  1. J'ai pas envie aller au travail!!!!

  2. I am only 7 minutes in and I am already in tears. I want to just crawl up in the chair with him and hold him. He's so brave, I'm so proud, but my goodness, this is painful to watch in many ways.
  3. Oh gosh. So many reactions. First, his hair, it looks... bed head-y lol. And then the suit. I didn't notice the black embroidery til now. It's so freaking pretty. Side note: I also love the dress of the young lady on his left, with the music on it? Lovely. Next, when he smiles he lights up so much. I notice because in the last 2 pictures he looks bloody exhausted. Poor thing.
  4. Congratulations on getting to meet him. Your write up is great and so our your pictures. I'm so happy you had a great experience.
  5. Dear Sweet Mika, Since twitter restricts to 140 characters, and there is absolutely no way I can show that restraint, I am choosing to reply to your latest tweet here. Following the Barcelona gig you tweeted regarding how lucky you are to have fans like us. Mika, your fans are a reflection of you. Please understand that and never forget it. It is the inspiration you provide that has made us what we are. When you see the creativity of your fans at a gig, know we are reflecting your creativity back at you, because you've inspired us to do so. Inspired us to be creative, and show it, and repay you with it. It is heartfelt. When you meet fans at a show who have been patient, determined, and overcome adversities to be there for you? That's all you honey, you've taught us how to be patient and determined, how to overcome adversity with grace. We are just reflecting it back to you. When you receive sweet messages of support, hope and love from fans; you guessed it, you again. It is because you are sweet and supportive of your fans and inspire us with hope and love. When you perform for a crazy crowd of all ethnicities and ages, and watch as they become one crazy magical entity of childlike trust, enthusiasm and honesty? It's because you've taught us how to grow old without growing up. Your fans are a reflection of you, Mika. We're a little wild, a little dirty, most of us are flirty... but we're also from all over, and speak many languages. Just like this amazing person I know who is a Lebanese-American raised in France, based in London and living in cities around the world. He's a really special guy, I think you'd like him. I know I do, and I'm pretty sure the rest of your fans do as well. So remember, always, that your fans are a reflection of you. When you're feeling sad, or burned out or worn down, when you're lonely and angry, just remember your fans, and that they are a reflection of you. So when you find yourself thinking your fans are amazing, realize that YOU are amazing. When you think you're lucky to have us, know we feel lucky to have you. When you feel loved by us all, know we feel loved by you as well. Because we are a reflection of you. And you are effing amazing. I was about to say never change, but that's impossible. Never grow up Mika. Always be you. Always be true to your heart. We'll always be true to you. With so much love and a bursting heart of joy and emotion and I'm hoping the feels are hitting you across the ocean, Ashley @CarolinaAsh
  6. Yes. Yes amazing article. And the last sentence? A thousand yeses.
  7. Adorable. Was someone here the culprit? Because I wanna say I freaking adore that unicorn and if you sell them let me know because he's a bad mamajama and I love it.
  8. Have an amazing time all of you going! Can't wait to see pics of your fun props and surprises in action! <3
  9. Thanks for the translation! I watched the live stream yesterday. Terribly jealous, it looked like a gorgeous night to be in Rome. The collection had some.. misses for me, but omg on the whole it was stunninggggg. Definitely gonna be drawing some inspiration from it!
  10. Ok I gotta ask. Is Mika really allergic to peanuts or was that just a clever line?
  11. Is it the weekend yet??

  12. Ah thanks for that info! I wish I'd gotten that album version but I wanna save to go see him in concert. Thankfully there's awesome people like you to help out.
  13. Congrats Sandy! I used to visit Toronto often when I lived just across the lake, and pre-9/11 when it was slightly easier to cross. I love Toronto, it's beautiful. And I'll definitely take you up on that Tim Hortons offer someday. Are the timbits still a two-nie?
  14. Right, so, apparently it's my turn to finally drag my little tail in here. Bonjour! I'm seriously hoping Mika comes back in 2016. Maybe another acoustic tour? With more than just NYC and LA? I am saving up my pennies for this so I can go see him. Also. If whoever can do it wants to do it, you can add South Carolina to the tags, because SC in the houseeeee.
  15. So, has anyone else been inspired to learn languages because of Mika? I learned French in school... and then promptly forgot it as soon as I graduated. (I grew up in Upstate NY, and it seemed a logical choice. Then I moved south, because: SNOW.) But now I want to be able to watch The Voice without needing to find subtitles and use translator apps and stuff so, I'm relearning it! I'm using this app called DuoLingo. It's going fairly well.
  16. Oh man. I totally just found my new favorite thread on here. I adoreeeee this about Mika. Infact, his willingness and actually I almost think it's a desire, to make completely bonkers facial expressions without caring what people might think is possibly my favorite thing about him (after his ittle bittle dimples.) I dunno it just seems like it speaks so much to how expressive he is which of course shows in his music, but also to his personality. It matches mine (and thank goodness I work with kids and can let this out as much as I want as well!) Never grow up Mika! NEVER! Pretty sure this is going to have to be made into my official Mika forum icon. I'd been using other icons I've made until I found something worthy... this, this is so ME that it is SO worthy. I also love when he's all dark and twisty. I'd heard his music before I saw any videos of course, but when I was on YouTube one day Popular Song's video came up on recommended and I remembered, "Oh, Mika! Yes! I like him." and so I watched it, and then I watched the behind the scenes, and I was instantly smitten. There's just something about a naughty little dork that gets my motor going...
  17. NO NO NO Not Monday again already!

