my place... Will post an entire report later
  15. There was an interview in Le Matin on saturday, it's in french but here it is: here is a quick translation (if anyone want to do it better, please feel free, I'm at work and don't have time to translate everything...). on march 15th you'll play in a ski station, is it a first time in snow for you? yes it is. (silence) Actually no, i'm completely wrong! I've made a gig in Salt Lake city 4 years ago. The gig was full and the team was waiting when we realized instruments, lights, etc... won't be able to make it to the place because the trucks were in snow. We refund the gig but played anyway and asked everyone to come with music instruments and finally made a acoustic gig. One of the best I've had. So, your audience should be ready to come with guitars and drums? *he laughs* no! This time we'll have time to deal with weather conditions as I have no gig before or after the festival. Will you be wearing skis? I don't think so. But we're preparing a little surprise for my Swiss audience. are you offering us a scoop? You know that I'm not.! *laughs* I want to keep the surprise secret. Your album is out since a few months now, are you happy about it? Completely. I think there are a few very good songs in it and I'm proud about it. However, it worked well in some countries and not at all in others. In France and generally in Europe the album is doig well. In the United states too, i'm very happy about the way it's working there. However, in the Uk it's still very complicated for me. It's a country that I love, but there will always be some unexplainable artistical intolerances there regarding certain kind of music. Look at the US, there are so many kind of pop music that it's common now (any help for the translation is welcome in this part ) From Regina Spektor to Rufus Wainwright, thoses over talented artists are free too play with melodies without being judged. Why, after your huge success, this failed relatioship with this country is still bothering you so much? I live in london. I'm there precisely because there are some amazing studios and musicians that I love. In the end, maybe I love this city because I'm artistically anonymous there too. I can lock myself in a studio and don't care about anything eles than my universe. Is it the same in the streets? No, a little less, because I am know in the medias. But, still, when conitnental people come naturally say hello, English people pretend not to recognise you. Maybe this will change with time. Speaking about time, you never appreciate when we talk about maturity speaking about you... because maturity is only made for cheese and wine! that's why you're still so well in your role of Pop buffoon? I'm not playing a role. it's me and nothing else. I've never pretended to be a clown only to make people laugh. If one day you'll need to be a little more introvert, do you think you'll be allowed to? As nothing is set in advance, I'll never ask myself if my evolution can please people or not. I'll still want to be serious in dealing with fantasy and mixing black and colors together. I love Nina Simone for this reason. She made pub music, night music, with this omnipresent sadness. As did Cocteau. He could speak about poetic matters, surrealistic and serious, but always with an amazing naivety. Marcel Marceau, Charlie Chaplin, there are a lot of genius who helped me to understand that I could, and should, fight to be myself. do artists only create because they can't find their place?$ More than finding their place, i think they need to have a critical look on the place they're in. As in Tod Browning's movie "Freaks". We need monsters. In a circus we can put freaks into light and try to convince ourselves that we're not one. I almost feel like being a circus animal (he laughs) You're joining "Les Enfoirés" this year, why? I've been invited, it's not nothing! I did not know if this group of ego singing for a cause was really sincere. Once there, I realized they are. A room for women and another for men, without any "chichi" (translation???? ) I've changed my clothed in front of Jean-Jacques Goldman (a famous french singer) it's not nothing! *laugh* People often say that Les enfoirés is made of has been people... I did not feel that at all! you really think all of them has a ruined carreer? What about yours? *laughs* mine is really fine, sir, and I don't have any fear about it. future? I'm writing for american people and for cinema too. I need some "outside" projects to be able to write again for myself. which means a new album? yes. i'm composing at the piano, there is less electronic sounds. You know who Billy Joel is? there you are. True american pop music. Ambitious isn't it?
  16. There's a competition to win tickets here: http://www.iomedia.ch/fr/concours/
  17. I've never been to this festival but I can say it's NOT an outdoor festival The temperatures should not be that bad either (except if we have extraordinary weather conditions this year, which was the case last year as it was snowing a lot during the festival actually ). Anyway, generaly in march the temperatures start getting warmer so don't worry too much about being cold one last point: swiss people do not really like queuing especially at festivals in the french area of Switzerland . Therefore, PLEASE, there is absolutely no need to get ill waiting for hours outside as no one will probably come very early as they'll be skiing, working, etc...
  18. ooooooooooooooh! true!!!! silly me I'm sorry Don't worry, we still have plenty of time to think to that festival. Anyway, I'm glad we'll get the chance to meet again there (and I pormise I won't forget your MFC name until then )
  19. yes, but I don't see any for the 15th I've found this hotel: http://www.hoteldulac-crans-montana.ch/pages/tarifs.php and maybe you should check in Sierre, the nearest city "down the mountain". There are free buses traveling from Sierre to Crans-Montana during the festival and hotels are cheaper there oh, where do you live exactely? ^^ (I'm in Lausanne ). Have you already been to this festival? if so, tells us everything you can
  20. the probably have something arranged with the train. But trains don't go there so you'll have to take a bus to reach the place. Anyway, I'll check if their are some offers combining train+festival tickets ;-)
  21. hem... actually it's not near Geneva at all https://maps.google.ch/maps?q=crans+montana+carte&hl=fr&hq=crans+montana&hnear=Renens,+Vaud&t=m&z=8 The Festival's website will be updated tonight, I'll give you more info as soon as i'll find them As it's been annouced in swiss newspapers tonight, I believe we can consider it's not a rumour any more, is it? anyway, I'll find more infos and will let you know. All i can say now is that, as it's in the mountains, it's not easy to go there if you don't have any car and hotels are quite expensives right next to the festival, but you can find cheaper ones not far away here is a (very small indeed) picture giving you an idea of the place:
  22. wow! congrats for the choir!! I'm glad you'll have the chance to be on stage and to all of you going to the gig, i'll be thinking of you! have a great time (and you definitely should manage a little time in the City, the "old" Zurich is really nice!)
