This time of year is so sad and yet so thrilling for us seniors... ya. well i wasnt really there.. after school i had a final exit exam for math (at the h.s. where i will go nxt year) then i went to church then i got back, and it was filled (and boring nevertheless, and she had gotten her award already) and so i sat outside the rest of the time, and i was lighting candles for a table outside, and it was funny cuz the fire on the match traveled up my finger! lol:naughty:
dcdeb
Best laugh? Class snoozer? Most attractive? What were you?! I'm celebrating tonight , because I just found out that... I WON BEST DRESSED!!! Congrats, Melanie! That's a fun honor to get You'll all be surprised to learn that when I was a high school senior and they did the "Who's Who?" I won... Class Klutz! It was because I sprained my ankles something like a half-dozen times my junior and senior year -- I was in the marching band and always managed to twist an ankle, stepping into a rut, etc. It was embarrassing I would have preferred something like "Most Talented" or "Prettiest Eyes" but, well, there you go dcdeb

Ah, your time will come... enjoy it and if there's a big lesson I learned it's this : APPLY EARLY DECISION TO ANY COLLEGE YOU WANT TO ATTEND... it makes a difference! I just have to save as many souls as possible lol

BonjourMika1990
What's better about it? I start applying next year Oh so many things:shocked: See, applying early means getting it out of the way and not having all that stress (which is soooooo painful!) and the colleges get back to you usually before january (some even in october) which means that you feel safe knowing that you have options available to you and you are in fact college bound... Secondly, and this is what would have made the biggest difference for me... Applying early means you have a better chance of being accepted. My story with NYU... so tragic lol but I learned from it... I applied regular decision and the reason they turned me down was simply because there were too many applicants... The percentage accpeted into NYU are composed of 25% of students who applied early. It's just a better way of handling it I guess, and less stressful:thumb_yello:

Droopsy
Jeej for you!! Me .. nothing .. Yeah, we don't have this kind of "system". But if they would have asked people I'd probably would have been or "most creative" or "the loner"... Probably the latter.
Ana1202
Now is when I start to hate my country.... Why school has to be so boring over here ?!?! We do absolutely nothing like that.... It's so boring !!
Nielo
We don't have anything like this in Holland. I've always thought of it as a typical American thing, but I might be wrong. But if we did have I doubt I'd get anything. Maybe most quiet. Luckily we have less college-applying stress. It's a lot easier to get in and there's no such thing like Ivy-league colleges. All universities/colleges here are pretty much the same, except for small differences.
rilo8913
What's better about it? I start applying next year Only apply early decision to a college if you're absolutely positive you want to go there (that is, unless they have a nonbinding early action policy). Suzy
Yikes. That was almost 20 years ago for me. I was likely voted for something I shouldn't boast about here. And dcdeb - totally know what you mean about twisting ankles. I've done it dozens and my legs are screwed up. Betcha you wear orthotics...if you're not, you should probably be in them. Anyways...Congrats Mel!

I would have voted you something more profound:thumb_yello: Yes, me too! Best writer... most dramatic... something like that. I have the photo somewhere of me laying sprawled at the bottom of a flight of stairs... Oh, don't worry, it was my idea -- I figured, why not? Go for it! If you're going to be klutzy, BE klutzy! Yikes. That was almost 20 years ago for me. I was likely voted for something I shouldn't boast about here. And dcdeb - totally know what you mean about twisting ankles. I've done it dozens and my legs are screwed up. Betcha you wear orthotics...if you're not, you should probably be in them. You're right, maybe I ought to be... But I refuse! Suzy, when you're pushing 50, the last thing you need is to be reminded of the fact that you're pushing 50! dcdeb