  18. YES! World Domination! Exactly. Mwahahaha. I've seen others say it on here and I feel it to, like Talk About You could have been written by us fans about him. I kind of hid it a little at first because it seemed like people would think it weird that a 31 year old woman is this crazy about a singer that isn't even big here. Which is kind of stupid when I put that in writing since I know people who are crazy crazy about like, Adam Levine and stuff (which is funny because when I saw the clips from The Voice in France with Mika I was like "omg, he's their Adam. He's gorgeous to look at, sincere but funny, a great sense of humor, and a little bit of l'enfant terrible." And wow I just went way off track again but stay tuned because I am about to come back to that phrase at the end of the post...) But well, I can't hold it in. I wanna scream from the rooftops, his name, his lyrics, how amazing he is. So people around me have noticed, clearly, and asked and then haven't been able to shut me up lol. We're all in this together!!!!! Yes! My name is Ash! Hi Dee, that'll be easy to remember, I have a coworker named that. I've got my passport picture ready, just need to have it printed (Yay for walmart) and tomorrow at work I'm going to do the form on my lunch break. I really hope after he's done his Europe part of the tour he comes back. I actually really wish I could suggest a place to him. Because Wilmington, NC is just an hour from me and it is such a Mika city! (If anyone gets a chance to visit do so, it's worth it.) It's got old history and beautiful architecture and design, a wonderful "vibe" that makes it feel like the city itself is ALIVE, but it's also very much into the modern art scene and has a huge art based community (Probably because there's a movie studio there. They film things like Under the Dome, One Tree Hill, Firestarter, Iron Man 3, etc.) It also is a very liberal city that would be so very open to Mika's unique universe. <3 But pretty much anywhere. I am setting aside money like crazy so I can be ready even if I have something else unexpected happen. Back to what I was saying about l'enfant terrible. I was watching the video of Mika & Myspace from earlier this year (MySpace is still a thing? what? WOW.) where he talked about the boy who ran away from home and took his home, and his fashion theory, and then about how on The Voice they called him l'enfant terrible and why and he said something I can't quite remember about how everyone should be that way from time to time or something like that and it got me thinking. Do Mika fans have a name? (Ya know, like Parrotheads, and whatnot.) I'm thinking I might have heard some, but if not, we should be "Les Enfants Terrible." lol. Anywho. I'm gonna hush now.
  19. I have no idea why I'm so nervous. Maybe it's because I love Mika so much and you guys do too and I don't wanna seem tardy to the party, even though I totally am, and I'm impressed by so many of you and your stories of going to see Mika. I was inspired to join after the GMA appearance. You see, I felt like I had missed 3 chances to see Mika, the 3 in NY (Oh, I'm in South Carolina.) Just because I'd worried about the logistics. Even though I had recently professed on my Facebook, late one night when I do all my best, most honest, spazzing out, that I'd do pretty much anything, even camp out for a week to see him. I just kind of digressed, I'll warn you that I do that a lot. Anyways, I then spent that day rewinding his performance and periscope and Natasha's and got very meloncholy. Immediate regret that I didn't try harder. To quote a semi awful movie, I let the fear of striking out keep me from playing the game. I told myself I had no one in NY. It was so early and I'm not an early person, and it'd probably be one song for the show and I'd rather wait til he was back at a club again. Talked myself right out of it and regretted it ever since. Tears were involved, it was ugly. Then I decided no more excuses. If I wanted something to change, I had to do it. So I started by joining here. In hopes that you guys would keep me on the right path, inspire me, and maybe even provide insight. I then made a list for what I'm calling Operation Mika. It includes getting a passport (incase I get a chance for a show in Canada.) And researching places to stay and how to do this and getting myself ready both physically and mentally for what going to a Mika show will mean for me. (You know, lots of waiting in lines, jumping, screaming, feeling slightly overwhelmed...) So yeah, that is why I'm here.
