Yes, I was at a shop the other day with my sister and it came up. I actually told her: "right singer, wrong song". I even heard underwater the other day. I was staying in a hotel, sitting in the lobby talking to a colleague, and suddenly it came up, very softly, in fact I hadn't actively noticed any music was playing before, but I recognised underwater. I think my colleague has probably decided I'm crazy now, since I was a tiny little bit distracted

I think that's the one thing that makes sense. It's just a little joke in the movie, only there to see for a few people, but still, some people will notice it's Mika playing the piano and smile. And getting someone you like and who you think is funny on set never hurts, because people not paying specific attention to Mika and not recognising him will hardly notice him anyway. It sounds like a 'hey, I'm making a movie, wanna join?' kind of thing to me

I agree with a lot of things here, including the bit that I don't like him doing reality shows. Call me selfish, but I want him to create new songs that touch me heart and I want to see him on stage because nothing compares to seeing him perform live. But although it is obvious that some new fans will soon forget him, quite a few of them just happened to discover him through these TV-shows and for the rest are no different from the rest of us. Let's all be very careful not to give them the feeling they're 'lesser' fans just because of the way they happened to discover him.

It's only (hu)man to blame others for things that go wrong, but it would be wiser if he didn't do it in interviews.

He was not giving the interview for the UK press. The only people that are going to read these translations is a small group die-hard fans (aka us). His favourite country is whatever country he happens to be in at the time. If he ever manages to do an interview in the UK again, I'm sure he'll profess his undying love of the country and his fans there. And given the fact that he still considers his home to be in London, he obviously feels more connected to the UK than to Italy, France, or any other country he might mention. It's obvious he's frustrated with his lack of success in the UK, but I see a lot more harsh comments about the press on here than I hear coming from his mouth. The only time he really spoke bad about the British press was after he asked if the mic was off, and they said it was (while obviously it wasn't). I didn't interpret this particular comment as a criticism of the British press, and definitely not his fans. Europe as a whole has not been particularly welcoming to immigrants in the past 12 years, especially if they're from a different culture. Lots of people have been made to feel foreigners in what they had come to consider their own country, and none of them are happy about it. The place where he's going to feel that the most will be the UK, because in all other countries he's primarily seen an international star, rather than an immigrant.

I'll just hope for the latter. Last time he said he sounded like himself as a teenager gave us TBWKTM, and to be honest I prefer TOOL to that album.

I couldn't agree with you more. The average comment on the MFC is more professional than the stuff on his facebook page lately. I like several artist pages there and if any of the other ones would post crap like that I would unlike them immediately. I haven't quite reached that point with Mika, but I'm getting there
