  1. But faire can also mean do. When you and me do boum boum boum makes more sense. I like the verb version better though
  2. I really think he says Je prends les kilos de tequila I clearly hear the l in les and the d in de. If he put on weight and drank tequila, the second the de would be le (assuming tequila is male). Taking litres of tequila would have made more sense, but that doesn't fit in the rhythm. So I would say he really takes kilos of tequila when his lover is not around. And as Chris said, he sure didn't put on weight
  3. You need to show me that elevator at some point Edit: that sounds a lot naughtier than I meant it. I did intend to take my boyfriend on it, not anyone else
  4. That's the point: with an elevator you never know when it might fill up. And they get that bell boy in trouble if his boss finds out he's not on the elevator
  5. Although I do think it is important to have an open discussion about sex with your children, I'm not sure sex in an elevator sets the best example Edit: just to make clear: I don't think it's any less appropriate for children than any other Mika song.
  6. There, go Mika (and he who's name presumably still is not to be mentioned in public threads).
  7. I have a physical single version of celebrate, but it was a promo version.
  8. I agree. Not all songs need to be intellectual masterpieces, but this is very far removed from it. I'm sure I'll hear it more often though. I bet my boyfriend will love it, and since he doesn't speak French he won't mind the lyrics. The celebrate video was better than the song, or so I thought... I don't think she sounds like Kylie Minogue
  9. You know, I actually wouldn't be surprised if he wrote quite a lot of those lyrics himself. I can't imagine Doriand coming up with the toi et moi on fait boum boum boum part, there's English words scattered all over the song, the construction of the sentences is relatively simple, and the emphasis of the words doesn't always fit the rhythm (pourquoi je t'aime should have the emphasis on quoi, right, not on pour? Not sure why he does that, it's not even necessary for the rhythm. It is necessary for voisins, where he also cheats with the emphasis) Mika does that even in English sometimes, but I can't remember Doriand messing around with the emphasis, or does he? And I don't think Doriand knows so many oum words from the Arabic world. The only double meaning I could find so far is the septième ciel part, but being in an elevator ascending to seventh heaven because you're having sex would work in English as well. Am I missing other deep lyrics/word jokes? I'm a bit confused by the 'screaming' part because that gives the song a serious not all of a sudden that doesn't seem to fit the silly boum boum boum. Still, it is probably my favourite part of the song, since I like that bit of drama
  10. Well... I do think the boum boum boum is a bit silly. I'll have to get my head around the whole 'it's not vulgar' statement combined with that expression
  11. Slowly and painfully, for sure. It might be so slow he still gets to finish his 4th album before she's done though
  12. UK is a lost cause, and not only because the single is in French. It needs to be played on R1 to get famous and it won't be played there unless it is famous. You see the problem. And that doesn't just go for R1. In de UK Mika is a one hit wonder and that's not going to change. We can blame that on Mika for not being there enough, but at this point it really wouldn't make a difference if he were. In 2008 it would have worked, but now he simply won't be invited for stuff that could get him back in the picture. He was interesting for X-factor Italy because he was an international star and thus made X-factor more 'important' just by being there. He doesn't have that going for him in the UK. The only possible route at this point would be the internet, like stromae or psy, and even then it would probably have to be through the US before anyone in the UK noticed it. Obviously this is very unlikely, so I'd try to make it big in the countries where it stands a chance so at least some record company will feel the record might sell enough for them to put an effort in it.
  13. No, he'll use it as a drumstick. Along with his other drumstick.
  14. And one is playing the drums. Obviously that's making a boum boum boum sound
  15. And this would be shocking why? About 50% of the world's population has a penis, what's so interesting about it? Given the accuracy of the representation, I don't think he had to pose for it.
  16. Not literally, but it's nothing new. He says that luxury to him is not a nice watch or fashion, but that the true luxury is freedom. And then the fashion vs style story and mixing cheap and expensive clothes that he's told a zillion times before.
  17. Hm, searching for your posts only shows me the last 500 of them I'd say you haven't changed that much though http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1101317&postcount=20 I was looking for your introduction thread, but it seems you don't have one. And now I'll stop stalking you and start doing something more useful with my time...
  18. Seriously? I'm not sure what surprises me more: the outcome or the fact that you started the poll. I should read the threads from back then to see what honeymoon-Christine was like
  19. Welcome, enjoy the MFC!
  20. But then he's aiming at the 120 million that are so inactive they don't even know him yet
  21. True, all I'm saying is that in my opinion his facebook should be aimed at the inactive three million rather than at the ten thousand, especially if aiming it at the ten thousand means losing the three million. Ten thousand is not enough to create a buzz anyway. Maybe on twitter you could get somewhere with ten thousand, but not on facebook.
