Rock against injustice

Some of the biggest names in rock and pop music are being lined up for a massive concert in London in December for ROCK AGAINST INJUSTICE, a gig to bring awareness to the people of the unjust extradition treaty between the UK and USA that is about to see a number of British citizens including Gary McKinnon thrown out of the UK without trial or proof of any guilt.

Comedian Russell Brand has been invited to host and compere the event and names that are being approached include George Michael, Bob Geldof, Sting, Mark Knopfler, Rod Stewart, Marillion, Squeeze, Mika and many others!

The event will also raise money for ASPERGERS SYNDROME, as Gary McKinnon was diagnosed as a sufferer recently.

The organisers are now in discussions with a number of venues including the 02 Arena, Wembley Arena, The Royal Albert Hall and the NEC.

Senior front bench Conservative and Liberal MP's are behind a review to the extradition treaty but the Labour leadership refuses to debate the document in the house. Many British citizens say "their blood is boiling" over this issue and that there elected representatives are not acting in the interests of the British people.

Mark Kelly from legendary 60's band Marillion was the first to contact the organisers pledging his support and saying this is a cause that people need to get behind.

PLEASE fellow journalists -help us publicise this event and get even more people on board - we need PROMOTERS and HELPERS urgently.

Just a few things;

Mikas still doing his album, and last time he was intereviewed in Lebanon, he indicated he preferred not to get involved in political causes.

RAH! Ha ha if they go there, and he does do it, everybody get get your t shirts out. LOL!

And finally, Marillion were an 80s band, not a 60s band.

Thanks for posting this.

Thanks for posting:thumb_yello:

i don't think Mika would be there though

I think he could! He came over to do that gig with Take That (the one mentioned on the front page where he has on a blue jacket) so he COULD do this one too!

Yeah but that was a company thing, if he didn't do it I bet he would have lost his "employee of the year" badge:naughty:

Anyway, I'll believe he is doing it when I see him on the stage (via GettyImages of course, no other way for me:thumbdown:)

Here is a link to the story of Gary McKinnon on the BBC website

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4715612.stm

Thanks for that link. I hadn't heard of him either. It seems to me he's just a foolish man who became obsessed with hacking. But I doubt he was dangerous. I feel sorry for him.

I know that Aspergers Syndrome is related to Autism, and could explain his obsession. Besides, if the US government think he's committed a crime, he should go to trial, not just be kicked out of the UK! It's probably a good thing that this issue has been brought to light.
