mellody
Is is so impressive / big / small? i think berlin and leipzig are the smallest of the german mika gigs. i remember it being quite small and close to the stage (though i guess it will seem very far away compared to what we got from mika this year! ). here's a pic of the crowd of another gig (don't worry, at the mika gig ppl weren't pushing like those in the pic!): http://www.dietotenhosen.de/pic/bilderstories/halsundbeinbruch1/13.jpg and my pix from mika's last gig at columbiahalle in 2007: http://www.mikafanclub.de/bilder-berlin.php hathor, i certainly will need a place to sleep, but remind me a few weeks before the gig, then i can look for you for clubs/events you can go to after the show. Wow impressive pictures mellody!! Thanks mellody! anyway...by event I was referring to some kind of activity you were doing, like a meeting, supper, some snack... or I don't know.... I don't think I have the energy (and the ears!!) as to go into a club after a concert Hubby says Berlin is not dangerous at night, maybe I'll just take a walk by the center, I still have to decide where he says Berlin is just beautiful! Or maybe I can stay in an open central station...I don't think I can go to sleep I suffer from insomnia
mellody
about the not dangerous, don't know what it's like compared to madrid, but i think there are certain parts of berlin where you shouldn't walk around alone at night. don't know about the central station, but a good place to stay at for the night are always the international airports, they're open the whole night and it's not cold. you could do that in london as well. hathor
Unter den Linden, Friedrichstrasse, Leipzigerstrasse, Wilhemstrasse, just big streets, those were my choices...just around Friedrichstrasse so then I can take the express to the airport Anyway maybe I only go to the airport so I'm sure I don't get late if I don't find another person with same plan than me (everybody is so quiet here ) Can you tell me if you don't mind (my German isn't very good) which is the last service in the night of the Schoenefeld Express and prices? I haven't reserved because I think (am I right?) I don't need to do it in advance. Maybe I can check it myself and learn a little bit more German which always comes in handy (I had it 2 years at Uni and enjoyed it a lot). Edit: found this but no schedules and no prices http://tinyurl.com/37af3c Edit2: found this, I'm afraid I'm not in time for the last one in the night, I'll have to wait until the morning unless it isn't accurate: http://www.theworldcupingermany.com/artman/publish/article_10.shtml Edited November 16, 2009 by hathor

Here it says that the Schönefeld airport express runs every day between 4:30 and 23:00. http://www.bahn.de/regional/view/regionen/berlin_brbg/info/airportexpress.shtml So, no trains between 23:00 and 4:30. What time's your flight in the morning? I don't know yet waht I will be doing the night after the gig. I think more people will comment on that at a later point (this gig is still so far away ). Looking forwards to meet you there!

If I don't see it a mess maybe I can use S9 or even S45 if they open it again. Seems that I'm impatient at what to do that night , because it's not like you go back to your comfy warm home after a concert in your own city. Looking forward to meet you too! I've seen you in the Baden Baden tv show and pics!! Edited November 19, 2009 by hathor
mellody
the gig has been relocated to a smaller venue, the Huxley's: http://www.huxleysneuewelt.de/ - capacity 1.600 people. (got the info on the organizer's website: http://www.mlk.com/mika/1037-the_boy_who_knew_too_much_-_tour_2010)

(got the info on the organizer's website: http://www.mlk.com/mika/1037-the_boy_who_knew_too_much_-_tour_2010) I'm so sorry that this happened, though I'm happy it's been relocated to a smaller and more beautiful venue.... I've just checked the website and Mika's gig hasn't been added to the Dates yet. Suppose they'll put it soon.

I've seen you in the Baden Baden tv show and pics!! Sorry, I only just saw that you posted this message. Haven't checked this thread in a long time! VBB stands for Verkehrsverbund Berlin Brandenburg which means transport association. If your filight leaves only at 8:30 you should be able to make it to the airport in time without any problems. You'll be alright. And don't worry, we'll surely find sth to do after the gig - Berlin's a lovely city! See you there!
hathor
Danke schön mellody for the update with the new venue. It's a pity what's happening with Mika in Germany! mariposa, never mind! I haven't checked it also in a long time. Transport association, cool, thanks! I've visited Karlsruhe, Heidelberg, Fulda and Frankfurt, now let's see what I can find in Berlin, appart from a Mikagig Looking forward to it! keti
???????? Check out the Am'dam and Antwerp threads But they've also put more gigs on the list. In May.
suzie
Check out the Am'dam and Antwerp threads But they've also put more gigs on the list. In May. :shocked:yes, I have just seen it.. It just feels so wrong to postpone sold out gigs... They will not lose money, obviously, but fans who booked everyting will lose most of the money they have spent on it already... Thank god I was not even considering those two gigs... However, I still hope it might simply be just additional dates added to the schedule..
