  1. I don't think that's true though. Perhaps the people that comment on their posts, but not the others. And that makes it so stupid to post these things on facebook. I follow artists I vaguely like so I keep up to date on new music. I am considering unfollowing lady gaga because all she seems to be doing lately is post videos of her playing with her dog. I like seeing videos of Mika playing with his dog, but I really don't care about any other celebrity playing with their dogs, and I'm pretty certain the majority of those 3 million people that like Mika on facebook are not interested in silly fan posters and would just like to know when he has a new cd out. If they get too annoyed, they'll stop following his facebook and have no way to notice there's a new cd they could buy. So, Mika facebook team, please pretend it's a fanpage for a proper singer. If you really want to include fans by showing what they are sending, make an album on mikasounds.com with 'selected gifts of fans'. You'd only have to update it once a month or so, and while you're at it and have the website-editor open anyway, you might want to update the rest of the site as well.
  2. Other climates? The climate you'd need is somewhere cold, but no snow. Maybe on the moon? I can imagine them being comfortable in winter though.
  3. Or maybe he just didn't think her tweets were interesting. I might be oldfashioned, but that's the only reason I unfollow someone...
  4. Ok, let's go Ohhh, what a lovely picture! What is he looking at? Where is Morgan's hand? Omg omg omg he tweeted something :boing:
  5. Would you find the info more reliable if it came from Mika?
  6. And you should. As I tend to stay away from twitter nowadays, and definitely from those corners of twitter, the discussion I saw was about turning up for this event, not about the way fans are treating each other. Although I suppose most discussions boil down to that
  7. You're right, there is a difference between public and non-public work. If I have to work but spend the day in the office without seeing clients, I'll dress less formal too. And yes, it has happened that a client was in the neigbourhood and decided to drop by. Well, too bad, and if they have a problem with my attire in that case, I completely consider it their problem not mine (in fact one client told me she had sneakers in her bag to put on instead of her killer heels on such an occasion ). But his tweet didn't mention a private gig, but a secret gig. Tweeting about a secret gig removes its secrecy, making it a logical assumption (or at least not an illogical one) that it is now a public event, especially since Swatch has hosted public events before. Tweeting about a private gig is a different matter, although he can also have people that saw him wait for him outside after a private gig (as apparently there were in this case). The nature of a gig is different from a studio day. I didn't see this discussion when US fans turned up at the filming of Celebrate, by the way.
  8. I think this is the reason I'm uneasy with the discussion here. The stalking in the sense of going to his house or a restaurant or party he's at is one thing (and a terrible one too) but to me this is different. First of all because based on that tweet, I think people could hope to get in, so I don't blame them for trying. As for sticking around to wait for him afterwards, I don't think I would have done that (although it was probably fun to hang around with friends, so I might have stuck around as I have after previous gigs). I don't have any serious objections to it either. The reason is that his was not part of his private life. He was working. And that to me is a huge difference. Finishing a concert doesn't mean the work is finished. Getting past fans - crazy or otherwise - is part of the job. If I go to a client I'll sometimes have comfortable shoes in my bag. But I won't switch shoes until I'm a few hundred metres away, because as long as I am in sight, I'm working. For me that means I have to look professional, for Mika it means dealing with fans. In my time off I happily wear old shoes that I haven't polished in months, and Mika shouldn't have to deal with fans in his time off. But when working it's a different story imo.
  9. Merci beaucoup Antoine! I liked it, not as soul-crushing as the original, but the two of them did a good job and really complemented each other. Kendji with his strong and powerful voice and Mika putting the emotions and fragility in there, it was a good combination.
  10. That would be one reason for not wanting to see it. I love that song, gives me the chills every time I hear it. And I know Mika can sing Barbara, he proved that with la solitude, which frankly I like better than the original. But I don't think serious/sad songs are Kendji's strongest point, and Mika can go either way with them too. That's why I had, and still have, my doubts. I'll watch it at some point though, for sure.
  11. Mika singing l'aigle noir with Kendji? I'm not sure whether I can't wait to see it or don't want to see it. How did they do?
  12. Hello Irene, my name is Irene too. Welcome to the MFC!
  13. Guy, you made me smile, thank you. I think a real card would be a very nice gesture. At the same time, I must admit I still have to send a 'congratulations with your baby boy' card to a niece that conceived about 4 months ago so don't pay attention to me if it's a hassle to arrange. It's my boyfriend's niece, so technically he should send the card, but still, I'm terrible
  14. I think enregistrement also means record, but perhaps some French person can shine some light on this? Edit: it would make more sense that he started that last Monday than registering them.
  15. Flowers or Dita What was the weather like in the London today? Here it was way too cold to be driving around like that, especially for someone with a cold.
  16. This was just posted in the French thread. http://m.telestar.fr/2014/articles/news/mika-parle-de-son-amoureux-andy-comme-dans-tous-les-couples-on-a-des-jours-avec-27367 It's beginning to seem these pictures were no accident.
  17. He doesn't look sick to me. I think the tissues are there so he can wipe his hands after eating some of the delicious stuff that is hiding behind that big bag
