That's what I was thinking, the 1st verse fits the 1st verse of LYL and the 2nd verse there fits the chorus of LYL if you change the rhythm around from the way that Marilyn has typed it up. But we have to sing some parts slower and the others fast. For example "singing high" should be slower and we're hopeful and we're happy should be fast. You are on the radio.- Emily cant you write a happy song? You're a total legend, love ya for this!!! It's shaping up quite nicely if I do say so myself !!! Can I just suggest that we change the 7th line to, "Don't forget in the UK" because then it has a matching rhythm, to it's coresponding line, line 5. It makes the verse flow a lot more just. Same with line 8, could we change it to "we have been waiting here for you" for the same reason??? It means that each corresponding line has the same amount of syllables you see. Not a criticism, I promise, you have a great skill for editing !!! Well at the moment it's a rough idea. If we can get the basic poem right we can tweak it to fit whatever music we all decide upon. I've written alternative lyrics for Mika songs before so it shouldn't be too hard. Once we all agree on the tune, whether it's one already written by Mika or something original. An idea might also be to use an existing tune, and add something original like a bridge or a chorus. But this is just an idea. I tweaked it a bit to make it make more sense, and where there is I, as in just me, I changed it to WE, as in all of us. I also changed one of the references to Radio 2, to,2 to "listining to the radio too", to make it a bit different. I also separated it into a possible chorus, if we decide to use a chorus in the song. I love how things are going with this. Well, if the chorus is to fit the exact rhythm of LYL, then we can't use the Mika that starts the first line, it doesn't fit, however we do need the Mika at the start of lines 2 and 3 of the chorus for the rhythm to fit. So there we go, a compromise, 2 lines starting with Mika to be similar to LYL, and 2 lines that don't start with Mika, so it's more original, that good ?! You don't have to be from the UK to join in, but I hope all the UK fans on here might have a go. I was thinking, we could write Mika some lyrics. He may not use them in his songs, but it's the thought that counts. I'd like them to be about how excited we are to have him on the radio and how much we love him. If we get together to write something wonderful, from his fanclub, they could be emailed to him at the radio station. I'm sure there must be a way to do that. What I'm thinking is that we could each write a line, to begin with, and see how it goes. I'll gather them into the first post and we'll see how they go. We can then discuss if the lyrics should be adjusted or switched around etc, to get the best effect. What does everyone think? I will start it with the line that came to me when I learned Mika was going to do the UK show. Then I'll add the lines you all submit. here's what we have so far, organised into the poem. Even if someone hurt you or your day is bad - No one and nothing can steal your magic world of sunshine. You're able to pass your joy to other people. Oh. My. Goodness. That is THE most thoughtful, unique thing anyone has ever said to me, never mind a perfect stranger of sorts!!! I'm speechless... Thank you doesn't even cover it Helen. That means the world to me, when I'm sad/upset/angry now I can always look back at those 2 little messages that you've sent me, knowing that they will cheer me right up, and to me that's a priceless gift, much love for ya girl XD ❤!!! This statement may be true when I'm on MFC, as it brings me immeasurable joy, no matter what I'm doing but I am a normal human just like everyone here, and I can be a real sour puss/debbie downer/moody teen somedays, though just remember. I believe you have this inner child too though Helen, I believe we all do, and Mika brings this child out in us, and that is why I/we owe him so much, as he lets me/us see the absolute pure innocence of our inner kids having fun and engaging with sheer merriment with other fans/kids all over the world everyday on MFC, people like you who spread such love to people like me...
